Once again I'm the early Monday morning guy.

39° at the start, 46° at the end, no sun, and a 2-3 club wind: I was cold, and it affected my play. Despite that, I'm quite happy with my overall scoring today. However, that net 3 under isn't as impressive as it seems, as a lot of tees were set well forward of the normal positions. I keep thinking this will be my last round of the season, and then I get out again, but I don't think I'll go out at this temperature again.

Cloudy and rainy day but it just felt like a good day for golf. Found a lot of greens, even when I missed the fairway. Nothing spectacular but just solid golf.

Hit 13 greens and had 29 putts which included one sloppy 3 putt. Several bombed drives! Had 2 bogies and 5 birdies including 3 in a row! Nice weather, but very windy. Very pleased with the round. This will be it for the week. We are off for Thanksgiving vacation. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!

Thanks. This course had my number last year but this year I seemed to have it figured out. Played the whites today due to weather but I probably could have played as well from the blues. Was swinging good today and greens were in great shape.

Used to be we had through the following day to post scores.  6AM (PST? EST? UTC?) the following day is a bit tight for those of us that finish our rounds Sunday evening.

That said, I have a round to post a score from yesterday, how do I do that now?

Today was likely the best iron hitting round I've had since I started my MGS review of the Callaway Paradym X irons.

image.png.182be0065c1396ce9c0ae7280999ebbc.png

Since moving up to our gold tees, I've had more opportunities to hit iron approach and other shots during my round.  Throw in a lesson and after about a couple of weeks it seems to be paying off.  I didn't score as well as I would have liked, but my irons were pretty well struck.  I had 17% greens in regulation (higher than usual for me) with two par 3 tee shots long.  On our short par 3 fifth hole we were down wind with it blowing 20 mph.  I hit my approach wedge and it was on a rope.  It took one bounce in front of the pin, rolled up and lipped out.  It's the closest I've been to getting a hole in one in years.  Two other par 3's tee shots were struck well and ended up on the back fringe.

My two best holes were the par five 4th hole and par four 11th hole.  Both were directly into the wind.  On the 4th hole, it took a decent drive, solid five wood second shot and excellent 7 wood on to the green (pin high and to the left).  Two putts and my first par of the day.  On the 11th hole (400 yards), I hit a great drive, solid 3 wood and a 60 yard sand wedge to within two feet.   I don't par the 11 hole very often, especially into that wind.

My up and downs should have been better than highlighted above.  I missed my landing area by only a foot or two on several chips and it yielded a longer than expected putt for par.  Like last week, I burned the edge more than I really want to admit.   No wonder the team behind us won all the money today!  My scorched edges made the cup bigger for them!

I did switch my driver shaft before my round today.  I ended up with two Ping Alta Quick 45 gram shafts:  one standard length (playing 46 inches) and one an inch shorter (playing 45 inches).  I typically don't have an issue hitting most fairways (usually around 75% with misses not missing by much.  I was looking at trying to get a few extra yards, so I've been using the longer stock shaft.  I changed out the shafts and ended up gaining 4 yards on my Shot Scope performance distance and 5 yards on my average drive as compared with the last five rounds.  For now, I'll be keeping the shorter shaft in the driver to see if that extra distance can be sustained.

Got partnered up with a twosome and played from the white tees today.  Saw an entirely different part of the course and had a lot of fun.

Front 9 : I had 2 birdies and lipped out on 2.  5/7 FW and 6/9 GIR

Back 9 : 5/7 FW and only 4/9 GIR with 2 bogies on the back.

Made some grip changes on the driver today and saw a major improvement.

Thank you!  Putting was on fire today and my driver was playing ball.  Still having a fade but it was minimal and leaving me in great shape, especially from the whites.

I finally get some time to golf after work and now it gets dark at 6. . .

Anyways, it's been a while since I posted any rounds but at least I had a good go at it. Hopefully I can get another round or two in this week with my time off work.

My highlights for these two rounds are saving par on #5 Tuesday with a great chip for a tap in putt and somehow managing 2 sand saves today. Really the sand saves are interesting since we got a bit of moisture recently and the sand is basically grainy mud right now.

Overall, my short game is saving me so much right now. Putts and chips are on point and I'm not complaining.

And yes, that is where the blue tee box is on #4. Just in front of the random access road the land developer/course owner made to get his tractors back there. It's ok, we've had fairways look worse in recent years lol

Playing Indoors for the remainder of the season. Played the Eagle course at Wohali on Trackman. Very nice mountain course with great visuals. Please note that the long drive of 361 is a bit of an aberration for me. Elevated tee and the hole dropped off dramatically. Hit it really well and then it just rolled, rolled and rolled.
