Sounds good, good luck with the 2024 season, only one thing you missed, an outing in Victoria BC Canada lol.... I am still enjoying all the MGS has to offer and the discussions that evolve throughout the year...

Well all time to give you a little run down and all things forum and where we are at as well as where we hope to get to this season.

I will kick off with Member Testing - as you have likely seen it is in full swing and we have a good schedule built out and in place already. We will be adding a lot to it over the course of the season and still have on going discussions with several companies. It will be a great season for member testing and one we are very excited to have everyone take part in!

Remember to read the guide on how to be a tester. We will not just pick ppl to pick ppl. All must be qualified and active contributors to be chosen.

The forum so far in January has seen one its best months ever. Period.

Post counts are fantastic and overall activity levels with members and the eyes on the forum has been fantastic. With the new changes to googles SEO system we are seeing a nice boost in traffic and we hope that will translate to more great new members and more people joining the forum and getting involved.

The Forum staff are going to look to continue to bring you a variety of new features, new activities and threads to participate in and enjoy. With the new push on socials watch out for a few give aways from time to time and be sure to follow!

I have already mentioned forum staff articles, but keep an eye on the main site for Matt, Jason, Bryan, Ben, Hayes and Marks articles as they will start dropping tomorrow!

We are continuing to adjust the ad load and tweak that configuration, however the platform we run on (Invision) has a massive update coming which will change a lot. We will not be updating right away as we sort out any bugs and potential short comings of the new system. In addition to the new features it will be adding all of our custom features (VCT, Member testing sign up and more) will all need to be updated prior. However this will bring a fresh look to the forum which we hope makes it look a bit cleaner and just more modern. Stay tuned as we provide updates to when these changes will happen!

The Forum staff have lofty goals and expectations for the 2024 year. 2023 was great, it was a bench mark season for us and one that we haven't seen in a while. With all time highs in several categories. We want 2024 to take another jump, however we are also very aware of our identity and not losing that sense of community. We may be a smaller ish forum, but we still want to grow and keep our core values at the heart of that growth.

We want to see our socials grow, our content on the main site and forum expand. We want to continue to bring excellent member testing to our community with stellar reviews. Additionally we want to grow the outings to be able to host and hold more than one per season in many areas all over the US and hopefully one day over in Europe.

There are so many things going on behind the scenes with the staff its truly a great time to be a member and with the growing community we can only hope to bring you more of a little bit of everything.

So what can you do to help? Tell your friends and golfing peeps about us! Get them to sign up, get involved and make them aware of this awesome community. We don't have a referral program, but if you have friends or colleagues that are curious or nervous, a little nudge goes a long way.

Share or follow us on socials! This is a great way for us to get the word out about the forum and a fantastic way to help the hard work on the socials pay off.

Keep being involved! Posts, activity and new threads all help us get more visibility on google and other platforms.

Bottom line thank you for everyone making the start of 2024 near record breaking and come the new month I will post some more data for those who are interested in diving into that side of things!

This is my favorite golf site. I feel even more growth coming!  Thanks to the leaders for stepping up and doing all this work. I hood to help more in future…. Need to pull my fair share.

Excellent write-up Jamie - it still feels like yesterday that I stumbled on this site, but it truly feels like an incredible community of friends & golf fans (some sickos as well 😂).  I feel like I already know some of you so well, even if it’s just through interactions on this site!

Now that January is over (at least in my timezone)

We finished off with just if 12,600 posts. We came 13 or so shy of 2023 record (May 12,691). However it's January and this was truly awesome to see so thank you to all! Just wow. Not to be one to dwell on the past but for previous January's were were 2019 - 4300, 2020 - 5300, 2021 - 7200, 2022 - 5200, 2023 - 6600. So yeah we crushed it! Thank you to all.

We also had just over 1000 new registrations last month.

That is on pace for what we saw last year with 12,000 new registrations over the season.

Truthfully I hope we see 20k new ppl this year... Fingers crossed.

A great month and I only see this getting bigger and better as we progress!

Less than a hundred posts away is still quite impressive. Especially seeing that it was over 12000 for the month. Great stuff to see.

Thanks for the update, Jamie. It's amazing to see so many people coming to visit us and getting involved, especially in January where a lot of people aren't able to get out and play.

I think that goes to show just how much work the forum staff and the membership have out in to create interesting and engaging topics for the forum.

Big boost from SM drawing attention, plus seeing a ton more of story shares on IG!!!

Wtg! February has 1 extra day, so maybe It will break the record!

I do love to see records, however I still am very conscious of making sure we still have quality posts and content for readers to see and take in. It is great to have numbers, but empty numbers are also just that. Empty.

It is one of the reasons I like this newer method of counting posts and engagement as it does not include any posts made in the testers wanted threads. While those are great, they are also what I consider to be empty posts.

Didn't mean for my comment to come off as shallow. And I agree that quality posts definitely are what make this forum great.

It's why I stayed around. I've learned soooo much more than I thought was possible, amd thats just scrapingthe surface.

I was a just a guy out playing some fun Whack-F#$%! before I joined here. Now I'm playing slightly better whack! with moderately less f#$%!  😆
