Josh Parker
Somehow the wife decided to let me play 9 holes on her birthday yesterday and we took our daughter to ride on the "tart tart". She didn't want to go in to town and the weather was perfect, so we loaded up and went to the course. I played the back 9 which is the harder of the two and shot even par. I had 2 birdies and the new driver shaft may be staying in the bag. I have some work to do with turning my hands over but it had a much improved ball flight and distance. UNCRoss
Got out for 9 holes yesterday with my dad! Hadn’t played in nearly 2 months. Took the new Caley 01’s out on the course for the first time and was more than impressed! Hit my new driver that my dad got me for Christmas terrible on the first 2 holes and then really dialed it in. Last 3 drives according to SwingU were 272,258,and 273 all in the fairway. Popular Post sirchunksalot
I went out and got 9 in today before my wife got out of bed. I didn't play great, but I didn't play too bad either. I had parts of my game that were working and others that were terrible. I shot 56 with 14 putts. The putting statistic is a bit misleading since I Texas wedged quite a few shots. I actually sunk one from off the green from around 30 feet. My first putt from off the fringe was a downhill slick one that rolled way past the flag leaving me off the other side. I hit driver better today than my last round, I only lost two balls off the tee. It started out a little rough and after making an adjustment, it was more of a weapon. My approach game and chipping were horrendous. Wesley Snipes showed up today in a big way. I had another chip run off the 7th again. I'm going to have to learn the right side of that green is death. Overall, it was a fun day on the course. I'm still working through adjustments having a bad right ankle. I need to get out and practice, but want to play and that's were the practice is going to happen. Popular Post ParFore74x
Not a great ball striking round at all today. There were moments where I wondered if I knew what I was doing. All good though, I’ll have a few months to reset and come out strong for 2024. Pretty thick fog today had a maximum visibility of around 250 yards or so. I had a lot of fat shots on the wet ground for some reason today paired up with some not-so-great wedge play around the greens. 49/49, 98 was a bit of an eye opener for me. Still had a great time especially considering the time of year. Tee box on 1st hole at 7:40 Looking back on 18th fairway at 10:30. I went back to the dashboard on ShotScope and had 14 putts and hit the putter 21 total times yesterday. I guess that's also a statement on how bad my wedge game was. It's interesting to know that a wedge on the green is considered a putt, I didn't know that and thank you for that bit of knowledge. I know, I know, shouldn't have the ball to that part of the green!! For this reason I practice my 60º wedge off very tight fringe around the practice putting green. Kenny B
I haven't played much lately because of my sore knee and frankly, it's just cold!! Didn't play last weekend, but walked the back nine on Tuesday. But yesterday was such a gorgeous day; while only 39º when we teed off, it was sunny and NO wind!!!! My wife and I played with a couple we know but haven't play with before, and we had a lot of fun! He's a decent stick... for a Lefty!! I started off with a bogey on the 1st hole, which is a short par 4 and is usually an easy par. But then I parred the other holes on the front nine, except for #6 when I took a nap and got a double bogey! ,,, so a front nine +3 score of 40. The back nine consisted of 4 bogeys and 2 birdies, for a back nine +2 score of 37... My 77 was my first round in the 70's since the weather turned cold. Swing didn't feel too bad even though I was wearing many layers. The highlight of the day was on the par 3 #15; both my wife and I made birdie. I don't know which birdie was more impressive... mine was an uphill 25-foot L2R putt that broke 12 inches or my wife's 18-inch tap-in. BallsLeon
Played a sim round this morning at Black Desert Resort (71.2/126, 6466 yds). Shot a 90 (48 out, 42 in w/ 31 auto-putts), not too bad for me! Differential ends up being my 2nd best of the year (16.9), and my Trackman HCP dropped to 17.7. The rocks surrounding the fairways helped out a little bit with bounces, but also put me in really bad situations (2 triples, and 3 doubles). Did a good job minimizing damage around the greens, and was chipping pretty close to the hole and even chipped in to save par on hole 1. Popular Post IndyBonzo
Had a great time today in the unseasonably warm weather. Played one of the few open public courses, Bluff Creek south of Indy, for the first time. The tees were winter tees, meaning we hit in front of the normal tee boxes, so the course played shorter. I will report more in the Otto-Phlex thread, but my Christmas present driver shaft was money for me today, both in terms of length but even more importantly accuracy. 57% FH is very high for me, and the misses were in the short cuts so very playable. Putting came around once I adjusted to the longer winter grass on the greens. 33 putts is not bad. Irons were solid all day too. And I got to join up with another single for the back nine, and we hit it off well. All in all, it was a very fun time. The score was 39-38-77 (+5). And I got to join up with another single for the back nine, and we hit it off well. All in all, it was a very fun time. The score was 39-38-77 (+5). That would be a PB for me, but I hesitate to count it given the somewhat shorter hole lengths. But I will take it and smile all through Christmas! Happy holidays to all you Spies! Count it!! Still a PB... congratulations! rkj427, sirchunksalot, cnosil and 2 others 4 1 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

You can only play the course that’s available, so it absolutely counts. Congrats on the PB! May it be a springboard to lower scores consistently. Well done! sirchunksalot
Congratulations on the PB @IndyBonzo! It doesn't matter if you were playing a slightly shorter course, you played the course as it was presented. Great job! Popular Post Tom the Golf Nut
It got up to a beautiful 67* and sunny today. It was great to be able to shed the jacket after a few holes. The golf game is still holding up well , but the first few iron shots were hand stingers. Hitting blades at 38 * will wake you up. But I was happy it warmed up quick. Typical round today. A few birdies a couple of bogies. I needed a birdie on the par 5 eighteenth hole to keep my streak alive. I hit a good drive followed by a good hybrid leaving me 85 yards to the pin. Here is the lay up shot. All that was left was 90 yards over the river to the pin. I hit it to within 10 feet and drained the putt. For yet another 70. Sure hate the dormant fairways. Golf should be on green fairways. But I’ll take it. It’s December and I’m playing golf. Having company tomorrow and my Brother -In-Law asked if we could sneak out and play 9 tomorrow. Hmmmm it’s got me thinking.
