We also have several Alternates (in case someone on the list above notifies me that they are unable to play - and also for fill-ins during the match play in the case of a pick-up player need)

So here's a question I just thought of.....

Since we're currently in the "rainy/hurricane" season here in SW Florida, what happens to a score if I get rained out and can't complete a round due to weather? I also noticed that a lot of the teams and members have fairly low handicaps, are handicaps going to be used for this as well? Not that it makes any difference to me as I'm as committed as ever to play and my group here very rarely gets rained out as we're a pretty hardy bunch!! LOL Normally if it starts raining while we're on the course, we take cover until it passes through then we get back out and finish. Just thought I would ask!!

Well, weather can certainly be an issue.  You have 7 days to complete your round each week... I know that we all only have a limited window to get out and play.  We will have alternates that can hopefully fill in for those issues... but hopefully you will be able to find the weather window to get your round in. 

This is completely based on net score... so your handicap index should be used to calculate the course handicap at the course you are playing... and you should submit your hole by hole score using the handicap for each hole to determine your net hole score to par... you and your teammate will combine your scores for the net best ball score.  That score will be matched against another team duo to see who wins the match.  More to come on those details as we get closer to the first week of matches.

Also, you will note that @GolfSpy SAM recruited a player that is listed as an alternate.  That is because the 4 alternates were numbers 65-68 entries into the field.  So... unless one of the first 64 backs out... unfortunately that pick should remain an alternate, someone in the first 64 should be given a spot on that team.  

With that said... I am going to link ALL the names above (because I have only time on my hands to do so  ).... but seriously... 

Please validate that you are willing to play 1 round a week for up to 5 weeks beginning September 1st. 

If you aren't able to play - that's ok... we have some alternates that are anxious and waiting to fill your spot...

You can remove your name by updating your response to the poll (and letting me know). 

If you ARE still committing to play..

Respond to this thread... and while you are at it... go ahead and pick an available team to join and post it too!

Oh darn, I should have joined when I made the first post. I had thought you guys wanted a "for sure" entry and didn't want to steal a spot from someone else if I couldn't commit. Oh well, hopefully I'll still get in.
