You know you’re having a bad day when you have to yell “fore” on the practice putting green. I once bladed a chip shot that was headed right towards someone’s ankle.

When you're hit in the nose, on the fly, with a golf ball on the first fairway!

This happened to me in Myrtle Beach almost 30 years ago.  It was the third day of a five-day tournament among 16 friends and acquaintances.  On the first tee at Legends Heathland I finally hit the fairway.  The two other guys were in the deep rough on the left.  I leaned forward to see my ball and all of a sudden I felt something hit my nose.  I looked down on my white shirt and I was covered with blood!  Turns out the rough opened my friends club face, the ball went directly right, missed my other friend who was driving (and some may say has a bigger nose than me) and struck me right on the bridge of my nose.  I could have been much worse!  We raced back to the starting trailer (the club house wasn't built yet) and packed my face in ice to control the bleeding.  After about two hours, the bleeding stopped just in time for my group to make the turn.   I asked for the keys and drove myself to the closet hospital.

[Author's note:  here is where non-golfing people will always ask "Why didn't they drive you to the hospital?"  Those who golf and play in these fun group tournaments will testify that "of course you drove yourself, they had to complete their round!"]

The hospital confirmed it was broken, gave me a specialist's name who said there wasn't anything to be done until the swelling went down.  By now, I had two black eyes that were almost swollen shut.  I made my way back to the course, picked up my friends and did the only thing I could do, grab a few beers!  Of course I was the topic of conversation for everyone at the bar!

That night the "tournament committee" met and decided that since my vision was impaired, I'd get one extra stroke for the next day's round.   One Stroke?!  I couldn't see as I could barely get my contacts in and out!   What needed to happen to get two strokes?   Loose a limb?

Anyway, that was not the way to start a round and I knew it was only going to get worse!

When a bout of rage results in you then having to fish a club out of a pond...

I have never had to do this myself, but I have seen a handful people have to do it. Absolutely hilarious.

You know you are having a bad day when you toss your putter towards the bag a bit too hard after a missed putt and the bounces down the green into an area marked, "Quick Sand, do not enter," in large red letters.

Yes, that really happened to me.  A long time ago, at Richter Park golf course in Connecticut.

@Golf2Much we were just in the Keys on a family vacation.  I didn't have time to play but you live in one of the most beautiful places in the world.  We will come back and I will be sure to bring my clubs and reach out.  I want to take the Ferry from Fort Myers next time.  Maybe in October.

Fairways:  Ping G410 5, 7, 9 wood  Alta CB red 65 R flex

Hybrid:  Ping G410  26 degree  Alta CB Red 70 R flex

Irons: Ping G430  7-PW, 45, 50 Alta CB black 65 soft R flex

Wedges:  Ping 195 S54, E58

Wedges and irons are - 1/2” and one degree flat

Putter: Sacks Parente Duke 32.5”

Ball: Titleist Pro VI or Callaway Chrome Soft X ls

While not at the same time I was fit for every club in my bag as well as the Pro VI ball. I use the chrome soft x ls on my league course.  It has much softer softer greens than the club that I belong to.

I’m on a mission to shoot my age - lifetime lowest round is 66 and I’m currently 67.

Watched a close friend lose control of his battery operated push cart on its first day out. 6th hole. New with the controller so he thinks he's hitting the stop button. Instead hits the accelerator button. Right into a pond. Had to wade in to about 8' of water to fetch the clubs, cart, car keys and cell phone. That's a bad day.

Played with a guy that I don’t what he was trying to do but maybe be a YouTuber but he seemed cool enough. He tried using a drone to record his round and it was the funniest thing due to him not knowing how to use it and every time he would start the drone it would launch up and at him. After the third or fourth time I laughed so hard he ended up putting the drone away and left after 9 holes.

Been playing for about 2 years in total. Winter breaks and a 6month period when I got sick. Starting to feel like myself again and recently played a “okay” round.
I currently have custom fit Cobra LTDx irons/wedges, a Vokey 60(cause my short game has been the best part of my game, and a Maverick 9 deg. Driver. Driving is the worst part of my game so My 4 iron usually takes alot of the long game abuse.

You know you're having a bad day on the course when...

Your playing partners look like the dudes from Duck Dynasty. And they brought shotguns. And they hit off the first tee better than you.

The beer cart girl zips past you without looking even though you tipped her $20 only 20 minutes ago.

You're carefully lining up your fourth putt while the Duck Dynasty dudes are already teeing it up on the next hole.

You thought you heard the course ranger mutter something about "lessons" followed by "..revoking his membership".

The beer cart girl zips by you again, even though you're waving a couple of Benjamins at her.

That sandbagger you wanted to punch the crap out of last week just watched you s#*@% your third approach attempt into the water.

You're playing so badly that .. oh no .. even @Yellow Ball starts to feel sorry for you...
