Dylan17Patel
I just broke 90 for the first time on Tuesday... have been playing golf for just over a year now and I've felt I've been ready for a breakthrough. Odd thing though is that I had 7 pars a birdie and 6 double bogeys a triple bogey and 3 bogeys... I could've easily shot 85 but I let a few holes get the best of me mentally and that's where I fall Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy Kenny B, MaxEntropy, chisag and 4 others

JAGolfore
Played our qualifying round for a 2 man scramble (match play) yesterday. My father-in-law and I shot 64 (-8). That should put us in the first flight. Just outside of the championship flight. We were told this year there are 8 flight (64 teams). That is a great field and we are looking forward to the weekend. 2 matches Saturday and the finals for the flights on Sunday. PING Apologist #9
Played a pretty decent round yesterday that would have easily broke the century mark the first time for me pretty easily. But the par-5 6'th had "other" plans for me. I had just come off of a solid par on #5 and was feeling pretty good about everything and the Golf God's must have heard me thinking... Posted a round-killing "other" 11! Just could not do anything right and is was a total pooch screw. Drank a beer while waiting for the group ahead to clear the par-3 and just continued on with a "normal" round of bogey+ golf. Finished with a 105. Coulda, woulda, shoulda... fozcycle
I played Lakeside in Lexington KY today. My High School buddy couldn't play as he is recovering from spinal surgery. He did chip and putt. First time playing there the course was in fabulous shape....greens were rolling fast. I played 6500 yards(my usual is 5500) and shot a 49/43:92, finished with pars on 17 & 18. After we finished, I took Bill to his car and while he was standing next to the cart, he just collapsed. I recovered hi. And we sat on the tarmac I only had water and a pack of nabs for him to eat. Well, he collapsed a second time, then a third time, just blacked out and fell to the tarmac. I revived him. And after a few moments got him to go to the pro sho0 where he ate a Snickers and a Mountain Dew .....my guess is his blood sugar was extremely low. Scared the you know what out of me.....anyway, I made sure he was okay to drive home. I offered to drive him home but he said he was okay. An hour later he called to say he made it home. yungkory
Fairways at the local munis are getting pounded by the heat and are hard as eff. Smoked a drive today that bounced so high off of the fairway it gave me a ridiculous amount of extra roll out that it ended up in the lake that I've never come close to reaching. The lake is on the ride side of the hole but follows the dog leg left, the only time you're in trouble is if you block one or slice it right, but my natural ball flight is a draw. Expecting it to draw, but pounded it straight and it bounced 80 feet in the air and into the drink eventually. Couldn't do anything except laugh. Couldn't hole a putt and 3 jacked twice and shot +5 with a birdie on 9. TR1PTIK
Yesterday I made the drive out to Peoria Ridge in Miami, OK and shot an 84. I got stuck behind a foursome that didn't seem to want me to play through (I literally drove up to the tee on 2 holes with half their group still to hit - they finally let me through on the 3rd) and that kinda messed up my rhythm as evidenced by the two monsters I put up on #9 & #10. Aside from that, it wasn't too bad. I probably could have taken a little more time on a couple of short putts that would have yielded additional birdies or saved par but I'm not complaining. I don't think I've ever broke 90 on this course before! Sluggo42
I had one of my worst hitting days in recent memory- But then out of nowhere, my recovery game showed up. Shot a 75, but easily could have been 80+ As +5 thru 10, then parted out with 4 one-putts and even 3-putted once on a par 5 when I was putting for an eagle! But that's the toughest green there and pin placement was ugly. So the moral of this story, is that there is more than one way to skin a cat. I actually thought Of the Rev after a few of those saves, thinking he would give the nod of approval after the second sandy par. russtopherb
Shot a 37 on a par 27, but I had a blast with my son and my dad. Family rounds are the best. I had 3 GIR and 2 others were just off by a foot or so. Only lost one ball to the drink and of course it was on the very last hole. I was leaving everything short with the putter today, which I'll blame on using a new ball for the first time LOL! My father dropped his glove while walking to a tee box, so I ran back a ways on the path and found it. I grabbed it, & started trotting back to my dad & son when both of them started going nuts. Apparently a giant buck ran less than 10 feet right behind me from the woods on one side of the path to the other. RoverRick
I played pretty well today, for a change. The tee shot has been the bane of my existence the last few weeks. But today I shot a 118. I played 27 holes and that was a 79 and 38. Now that I have had a nap, I can't remember which holes went with which round. But overall, I hit 17 of 21 fairways. 3 birdies, one was a chip in, and just 2 double bogeys all day. On the first 18, I had 5 well struck putts that came within inches of going in the hole. By that I mean if I had them to do over again I would hit them the same, but perhaps a tiny bit firmer, and they may have gone in. But they were downhill putts and I was a bit too timid. chisag, Rickp, GB13 and 1 other 4 Quote G430 LST 10.5° on T P T POWER 18 Hi Driver G430 Max 15° on T P T POWER 18 Hi Fairway iCrossover 3i on T P T POWER 18 Hi Hybrid iCrossover 4i on Graphite Design ADDI 7S i525 5-U on TGI 90 S SM9 54° & 58° on Wedge DF2.1 on White LINK1on T P T Putter (on order) ProV1 Precision Pro NX7 Pro All Iron grips are BestGrips Micro-Perforated Mid
chisag
... Another crazy day on the golf course. I love that any given day can be such an adventure. Started off very stiff after sitting in seats last night for 2:20 hours watching Radiohead in concert (unbelievable show!) as well as another 40 minutes for the warm up band. It felt like someone else was swinging the club. Managed a par after coming up short on #1, then hit a 2 iron left of the fairway on #2 and just hit a horrible shot from 110 in deep rough short of the green in thicker rough ending in a bogie. Next hole a par 3 I somehow hit a decent iron shot and made par. Next hole is one of my favorite par 5's and I pulled my drive left, hit the cart path and bounded into the woods. Dropped and hit a nice hybrid to 100 yds and then shanked my 54* wedge! Another bogie. Next hole pulled my drive left again into weeds again and hacked out into thick rough resulting in a 3rd bogie in the first 4 holes. This was the worst start I can remember in quite a long time.Parred the next hole, a short par 3 hitting it to 6 feet but missed the very makable birdie putt. Pulled my tee shot again leaving me just short of the heather and 210 out on the next par 4. WTF?!? The wheels were definitely wobbly and in danger of coming off completely. But a 2some was waiting behind us and we let them play thru as my son and wife were looking for his ball in the heather on the other side of the hole. They hit one bad shot after another slowly making their way up the fairway. But that break turned out to be exactly what I needed. Stretched my back out some and 15 minutes later hit the green with my second shot as my swing seemed to magically re-appear. Made 4 birdies the rest of the round. Holed a 40 footer on #17 to get me to 1 under for the day. If we had not let that 2some thru I have no idea what would have happened but it was certainly not looking good. Amazing the things that can turn a round around. GB13, Sluggo42, russtopherb and 4 others 7 Quote Driver: Qi10 10.5* ... AutoFlex Dream 7 SF405 Fairway: Qi10 5 wood ... Kenny B
Shot 78 today... 41/37. 4 birdies but 3 doubles. Could have been a special round. The last 3 holes were double, birdie, double. Played with 2 young dudes; both must have had swing speeds over 115, but couldn't hit the ball straight. One guy was OK with everything but his driver. On the 11th tee after slicing his tee shot on #10 he said "I think I'll put the driver away for the rest of the round. What do you think?" I said, "That's a great idea." The other guy sort of reminded me of Tony Finau in looks and build. He could not hit a controlled shot; nice swing until he tried to hit the ball; many tee shots only went 20 yards. He was also the worse putter I have ever seen; even me when I started playing golf. Every putt went by the hole 5-6 feet, even ones from 5-6 feet. He 4 and 5 putted several holes. Alf. GolfSpy_APH
First full round with the G400. Didn't loose a ball, worst shot was just left rough and manages 11/18 GIR. Ended with a solid 2 birdies and 74 over all ( 3 over) now had I only not bogeyed the last few par 3's. Game has really been coming around with the warmer weather and I can feel myself a lot closer to breaking par at some point this summer! Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk MattF, Alf. Popular Post BigtazzGolf
Write it down fellas. Ole Tazz sneaked up and carded a 79 today at Fair Oaks in Oakland, TN. Only the 3rd time to post under 80. Driver was well it was present lol every other club did yeomans work today. Only 7 fairways and 7 girs but 29 putts lol. Bunch of chip ups close to pin. No birdies, 12 pars and rest bogeys. Our league tournament is next week so hopefully some range time with the driver and I can figure out what's going wrong. It is a crazy game! Undershooter
Day 2 of a 2man shamble today at a little cc in the middle of nowhere. We played mediocre and shot 67. -5 through 9 then finished -5 bc of 3 bogies on the back. One of which is why I'm posting. I had a 4 foot par putt that fell in the hole, hit the plastic edge of the cup and popped out. It's the second time I've ever seen this happen. Have any any of yall ever had this happen? I can't help but feel cheated in a way.
