Back home, but I have played the CdA Resort course before.  Definitely a must play!  I had never been to Circling Raven, so that was why we went there this trip.

I'm on a good stretch, and this past weekend was interesting.  Saturday, I was 4 under after 6, finished the front in 32, a personal best, with 5 birdies.  Still at -3 through 15, but that was where I closed out my match with my wife.  We always keep track of a match when we play together, and she wins her share and more.  Well, my concentration died when the match was over, and I finished double-double-par for 73 (71.0, 132).  BTW, when we finished 4, and I was 3 under, the match was even, she really did play well. 

Sunday, much less drama, 2 birdies, 2 bogeys, and one double, for a solid 74.  

In just a couple of day my index will drop to 2.6, lowest of my life by almost a full point.  Don't know how long this can last, but its a fun ride right now.  If I can keep it up through the coming weekend, I can make some noise in our Club Championship.

Great last night on 8 of 9 holes...would have shot 39...

 

5th hole got me good where I carded my first 9 of the season 😣. Par 4 with bunkers on either side of the green, of which I saw both multiple times. Wasn't pretty at all.

 

Ended up shooting 44 but the what if irks me.

I'm not so sure, I think I may have finally recovered from playing in the dunes and the wind in Ireland.

I played Saturday with my dad and my wife.  We had a great time.  I ended up hitting the ball very well (I think) but not really scoring.  I shot 72 (E).  For as well as I hit the ball I was a little disappointed with the score.  But I have a rule that if I shot Even or better I can not be mad about it.  It has taken me a few days to process what I am about to share thou.  My stats for the round were very good for me. 79% of Fairways hit, 67% of Greens and 30 putts.  With those stats ill take that round every time, minus a few putts.  I have also started to use Strokes Gained to help me improve my game, and what I found out was shocking.

So after seeing this, going with Fairways, Greens and Putts is not a fair way to track my stats. Obviously putting is the one area and its 5-15 feet that I need work. Funny how those are the putts the guys on tour when they win they do not miss.

A frustrating 48. Finally hit driver well, but the putter...THE FREAKING PUTTER was colder than the north pole. And I managed to hit a 221yd 7 iron(downhill and hasn't rained in a week, but still) that went over the green on a par 5 from 180 out.

New personal best +2 74!

 

Personal best 15 greens in regulation. Was throwing darts all day. Made 3 birdies and lipped out 3 others. Had one double bogey due to being buried in the lip of a fairway bunker.

Played day one of our three day Ryder Cup at my club. Two man scramble and we had to give 10 shots. My partner and I were -3 through 14 and lost 5 and 4. All three of our birds were to halve holes including the two I made naturally on our two hardest holes. Tough to get crushed when you are actually playing very well.

81 nett 75 today after a week of sickness. Dosed up prior to my round, played really well on the front, 1 over with 2 X 3 putts. Lost the plot on 10&11 with a 4 putt, followed by a 5 putt. Managed to get things back together and finished the 9 8 over after being 7 over on 10-12.

 

Sitting equal 8th on club champs list, with top 8 to qualify for matchplay. Scores were bad overall, with only 1 player from the entire morning field beating their handicap, nett 71 best score in.

Played day 2 of our Ryder Cup and after a nice 75 in the wind I lost 3&2. Drove it fairly awful and got up and down from pretty much everywhere. Shot of the day was the hole out wedge on 9 from the cart path. Best club in the bag today was the 62* wedge.

Strokes gained compared to what? Someone at your handicap level? I'm curious how this works for non your players.

82. Played like a dog that gets beat too much. I can't believe that by the 12th hole I'm so exhausted I can barely stand let along swing a club. I even rented a pull cart today. My lovely wife suggested I buy one so I need to add that to the list.

I used to be in shape but I've had medical issues that didn't allow me to exercise. Yes, I plan on running (which I hate) so I can play better

Crashed back to earth today with an 83 (+11). Went double, bogey, double on holes 3-5 but still finished front nine at +4. Back 9 was awful at +7 with 2 pars

Scored a 40 on the front until rain cancelled the round......hanging out in the Pub, rain stopped so I went back out for a soggy 43 on the back.....83 gaming Mizzy JPX800(6 - 8) & SCOR(41*, 45*, 49*, 53* & 57*) irons......struck the ball well but ankle started giving out on me even with the brace. I'll take a day off then have a 20 player Labor Day Game on Monday.

Scored a 40 on the front until rain cancelled the round......hanging out in the Pub, rain stopped so I went back out for a soggy 43 on the back.....83 gaming Mizzy JPX800(6 - 8) & SCOR(41*, 45*, 49*, 53* & 57*) irons......struck the ball well but ankle started giving out on me even with the brace. I'll take a day off then have a 20 player Labor Day Game on Monday.

Shot 74 today in Day 3 of my club's Ryder Cup. Gave my opponent 4 shots and won 3&2. The match was essentially over on the 2nd hole we played when I made eagle on top of his birdie. Won the next two holes and spent most of the round 3 up. Closed it out when I drove it into the fringe and matched birdies on our final hole. Overall played very well and putted like a crazy man. Just about anything I looked at went in today.

Played in a mixed scramble with my wife yesterday. We had the lead and then the last 2 holes we wet the bed big time. I did manage to sneak a closest to the pin (best bladed 9 iron of all time haha) had fun and love it when I get to play with her. Probably her last time until next year, being 25 weeks pregnant.

I ran a Labor Day Game today, with 21 Players. I shot an 88, and did not win anything. What was nice was it did not rain and the sun was shining. The course was cart path only but was in terrific shape considering the Hurricane last week.
