How'd you play?

Yeah... don't get me wrong... they're all good guys but only about 2-3 I'd play with outside of the league.

My wife has encouraged me to join a league, partly to meet more guys to play golf with, but it's stories such as this .. and others I've read on here about 5-6 hour 9-hole rounds .. that have kept me from doing so.

Played better today. 10 guys, I won a couple of skins with pars, on the 2 hardest holes. I had a couple of birdies that didn't win, one a chip in, but 3 blow up holes. Short game still needs some work. It's frustrating because I know what to do, I just ain't doing it.

 

One of the guys got on a hot streak and had 5 birdies in a row.

 

Driver, FW and hybrids were really good today. Irons and wedges and putter were not.

Hit several bombs off the tee (for me). Way past, 30 yards a couple of times past guys whom I'm normally just a bit longer than.

 

I was still sore from yesterday's work out and my putting really stank.

Played in a 2 man scramble. US Open day, pins cut in ridiculous positions. Cold and windy day, 15-20 mph wind and 45degrees.

 

Drove the ball really well, 11/14 fairways, needed 6 tee shots each, would have taken mine on the first 10.

Putted ok, my partner putted well, dropped a bomb from 30 foot, but a soft double killed our chances.

 

Very happy with my form off the tee and fairway woods, irons continue to be a struggle, short game was good. Finished with 73 nett 69.75, only a couple of shots from a win.

I've played 8holes in 2+ hours... midday weekend golf on Father's day weekend with dad's who can't golf and their kids is beyond slow....

Played like absolute crap today. Hit some really good shots but most of the round I had some really bad and I mean bad ball striking. It was slow just about 4 hours and I normally golf in about 3 hours or under.

There is a dad 20? year old son and late teen daughter in front of me and they do not look like they are having fun....they must have 50 balls in each bag because they lose about 3 to 4 per hole....almost 3 hours and I'm on 12.

Best thing to do is BBQ and adult beverage, then pool. That will help refocus.

Had a very solid 83 (10 over par) yesterday, could have been so much better. I had 3 three putts which hurt but I still managed to average 1.44 putts for the round.

I played in our local parent-child with the girls yesterday. Modified alternate shot (both players tee off - pick the best tee shot). The goose and I shot even par and finished second to a team with a kid who plays AJGA and his low handicap dad. We left a few out there, but they were -7. Great finish for us in her final time playing (she ages out next year).

 

The gator and I were +6, three shots better than last year. We all had a blast.

Jekyll and Hyde round this morning but fast. Teed off at 7.00am and finished at 10.01am. Love me an early morning tee time!

 

Anyway, I played at Seven Hills Country Club in Hartville. It's a par 72, 130 slope and 72.1 rating. I played off the blue tees, which they had pushed back with some of them sitting with the black (back) tees.

 

The front 9 was absolutely atrocious. Started with a double on the par 5 1st. Followed that with a quad on the par 3 2nd. Then the 4some in front of me let me play through and I still sucked, sitting on an outstanding 53 at the turn.

 

Then I don't know what happened but I put the afterburners on and shot a 3 over 39 for the back. That's my best 9 hole score I've ever had.

 

 So I hit the clubhouse with a 53/39 92. I'm actually quite pleased despite the front 9.

First round of the year yesterday out with the fam. Rust was just coming off around 17 🤣 pretty pleased with the driver and putter. Short game was on the fence (holed out once, but some shots were not even close). Only dark spot was my iron game

Shot 41/43:84 today with two Doubles on the front and two Doubles on the back......My play was good, just a couple hiccups along the way. Had several attempts at Birdie, but the greens were not forgiving.

Played the father son 9 hole event today. I shot one under for my 9 and the boy carded a solid +4. We ran away with the event in a double digit win. Next year we are three time defending champions.

Just can't get it together for 18 holes.  Have some good holes and then I have a few blow up holes.  Really not hitting the ball that badly,  just a shot here or there an I get on the bogey train for a few holes.   Yesterday I played 9 and carded a 3 over with a double and a bogey,  today was 8 over with 2 in the water and 1 OB.

I played great... until #12, when I pulled a quad. After that, it was a string of double and triple bogies to finish at 51 on the back 9. I shot 39 on the front. A good round shot to h*ll because of a nagging injury that just won't go away.

Played Friday morning after working my night shift and getting my daughter on the bus for summer school. I was worried I would be too tired, but after a shower and some food I managed to fire of a 78! This was only the second time I've ever broke 80 and I believe the first time I played from the middle tees whereas this round was played from the back. It was a fun day! I had 12 pars on the round and only one double bogey. Unfortunately, none of my birdie putts dropped although several were very close - either lipping out or burning the edge of the cup.

Get some rest; stay off it for awhile, and ice it up every few hours; compression bandage.  Get some  KT Tape at Walmart.  Recovery takes longer when you don't do that.
