chisag
Terrible on Monday evening(115). First round after my lessons. I was overthinking every swing. Played this afternoon and shot 91 along with a 320 yard drive into the group in front of us who then proceeded to throw my ball into the woods. Ha! But much more consistent and the new swing is feeling real good! ... I am really upset when a ball comes flying into our group or bounces into us with velocity. But a ball from 300+ yds away that rolls onto the green when we are putting is something I just clap for. I have played with some that get upset and I never understand why. A great shot should be applauded not disdained. HardcoreLooper, cksurfdude, MattF and 5 others 8 Quote Driver: Qi10 10.5* ... Ventus Red Velocore 5R Fairway: Qi10 5 wood ... A great shot should be applauded not disdained. That is how I felt as well. It was 397 Yard Par 4 and 3 of the four were already on the green. The fourth was just behind a hill in front of the green so you could not see him. It was not like I expected to hit a drive that far. I typically hit 250-275. robertson153
Tonight started our league play. It was a nice 58* and oh yeah it poured down rain. 4 man scramble format, 9 holes. We finished -5 which I thought would be good enough given the horrible conditions. It wasn't. It took -6. But it was the first night. Every Thursday from now till end of September. Still a lot of golf to be played. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy MattF and cnosil 2 Quote CobraConnectChallenge3
cksurfdude
Total flip-flop from two days ago.... That ever happen to anyone? Topped every tee shot, except the two Par 3s where one went wide right and one was short. At least the short game was .. mostly .. decent; almost chipped one in from about 15 feet off the green. tony@CIC
My confession - I went out to shake the winter rust off the clubs the other day. WTH - 8 balls lost in the water ? Almost had to head back to the pro shop to reload. Needless to say my score was a horrible horrible 115. Went back out the next day and got a more respectable (for me) 93 - but still had one in the water and a triple on a par 3. How does that happen? chisag
... No matter what your level of play, there are ups and downs for everyone, just to different degrees. I had another stellar day with the P790's hitting 14 of 15 greens and played another favorite course that had recently aerated, although they were small holes and somewhat puttable. With one birdie and one bogie thru 15 I was looking to go under par with the 3 holes remaining after hitting a big drive right in the middle on 16. 178 to a back pin and decided to hit a knockdown 5 iron and just hit it fat shooting it low and right. Hit a good LW to 7 feet but missed the putt on the aerated green. ... Next hole is a 158yd par 3 with water guarding the left side and a pretty strong wind had picked up the last 4 holes so I decided to hit a full 9 iron just over the edge of the water and let it drift back to the middle of the green. But I could feel my subconscious mind over riding my active brain on the downswing and instead of releasing the club I held off the rotation guaranteeing I would not be in the water, but that pushed the shot to the middle of the green with a slight cut to start and the wind took it further right ending up in very deep rough for a downhill chip/pitch. Guarding against hitting it into the water, I just didn't hit it hard enough and barely got on the green, then 2 putted for my second bogie in a row. I went from hitting every green but one, and feeling like I could pull off any shot and looking at a second sub par round in a row to stumbling into the clubhouse missing the last 3 greens. Parred on the last hole, again having to chip and save par. To me, this is golf in a nutshell and no matter how good or how bad you are playing it can turn around in one shot and completely change the direction of your round. 00sportsman, cnosil, MattF and 5 others 8 Quote Driver: Qi10 10.5* ... Yup, I've stumbled in probably more than anyone . Rickp
League play tonight; shot 1 over par. Short game was good, made solid contact on all but 1 of my chips. Team got the win to move to 2-4 on the season. Happy with where my game has been over the past few weeks. And it's still early in the season.
