coyote_jones
I just had this thought yesterday. I typically enjoy drinking beer while golfing. I'm also crazy competitive. I can drink beer and not be sloppy, but play very sloppy golf. If I'm trying to score I try not to drink. Even one beer can throw me all out of sync. If I'm golfing with buddies back home I'll have a few for nostalgia's sake. Otherwise I'm trying to avoid alcohol while golfing. It just makes me a worse golfer and I get more upset with my bad shots (which happen way more frequently after a couple drinks). All that said, sometimes its just nice to grab a beer or two. What's a score anyway? What's a score anyway?I’m generally the same way. Typically I save my beer for the 19th hole. I know Lacassem is a big fan of having some “swing juice” before the round. I can also play just fine after a beer or drink but if I start pounding then in the course I start to fall off in the focus department by the end of the round. If it’s a boys weekend I don’t mind so much but I’m generally pretty damn competitive so I probably drink less on the course than most as a big part of my enjoyment from golf comes from the challenge of playing your best and striving for continuous improvement.
