The wine barrels give it a nice hue and flavor, but it's just the slightest bit harsh; it could have used another while in that barrel, in my quite uneducated opinion. My friends from Scotland always drank the Famous Grouse as their regular whisky, its a pretty dang good blend. Always with a bit of water, never with ice. I'm betting it was/is. Bourbon isn't wine. There are a lot of "craft distillers" out there. I doubt that Woodson distilled this from any distillery he owns or is in partnership with. It might very well be a good Bourbon, but I'm betting it's very young and just on the cusp of legal to be called Bourbon. There is a reason the big boys rule this category of spirits.... they have been at it for hundreds of years. Small, craft distillers very seldom have anything aged beyond two years. Most of the new Bourbon from craft distillers is MPG sourced until they have enough aged stock to put on the shelves. Most craft distillers go under before that happens. I only purchased it for the novelty & b/c I'm a Woodson fan and a bourbon fan. I bought it through Mash & Grape, which I believe is the only distributor. I don't know that it's even available in stores. I have discovered that I enjoy it more chilled, which isn't exactly the best endorsement for a bourbon, LOLZ.
