Rusty1885
It was an unusually quiet today I went out to the range at my club to work on my short game and left handed clubs. I was going to play a nine left handed. Then I ran into another friend a high handicap lefty so after the warm up we went and play. My round was ok shot 75 missa couple of “easy†pars but made several par “savesâ€. Then we decided to play another 9 left handed. Mind you, he may be a high handicap but he could still get the ball out there over 200. I only carry irons and not a full set, I borrow his 5 hy and put it out there 170. It was not easy but after a few holes I got the hang of it. When we get to 120 range I know I can hole it out in 3. Made a lot of doubles but made pars on both par 5s which surprises me the most. I feel pretty invincible shooting 48. It's fresh seeing the course from the other side of the box. I'll do my best to put in a few nines a month. cksurfdude and Canucklehead
yungkory
Put the new Tour B XS is play today and managed to put that same ball in my bag after the 18th. It's a really good ball. More to come in the reviews later. I played consistently inconsistent and shot 86 with a triple, and a 4 putt on 18. Short par 5, 460 yards I hit a pretty nice drive and had 180 into the wind left for my 2nd, with the pin guarded by water. Bailed out left center of green with a really nice 4i for me, about 50 feet from pin. The green was all sloping back towards the water so it was a really touchy eagle putt. Felt like I barely tapped it, and it went 15 feet passed the hole. Totally choked on the putt back up the hill, and missed the third from 4 feet. Talk about a choke! Trout Bum
I got out with my son yesterday at a new to me course in Charlotte (Ballantyne) and man my game was on, I shot a 37/37 on a par 71 with 3 birdies and no horrendous holes/ He usually beats me on courses at 6700 and longer but I took him to Gray's woodshed. I put the MP37 2 iron back in the bag and I have to say, that thing is just different than my TM blades, it sounds different, feels different and even though I don't hit it high, it goes where I want it to. It felt really good to have a good round after a long hot summer with very little play or practice, not bragging, just sharing my excitement. cksurfdude, ole gray, Rusty1885 and 3 others

Rusty1885
Went to a local par 3 course, it's an 18 holes course ranging from 153-100 yards. I had fun playing left handed yesterday so did it again today. Typical Sunday crowd lots of people out there we all had a great time. I missed a few left and a few right a few short and a few long but refused to let it bring me down, plus the 3 guys I played with were just your typical genuine nice guy. We came to the 11th hole one of the guy said that he's a lefty but play right handed, he asked if he could hit my LH club I said sure. He hit a decent one, I said he should switch. Then I hit mine LH and dropped another ball grab my RH wedge and hit a good shot, he turn around and said you should switch for sure . I shot a nice 79 today, but it could have been better. I didn't think it was going to be a good round; made the turn at +5, but shot +2 on the back with an uphill birdie putt that stopped an in short in the jaws and another birdie putt that did a 270* lip out. Kor.A.Door
Shot 40-41, for a stupid 81. I cannot make a putt from 3-4 feet right now, I missed 5 of them in this round, and another 4 from the previous weeks round. My lag putting is horrible right now as well. I am leaving probably 95 percent of all of my putts short right now. The only things I can think of is: 1. my depth perception is way off, 2. I am holding on to the putter and not releasing it to the hole. MattF and Rickp 2 Quote Lefties are always in their Right Mind
MDGolfHacker
Finally, finally, finally got out, albeit a best ball tourney, but none the less it was golf! The weather was blustery in the AM with winds gusting 30-40mph at times. Even with the sun out, it was cold. It eventually warmed up, but unfortunately, the swing didn't. Made a few 25ft putts and an approach here and there to help the team out, but the rust on the game definitely showed. Sad thing is, this was probably my last time to golf, range and otherwise. Kenny B
Monday is walking day with the guys at the club. Not many people out today; chilly and windy but the sun was out. I forgot to put my Ultimitten cart mitt on my pushcart, and my hands were cold for the first 6 holes. I managed a 41 on the front (+4) and 38 on the back (+3). No doubles or "others" but only one birdie on #14. Driver did not work well today; drives were in play, just not as long as normal. cksurfdude
Played pretty well for 12 or 13 holes of an 18 hole Par 3 course near the beach. Somehow I managed to take a wrong turn off of one green and cut off the last few holes of the first 9 and the first one or two of the second 9 .. by the time I realized it I was finishing #14 and onto #15! D'oh! (Yeah that's how concentrated I was on my game yesterday .. haha....) The wind was up out of the West/Southwest, and a lot of the course is exposed to it, so it was blowing upper 20s .. plus gusts .. coming from a differing side each hole as each 9 is arranged in a loop (you go around roughly clockwise on each loop). Anyway, did well hitting a bunch of greens .. or coming close; holes are only 60 to 100 yds but kept the ball low and in control in the wind. Putting - on the slow greens - was mostly good. Had a few three putts, though, which made for a few Bogeys, but also made a bunch of Pars .. which I'm happy with given the wind. It's also the best I've played that track - and much better than about two months ago, too! I was pretty much out by myself, except for a lot of deer browsing around. At one point I had to shoo a group off the green I was trying to hit onto. Saw one buck - no, you can't hunt them here - but he took off when he saw me walking in his direction. Then I got to the last hole and lost "it", that indefinable magic mojo whatever that lets you just swing and play the game. #18 was a 100 yarder dead straight into the wind that now felt like it had picked up to 40. All of a sudden I wasn't comfortable on the tee and my shot went a little right only to get pushed further right by the wind and into the ball-eating gorse. First ball I'd lost BTW, another personal scoring record for that course. Second attempt I keep low and straight but it gets b****-slapped down by a gust .. so I'm lying 3 and still short of the green.... Pitch up goes off-course so it's 5 to get on .. 2 putts to finish .. 7..... So despite a not so great finish I'm still happy with the way I hit the ball all the other holes. This course is great wedge practice, and I felt like I'm starting to learn to adjust for the wind. Yea! Rickp, Kenny B and Rusty1885 3 Quote WITB of an "aspiring" play-ah ... I had a scheduled tee time with my friend so I ground it out. Not a bad round. I thought about what CKSD said about how my left handed play had affected my last round play.
