What's Your Go To Putter?

Call me crazy but, I’ve been using the Kirkland KS1 for about a year and a half now with pretty positive results. I didn’t like how light the head felt at first, it made me feel like the face was all over the place on the takeaway so, I shoved about 18 grams of lead tape in the removable weights on the bottom. That helped but it still felt too light so, I put three strips of lead tape across the sole. I’m certainly not the best putter but, the added weight has helped me feel like I’m more on plane during takeaway and has led to better putting.

Gaming an Odyssey 11 S. Cured my yips. Have several putters that I am getting ready to sell. 2 of everything because my wife also wants my putter within 6 months of me getting a new one. I thought I broke the cycle when I bought her a Spyder which she loved and I had no interest in. However, just had to fork over moola because she fell in love with the 11 S. 😍

Driver: Callaway Epic 9 degree, stiff (set at 10 degrees with the movable weight in the center}

FW: Callaway Epic 3,5, heaven wood w/ regular shaft (driver shaft in 3 wood, 3 wood shaft in 5 wood, 5 wood shaft in heaven wood, all three set at neutral plus 1 degree)

Hybrids: Callaway BB19 4,6,7 (4 set at neutral plus 1 degree and 6 and 7 set at neutral minus 1 degree for gapping purposes)

Irons: Callaway Rogue ST Max 8, 9, PW

Wedges: Titleist Vokey SM6 50,54,58

Ball: Titleist Pro V1, 1X, Vice Pro Plus or anything I find that day and try out for the fun of it (I haven't bought balls with my own money in at least 10 years)

I picked up a Tommy Armour Impact No. 2 Wide Blade after it did well in MGS testing the second year in a row.  I have been putting really well with that blade.  It will take a special performing putter to get me to change.  I am eyeing Evnroll.  I was recently using one and Evnroll may be that special putter.

I appreciate some of you guys having and using more than one putter but come on, putters are expensive.  I'd like to know why?  everything I read rotates around the need to expand the game by bringing in new players, how are new players expected to pay these inflated prices?

I've always loved the look of a mid-mallet putter, specifically on the Scotty Cameron Del Mar. I was able to find one early 2023 off Facebook marketplace for a very reasonable price.

It has basically been my dream putter for over 10 years, so I don't see myself switching anytime soon. If I did have to make a change at some point, I'd probably get a Scotty Phantom 5.5 just because I love the look of them.

I have 4 putters. a Yes Callie; Odessey White Hot V-Fang; Cleveland HB Soft Milled 11; Ping Karsten TR Aser 5.

The Ping is my go to putter.  The Odessey is my least favorite. I want to like the Cleveland but the Ping keeps it out of the bag. The Yes is the most effective next to the Ping.

Hi All!

My putter for probably about 20yrs + or - has been a Scotty Cameron Newport 2 & I do love it!  When I'm not putting well it's definitely my fault not the putter so I do not go out and buy a new one as I see many others do.  With that said I do have a second putter that I only use in my basement on the putting mat that I have because it's very heavy with good alignment aids and I use it to practice my swing mechanics.  It is an Odyssey Oworks 2 Ball Fang putter.  I have thought about getting a new putter to use in my regular rounds but just never seem to find anything that makes me want to swap out the Scotty.  I am open to changing for the right one if I do come across it.

I will be putting with both of these on this mat just as soon as the Callaway White Box arrives so I am looking forward to that!

I have several putters over the years, the one I use the most is an EvnRoll blade, which is quite heavy but as I have a stronger arc that is good. I also have a Ping Anser 4.  I love both but in my bag most of last year was the EvnRoll.  This year I have more time and expect to work both of them more evenly.  I want to see if there is a significant difference between the 2.

Hi, I am a putter junkie.   I change putters less than I used to but I still like to try new ones.   I think putters can have an influence on your putting stroke, but basic aim, touch, and stroke skills are far more important for putting performance

Here are most of the putters I have; currently the Sacks Parente MC 3 stripe (far right) is in the bag: IMG_0973.jpg.72388a0a7692f396b9fb513f47e82b8f.jpg

Go to for years was Seemore- I always had one as either my primary or alternate for years. Now, I’m an Evnroll man. Tried and true go to since I did something with an Evnroll that I never did in a lifetime of golf- had 12 putts in 9 holes with my EV5.2 Duo. So go to for now….

Gamer #1. Scotty Cameron Squareback. Firmer milled feeling with a bit more forgiveness than the Newport. Plus the looks are A+.

Gamer #2. White Hot OG #7 with a gravity grip, my favorite grip on the market. Hard to not love a #7!

If I ever decide to get a new putter it would be an Evnroll ER5.

My go to putter has always been a mallet putter. My current everyday putter is the Roll-In Model R4, and I have no idea who made it. I found the Roll-In on ebay while I was poking around for lefthanded putters. After the putters arrival I installed a SuperStroke 5.0 & a round face plate. I've been using the Roll-In very effectively for about 5 years in this form.

I spot a seemore putter in there.  I always find myself using a seemire putter and a l.a.b. Putter when I’m putting around at a store.  I’ve become quite the fan of both companies.  Do you use your at all?

Putters?  Oh, there's probably about 50 or so around the house and garage.  Switch out?  Only every other round or so.  I'm probably one of the worst club junkies out there.  And my "go to" if I think I really need to make some putts?  A Pendy face on putter.  They're made by a local teaching pro here in the Phoenix area named Brad Butler.  Super nice guy, and we talk about various theories about putters and putting.  Our local PGA Tour Superstore has putting contests every week, and I've won more than my share with various types of putters and putting styles, but the face on putting has become the most reliable method as I've gotten older.  Get it lined up, and there's just not much to go wrong with the stroke.  Just underhand roll it to the hole.

Yes you do: seemore mFGP2.    I haven't used it in a while. Prior to the Sacks Parente testing,  I was using my TaylorMade putter; which I was fit into back in the 2011 timeframe, the seemore, and a DF2.1.   The DF2.1 and reading some putting instruction opened my eyes to believe the whole torque free thing was simply marketing.  As a result I went back to my TM and began spending more time on skill development.

Play the ping style Anser putter regardless of the Brand.  Best style ever assembled.  I have three putters that I kinda use; Scotty Cameron Special Select Newport 2, Ping Anser PSL black, and Scotty Cameron Super Select Square Back 1.5.  I tend to favor the Square back SC more these days.  Love the milled faces but love the way the SCSB sets up and keeps the ball on line.  If greens are real fast, I go with the Ping, real slow the SC Newport.

Being inspired by the LAB Club champion video going through the series of putters I would love to hear what everyone's go to putter is!

Share a photo if you can! How many putters do you have? Is it always one that stays in the bag or do you switch around?

Having just come off the AI-One Milled test - the main flat stick is of course the AI-One 7T DB, aka “Millie”.  I still have the Versa 7CS which it replaced,  there are a variety of putters in the bags, including a DF 992, Spalding Tournament Cash-in, NWG Ab Putter (works well as a broomstick style). Believe it or not, I have a Tom Stewart hickory shafted putter that I inherited from my Grandfather. It has been authenticated by the St. Andrews Golf Company as "most likely" original and was probably manufactured around 1903. I practiced with it for a few weeks and found that I love the feel from a hickory putter.

I use it in all Hickory Tournaments and have started using it in regular rounds with my "steel clubs". Like the old Bulls Eye putters, once you get used to the feel, they are hard to put down.

My only other putters are a Scotty Cameron Newport II (Tei3),  which I've had for a decade and a Pyramid Altec Series, AZ-11
