Faux leather durability in warm climates

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

more and more premium bags (vessel, the new ogio, etc.) use a faux leather as the main material. I like the look but it is making me pause: Florida’s hot and humid weather claimed the life of all my headcovers made with similar material.. does anyone have experience with these bags in similar weather conditions for more than a couple of years?

My bags are not faux leather, but I have two fairway wood covers that are.  I purchased them about a year ago and they are exposed to the heat and humidity of Key West.  They get a lot of use (on and off) and it's starting to show around the piping. It's general wear and it's somewhat obvious.  I'm sure heat and humidity play a role, but I would also add UV light as well.  It can also be a problem for that material.
