It’s a sweet taste, not sure how to explain it.


When I started working in the casinos 20 years ago this sweet old Laos woman would bring me tamarind hard candies from her little market she ran. Got me hooked on the tamarind. Love it.

Yes, 1792 is one of my favorites.  My favorite 1792 is the Port Finish, but I have not been able to get it out here in WA State.  The stores can't get it from the distributors.

So I get home from golf today, after a couple of Lagunitas IPAs at the course, and start to make my favorite refreshing summer drink....gin and tonic, Tanquerray and Schweppes.  So in the fridge, right next to the lime wedges, is the nub of ginger root.  I slice off a thin bit, kind of crimp it between my fingers, and plop it into the glass next to the lime.  It was delish, added a tiny bit of sweet spice to the drink.

Tastes like a creamsicle. Just dont have to many!

Had to restock the bar. Was out of all my regular sipping whiskey and was down to just a 1/2 bottle of Crown Royal. I think this should last a little bit
