Thoughts on Brysons Philosophy

I saw this article this morning and thought it was interesting.

 Bryson DeChambeau Explained Why Every Kid Should Play From The Red Tees After Shooting A 58

"You just go to the front tees, try and shoot under 60. If you can do that and you consistently are able to do that every single round you play, get in that comfortable mind of, okay, I’m 10-, 11-, 12-under, let’s keep going, pedal to the metal, that gets you in a great mindset."

Knowing he puts so much thought/science into everything he does on the course, it's an interesting concept. 

Does it truly build confidence even in a mid/high handicap?  

I know when I was playing all the time and had the ability to just go hit several balls from different points on the course and different scenarios that it built confidence in difficult shots and shaping the ball flight.

It’s a great philosophy. The two biggest things to me it accomplishes are 1) it’s gets a person used to trying to score and go low 2) gets the person comfortable shooting low scores on a regular basis that will carry over the further back one goes on the tees.

How many people have posted here or on other forums about having a good day until they starting thinking at some point if i shoot this on the next 1,2,3 holes I’ll shoot X score for a pb or to break a certain number.

It is actually a teaching approach to learn golf.  See https://operation36.golf.   Basically you play specific distances until you can shoot 36 and then you move back.

Yes, all golfers with indexes north of 5 should do this but we won't... and it has absolutely nothing to do with pride
