acatalano32
For the flat stick, the dough maker, do you go off of looks or numbers? I was fit for my putter (Taylormade TP del monte) but I don’t love the way it looks or sets up next to the ball, but the numbers were the best and I putt the best with it. Conversely, I really like the look of my Cameron x5 but I don’t putt as well with it. GolfSpy_APH
I'm going to say Performance which think combines the two. Numbers will be my priority, looks are what they are and often can find a putter with good enough looks that offers ideal numbers. In the end performance is what matters for me. That is a combination or looks (so a putter which I can align properly and simply) data as to Sam lab or quintec and how it works on the course. Josh Parker
It's all about the numbers for me. If it feels good and I putt well with it, I don't care what it looks like. I used the Ping Doc17 (huge half-moon) for years because I could putt great with it. It was ugly as all get out but it worked. acatalano32 1 Quote Josh Parker
Siamese Moose
While I'm generally going to say the numbers are the priority, there are designs that I will never even consider because I think they're too ugly. I don't care for mallets in general, but the modern oversized ones are a hard pass for me. Fortunately, when I got fit last year my numbers were best with traditional blades, and the Mizuno OMOI 1 that I ended up with is an almost identical match for the 20 year old La Jolla it replaced, so it seems my stroke has not changed in that time. I hope that means it's not going to change going forward. acatalano32 1 Quote Moose, my cat, is Siamese
cnosil
I think a putter looks pretty good if it is making putts. A putter stays in my bag based off of performance. acatalano32 and Rob Person 2 Quote Driver: G400 Max 9* w/ KBS Tour Driven Fairway: TS3 15* w/Project X Hzardous Smoke Hybrids: 915H 21* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype 915H 24* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype Irons: TR20V 6-11 w/Vizard TR20-85 Graphite Wedge: 54/12D, 60/8M w/:Accra iWedge 90 Graphite Putter: TM-180 Testing: Backups: Milled Collection RSX 2, mFGP2, Futura 5W Member: MGS Hitsquad since 2017
Rob Person
loved my odyssey og white hot, it felt great, rolled the ball well. after it got stolen, I replaced it with a mallet. took some getting used to, but found its sweet spot. I did have to adjust a few things in my putt stroke to account for the different weight amd balance though. There are a couple of styles I tend to gravitate to like an Anser blade and small mallet (Scott JAT, Bettinardi BB30) then I'll take them out to the greens to practice and let the numbers decide.
