SPY VIP GolfSpy Dave Posted March 18, 2010 SPY VIP Share Posted March 18, 2010 PT 460, PT 440 (Titleist Precision Tuned Drivers) As a consumer, I like that the name would give you information about the club and not just an in house numbering system. SPY VIP Tony Covey MGS Posted March 18, 2010 SPY VIP Share Posted March 18, 2010 I like the idea of including the model year (910 Dx). It makes it a lot easier to try and figure out what came out when. MyGolfSpy is only major golf site that refuses advertising from large golf companies. With your support we can keep it that way. DJNiich
P2, P3 (Titleist Performance Drivers) Duo (Titleist Dual Optimization Drivers) I like these because they are simple yet they get to the point. All of the numbers confuse me.
jamo
Ever since the 909 series came out I have been wondering this, since no one would be dumb enough to name is the 911 series, which would be the natural progression. 905-907-909-911. I kind of like the Duo myself, 910 would just leave more questions open about the name of the next one.

I'm just curious but how do these numbers confuse you? I mean its the 905, 907, 909 and they are not all out at the same time. Its not like how has their 3 series, 5 series, 7 series and z series cars which are always changing. I'm not trying to be rude but I am just curous as to how the numbers are confusing. robbo32
Well I don't exactly know why the pick numbers like 905, 907, 909 but to me saying I play a Titliest 907 D2 is no different or confusing than saying I play a Taylormade R9 TP, Callway Diablo Edge, Adams Speedline Fast 10. I also like the idea of Titleist using a number system because 1) its eiser to say and write out. 2) The number system for product models usually is seen in luxary cars. Titleist is easily among the top in balls and clubs so I guess to smaller brands they are some what luxary. jamo
Agreed. Incorporating the model year would be less confusing to the consumer. Titleist's current clubs almost do that, except the 909 series cam out late in 2008.

TyWebb
I like the idea of going back to the "PT" name in some form. PT 460, PT 440 (Titleist Precision Tuned Drivers) I like this the best out of the mentioned names above. I like going with the PT again as they were so popular back in the day. Also, like others said above you can infer from the names of the drivers what they are designed for to some extent.

punchdrunk
TItleist is doing the numbering system with all their clubs now. New 710 irons, 7 standing for iron, 10 for being introduced for model year 2010. same thing with their recent other clubs, 909 h (for hybrid) but 9 standing for metal and 09 standing for 2009, this is only the last few years that they have been doing this, but I like the system.
