What is a good sippin' Tequila that won't break the bank?

Cabo Wabo is decent for the price. Espolon is good...Corrido............. there are quite a few good Tequilas for a moderate price. I like Mezcal even better, but I'm a huge fan of Islay Scotch, so... 😉

I've really been liking Woodford Reserve over ice, but definitely prefer Blantons when I can actually find some.

I would love to be able to get a hold of a bottle of Blanton’s but it next to impossible to get in Colorado. The big liquor stores have a wait list (2 yrs minimum wait) and the smaller stores can’t even get it.

Tonight is a little pour of Caol Ila... one of my favorite Islays.

My favorite whisky, determined after a significant amount of effort in and around St Andrews pubs.  Good barkeeps would ask what I liked, and why, and then suggest something different to try.  It was a grueling process, but I love the results.

A nice, dirty vodka martini after a grueling day. These zoom conferences take it out of you. Did a premarital one with a couple who lives in Jersey City.

I've been dabbling in some Craft IPAs, Stouts, and getting into some of the summer brews lately.  But last night I ended the night with a few sips of my Crown Royal bourbon mash.  It was one of their limited editions last year and I've got a few drops left.

Speaking of which... it might be about time to get some.

Come to think of it, I guess it was 2011 and 2012 that I did my research, I was definitely younger.  But I didn't do marathon sessions, it might have been a couple of drams at most on a given night.  I was just in town for long enough to get a pretty good education.

As far as I know yes. Hey also put in a bar inside Fenway called “the Bleacher Bar” that you can see the game at field level and don’t access it from normal entrances. IMG_9425.png

I still remember the first time I went.  I was probably 7 or 8, but I recall walking out to the bleacher section and seeing the field for the first time.  It was awesome!

That's great you got to go with so many generations.  Definitely a goal of mine down the road!

I just had this thought yesterday. I typically enjoy drinking beer while golfing. I'm also crazy competitive. I can drink beer and not be sloppy, but play very sloppy golf. If I'm trying to score I try not to drink. Even one beer can throw me all out of sync. If I'm golfing with buddies back home I'll have a few for nostalgia's sake. Otherwise I'm trying to avoid alcohol while golfing. It just makes me a worse golfer and I get more upset with my bad shots (which happen way more frequently after a couple drinks).

All that said, sometimes its just nice to grab a beer or two. What's a score anyway?

I’m generally the same way. Typically I save my beer for the 19th hole. I know Lacassem is a big fan of having some “swing juice” before the round.

I can also play just fine after a beer or drink but if I start pounding then in the course I start to fall off in the focus department by the end of the round.

If it’s a boys weekend I don’t mind so much but I’m generally pretty damn competitive so I probably drink less on the course than most as a big part of my enjoyment from golf comes from the challenge of playing your best and striving for continuous improvement.
