Rubber weight type thing

Recommended Posts

I bought a tensei/callaway shaft off eBay and when removing the tip there is a rubber weight looking thing that protrudes out of the shaft about a quarter of an inch, what is this? It weighs 1 gram. Is it just a weight?IMG_0102.jpeg.08f27d51e0f3af482a92f026c27e9961.jpeg

It s a tip weight which is used to add weight to the head side of the club.  when building a club it is used instead if lead tape on the clubhead

Yes, a tip weight for graphite shaft.  It gets loose when you pull the adaptor.  I would not epoxy it into the tip of the shaft if you're thinking of reusing the shaft sometime down the road.    It's good as long as not rattling.

If it has the rubber feel is it probably the tungsten tip weight which runs about 10 grams with out any epoxy.
