Kenny B
If I knew, I'd tell you . It happened on hole 18 for me. Great drive and I had what I thought was an easy wedge into the green. Shanked the approach shot left about 30 yards into the rough. All the spies were standing to the left of the green and the cart with Spy Big Ball was about 15 yards in front of me to the left. Well, shanked the next shot and almost took his head off on the way to my ball ending up in a sand bunker in the back left. Made a nice sand shot out of there (which I was totally expecting to be shanked too) and two putted for a double, LOL. All in all, a great day when playing with Spies and not having to call an ambulance MDGolfHacker That will teach him to get out in front of you. You have train them!! Kenny B
After Saturday's horrible 85 round with 6 doubles, I started off on Sunday par, par, double. Here we go again!! However, I held it together for a +5 round of 42 on the front nine. My wife told me about Jon Rahm saying that he just has to forget it and be positive. Well, I had two birdies and shot a -1 back nine 34 for a round of 76. Sluggo42
Played well today. What was interesting was that we played blues on the front 9, and then we played from the blacks on the back. And this is a fairly long track. 3222 on the front, and then 3470 on the back. So I was -1 on the front thanks to a birdie/eagle 8 and 9. (30 yard skip, hop, and Dunk) And a + 1 on the back blacks, for an even 72. The key was 27 putts. This happened because the shot game left me in great shape again and again. And that's because I've been practicing these short pitches a LOT lately. So the moral of the story is that you can play a longer course and still score well, by practicing your short pitching shots. cnosil, Rickp, GB13 and 2 others 5 Quote TSr2 on tensi blue stiff Speedzone 3-wood on Tensi blue S Epic Max 5 and 7 woods on HZRDUS Reg flex Paradym 9 wood on HZRDUS reg flex P770 / P790 combo set on Ventus R-6 shafts 6-AW T22 Denim Copper 54°, 58° on Kinetic X Trajectory ER3 or, E.A.S. #4 (“Fang” or “Adele”) ProV1x, or, Maxfli Tour X .Org 14 cart bag Adidas Tour 360 , or Sketcher shoes

Jmikecpa
Played in the pro member today at Fresh Meadow CC. Had a great time on the course and they were kind enough to let my son ride with me during the round. We finished second met on a match of cards and third gross on a match of cards. Our pro was great and overall an awesome day. I hit some really good shots and some not so great ones which is what I would expect after a two week layoff. As a bonus I got to see Matt Dobyns bag up close and personal. For those of you not familiar with him check out his bag from the PGA Championship on WRX. He has the new TS3 in the bag with a Tensei Orange and I just had to have a look. When I asked if I could see it he told me to give it a few swings in the range. This thing is an absolute beast. Kenny B
Maybe. There's just a huge disconnect between my good swings and bad ones. They all feel the same. Sometimes I get too quick in the back swing but when I swing it well the randoms seem baffled at how good it looks and how far it goes. Literally Jekyll and Hide out there. I like to work things out on my own. I had one lesson once and it was not good. Makes me nervous even thinking about another one. Sent from my Pixel 2 using MyGolfSpy mobile app I wasn't talking about a lesson. Maybe your pro isn't as accommodating as ours. Our pro will take a look at your swing, tells you what he sees, and makes a recommendation. Takes 5 minutes, and doesn't charge anything. Of course, if you want the full treatment, he'll take your money!! bardle and GB13 2 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
Popular Post SteddyGolf
Had my best round ever! The day started with my old English bulldog waking me up for a walk at 3am. After the walk I couldn't fall back to sleep so I jumped on Golf Now to make the earliest Tee Time available. I then called in my breakfast order to Starbucks for a grab and go to munch on as I made my way to the North Shore's Turtle Bay Golf Resort. I tee'd off by myself as I was the first one on the golf course. No warm up, no putting, no chipping, not even a toe touch hamstring stretch I simply tee'd it up and was on my way. The first four holes were birdie, birdie, par, eagle. How the eagle came to be was pretty indicative of the entire day. It happened on a somewhat short Par 5 on which I crushed the driver followed by a five iron. The 5 iron was on a direct line to the flag but to my dismay came up about four inches short of making it over the bunker and instead imbedded itself just under the lip. I had one of two choices. I could either stand on the green with my back to the hole and attempt some crazy reaching over the lip back through my legs shot or I could declare the ball unplayable. I decided I'd try the crazy shot. I felt like if it didn't pop out it would simply roll back down into the mouth of the bunker leaving me a pretty easy 4th shot. So there I was standing legs spread with a wedge and after a couple practice strokes I slammed that wedge into the lip with all the might my 54 year old muscles could muster. The forward momentum to dig the ball out resulted in me falling face first four feet into the bunker. I laid there spitting sand out my mouth hoping no one saw me tumble into the sand. As I pushed up to stand, out of the corner of my eye I caught two ground keepers falling all over one another in laughter. I couldn't help but chuckle a little myself. I then turned my attention to finding my ball. Surely it went across the green into the other bunker. I made the walk of shame 30 feet across the elevated green. As I approached the edge I fully expected to find another impossible shot but to my surprise....... no ball! I'm sure you guessed it by now. Yes the ball was in the dang cup for an amazing, albeit lucky, eagle. The next 13 holes pretty much followed suit. As hard as I tried to mess up this round the Golf Gods simple would not allow me to. When all was said and done I hit 13 out of 14 fairways, 15 of 18 greens in regulations, 1 eagle, 6 birdies, 1 bogey, and 10 pars for a round of 65. The next round will probably be an 88. The Golf Gods giveth and the Golf Gods taketh away. Such is the game we love.
