Yesterday was brutal! Not only the humidity was high but my score stunk worst than a stud skunk in a farting contest!

96 big ones and I had more hooks than a pimp on Broadway .

Oh well this too shall pass

This morning 90's with high humidity feels like 108'.

Shot 41 front played OK, but got loose 44 for an 85.

Everything considered I'm happy with that.

Could be a lot worse.

Played a nice track called Tierra Rejada yesterday from tips, 7017 yds

Was 92°

Shot an 80, and I thought I played pretty well.

One par 3 was 206, so I hit my 19° hybrid. First shot I pulled about 30 feet deep into the mountain junk....

Reload

Put my second shot about 8" above pin. For a tap in 4 haha

Fairways are dry and hard- actually a little hard to hit off of. But drives rolled out well, which helped immensely. Needed long drives on this track

... One of my favorites! Not so much for the golf per se, but oh the views! And some tee shots down the mountain are just magnificent. I was visiting from Chicago and had my remote cart with me. I got a good Golfnow rate at Tierra and told the guy at the desk I didn't need the cart as I was going to walk the course. He kinda laughed and said "I don't think so. Please take the cart and after 9 if you think walking would have been better, I will treat you to a free walking round". LOL, it didn't take long to see his wisdom as I would have been toast by hole 4.

... Started off the front nine today with 3-5-3-3-5-3-4-3-3. Really weird to start off a course with an island par 3 but that is exactly how Tanna Farms does it. And while all those 3's look good, there are 4 par 3's on the front! Par 71 with 3 par 5's on the back and two of them are over 600 yds. Ended up even going -2 on the front and +2 on there back. But still, six 3's on 9 holes feels pretty cool.  :)

I played my first round in four months today....long story short, I got pissed off in March and needed to take a break. Went out on the course with zero expectations today and shot a 77. Maybe I'll pick up the game again. Or maybe I'll just take another break so I can keep shooting low scores. The thing I find most interesting is I took out the oldest set I own (original Ping Karsten ll's) and hit the piss out of the ball.

After work today, my wife and I played 9 holes and were joined by a couple of ladies from the ladies league that my wife occasionally plays in.  "The women... how much for the women?"   :D

The ladies wanted to play from the White tees, so I played there as well instead of the usual Blue tees.  Not the best of nights for me; I shot basically the same score as usual... +5.  I was in better position off the tee but couldn't follow up a decent tee shot with a decent second.  I missed some makable birdies too.  Playing up a tee was especially nice on the par 5 #18 hole; I can drive the ball down the fairway far enough that I don't have to go over, under or around a big tree at the dogleg.  Maybe when I get old enough, I'll move up!!   :P

We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

Sorry to hear that for two reasons:

  1. My winter vacation this year in January is Palm Springs, and I was hoping that we could hook up for a round.
  2. I lived in Fargo my sophomore year in H.S.  Worse winter of my life!!  Best of luck.

Thanks! I know. It was a bummer to have to move (I actually was told the company was moving on the day after I golfed in Palm Springs.)

Played 9 after work today. Was going well after the first 5 holes, 2 over which is below average for me. Then it just fell apart :(

I think I was so stoked to get the new irons on the course that I forgot how to hit my driver. 3 of my drives really leaked right on me. Oh well, shower off and get better next time. I was pretty deadly on the par 3's which is usually the worst part of my game. That #mizunobro confidence in my sticks now really showing! Need to practice more within 100 yards for sure.

Also, the Vice Pro+ is 100% my favorite ball that I've played since I started playing again this year.

Stared the front 9 with back to back 6 6

Ended the back 9 with 6 8

3 of the scores were from the far.

32 putts

Was behind 4 people playing best ball, they would not let us through,

Over 5 hours is ridiculous, over 4 is long time. That's one of the reasons golf looses people is the sloow play. The course should have done something about it also.

Your more patient than me.

Went to practice and since the course was empty played a quick 47 minutes quick nine. I played it back - blue tees all the way.

Shot a 38 despite not having a chance to reach two of the par 4's in regulation. I pared one of them anyway and had a 10 footer for par on the other.

I played ok today shot 75 today, but I felt so tired. I carried my lite bag with 7 clubs so it's not the bag. At the turn I felt a little light headed so I stopped for some sandwich and cold sodas, felt better so I continued on.

Last dr visit, he told me that I'm anemic and my iron count is dangerously low and sent me home with supplements, I felt a bit better for the last few weeks so I decided to get some exercise in. Another member was riding and caught me on the 12th so I hitched a ride with him and played the redt of the back nine. So I guess I'm going to be riding for the next few weeks. Now I'm craving a bloody rare steak, it's weird.

Maybe you saw the wrong doctor. You're not pregnant are you?

In all seriousness, nice round fighting through the fatigue. Don't push it too hard out there though. There will always be another day to play.

Played in a really strong wind today, probably didn't quite get to the forecast 40mph, but was very tough. Knock down 4 hybrid from 145 yards worked well into the wind a few times. Had 11 over playing off 7, but wasn't disappointed. First round with new MCC Plus 4 grips, felt like I was releasing the club better, but need to put some work int o chipping with them. Drove the ball about as good as I could.

Played my local track on Thursday morn, shot a 2 over 72

Even thru the front, with one bird and one boogie

The back was a wild ride though,

Bogie, birdie, bogie, birdie, bogie, birdie, bogie, par, bogie.

So basically I shot some crap, and some great shots !?!?!!!

I had a chance to par most of the bogies, but missed the putts narrowly

, but, the birdies were all similar length putts that did fall, so putting is pretty good.

I basically wasn't hitting very good second shots

... First time I took my PAT test for the IPGA in April here in Chicago, the winds were abut 30mph and the temp was mid 30's with a windchill in the teens. Nobody passed the test that day and we al thought they should have postponed it. You play two rounds in one day and I don't think anyone even attempted a second round.

They should not even have allowed us out. They let one group out after me and closed the first tee until noon. Is what it is and I spent some time at a range near my house with my son. Not much better than watching him work on his game.

.... The PAT tests (playing ability test) are all scheduled well in advance and the course is shut down so it would lose all revenue for that day. Just a situation that sucked and a lesson to never book in advance in April or even early May in Chicago. Of course on this given day they probably would not have had more than a few die hards wearing down so they wouldn't have lost much.

April/May in Chicago similar to Northeast usually wet & cold. Let's not forget the occasional late season snow.

They should not even have allowed us out. They let one group out after me and closed the first tee until noon. Is what it is and I spent some time at a range near my house with my son. Not much better than watching him work on his game.

Men's Golf Association Modified Alternate Shot tournament today, both players hit their drive then you choose the best drive and play out with an alternate shot format.

My partner and I started really rough with double, bogey, bogey and then we flipped a switch on the next hole with our first birdie. So we were 4 over through 3 holes and then we played the next 15 holes in 3 under to post a 1 over a 73 to win low gross in the tournament!

We would have won low net as well but you can't win both. Just had to share, it was a really fun day on the course.
