Getting back at it, been away for a few weeks, SUV blew up and was having a hard time finding a good deal on a newused car. Anyway felt good playing instead of hitting into my net, greens had been rolling well after aeration. made some good recoveries and also a few bad shots. A good day over all.

A rare Monday round this week. Since today was a holiday, the club was open. There were 19 players in our group yesterday, and there was a lot of talk about playing early. I was all for it since I had a meeting today, but it was at 9 pm. So we set up 4 tee times starting at 8 am. Only 2 of us showed up. We were the first players of the day so we finished our round in 2 hours and 10 minutes.

We played match play, and I had a rollercoaster of a round, but so did my opponent.  -11 net birdies or better. I had 6 actual birdies while in the same round had 4 bogies and 3 doubles. A double on 9 left me -$5 at the turn in a seesaw match. We went in to hole 14 I was 2 down, but a birdie there brought it back to 1 down. I hit a horrible drive on 15 that went off the toe and went further right than it did forward and caught a lot of flack, until his tee shot was worse than mine. Then on the last three holes I had  2 incredible up and downs and a finishing hole birdie meant I had a $10 bill extra in my pocket when it was all over. It was a lot of fun.

I will say that on 18, after driving through the fairway and into the water on Sunday and earlier on 12 I went through the fairway and into the water again, so I decided to lay up with a hybrid. I hit a horrible shot that duck hooked about 60 yards and then miraculously bounced and rolled another 150 yards down the cart path leaving me in a great position to hit the next shot to 15’ and sank the putt.

Had some time off to attend my son’s wedding. The time off showed. Timing was bad on the front nine. Also had two bad breaks. One ball plugged in the face of a bunker. Which led to a double. The other I hit a limb of a tree and went into a hazard for a second double. Also had 31 putts when I normally never have above 27. However, the iron play did save the round and produced 5 birdies! Highlight of the day was the last hole. 525 par 5 around a dogleg and ravine. Hit the drive 337 over the dogleg. Had 188 in and had to carry two front bunkers to a kidney shaped elevated green. Hit 6 iron to 15 feet. Of course missed the eagle, but a nice finishing birdie!

Play like a champion today!

Combination of two 9 hole rounds played on 10/10 & 10/11. 42 on the back 9 yesterday is my best 9 hole score to date, and the combined 87 is my best total score to date. Would prefer to have it on 18 consecutive holes, but with the season winding down and daylight limited I'll take what I can get. Tons of positives from yesterday's 9.

Hit the ball very well, but couldn’t buy a putt. White Wing the other day was slow. Today at Legacy there were extremely fast, but bumpy. I had 32 putts… Ouch!

Just set my all time lowest score, 72, even par!

My regular group has shut it down for the season (won't play if it's below 60° at the start!), so I haven't played much lately. I always seem to play quite well after a break, and that held true today. I was 2 under early, and but for a couple bad breaks might have stayed under par. My tee shot on the par 3 13th (165 yards) hit the flagstick, and kicked way off the green down a hill, and I did not get up and down. On 17 my birdie putt hit something, and kicked away. Still, I'll take it!

That’s a great round! Congrats! I haven’t played Indian Ridge in a long time, but I recall liking it. Is the course still in good shape?

The course is in better shape than it's been in quite a few years. However, they're punching the greens Monday and Tuesday, so stay away for a bit.

Nice round!

Play like a champion today!

Final round of our senior club championship!  Had 3 bunker saves, 2 long wedge up and downs, one flop shot save, and my topper, a skip across a pond tee shot leading to a par.  All of this combined to let me win the championship for a 3rd time in a row.  All I can say is I'm getting luckier the older I get.

All around a good day but the back nine was kind of a mess. +3 with two birdies 🤦🏻‍♂️. Still dealing with unforced errors and today I had four three putts after “reaching the green” but with outta over 60’. There’s always tomorrow.

Beautiful Fall day in Indiana, so I took my caddy out for a round 😍

Decided that maybe I don't need new clubs this season after all. I know...I know....check back with me when the snow melts in March/April. The Epic Flash driver is point & shoot. Ping G425 irons are money on distances - I just have to work on the direction. Only 26 putts has me rethinking if I really need to drop $400 on an Evnroll 🤔

Of course, finally playing consistently....just in time to pack-it-in for the year 🤪  This game's a lot easier sober!

This off-season (called winter here) is going to be spent in the gym & getting lessons.

Temperatures have dropped and wind was blowing hard. Much different than just two weeks ago. Hit the ball well. However, the greens were very slow. Many putts missed! Hit it well and just could not make the putts. Had two Eagle attempts from inside 12 feet and missed both by inches……,,

Play like a champion today!

After 3 weeks my main course finally opens after the overseed. So assuming that the superintendent doesn't extend the extra watering for a week, I should be able to post rounds here again.

So, I think I might have found my new favorite course. About an hour from me, in the coastal town of Ventura, CA, Olivas Links is just about the most beautiful course I've ever played.

Fairways like carpet, rolling mounds, a coastal breeze (though apparently it can really whip when the conditions are right), beautiful (and complicated) green complexes - it's stunning.

The downside: they had JUST punched the greens, and they were INFURIATING. Lol. I did birdie the second hole, but other than that, it was a "hit and hope" kind of day on the greens (31 putts - 3 3-putts).

Couldn't hit my driver on the front nine to save my life, managed to (somehow) knock my Caley 3-iron loose from its epoxy (very annoying), and yet: I can't remember a nicer round of golf. (Breaking 80 aside, of course 😉 )

In the interest of wanting to document my golfing adventures, I brought my Real Camera (vs iPhone, that is), and attached are some of my favorites from the day (including a four-shot series where my buddy Billy managed an INSANE escape from absolute prison.

Enjoy, and if you like, Let me know, and I'll do this more often.

(Sadly, for yours truly (same hole, ironically), the jail was a legit prison.  But it's a cool shot 😉 )

Heyo! I’m back here, playing my local 9-hole twice. The “front” nine was not my finest, but coming back was definitely better by 11 strokes. I can definitely see where the improvements are happening. We’ll see how it goes next week.
