Mr. 82
Oh the weather outside was...PERFECT! So perfect that I got out at lunchtime and played 6 1/2 holes. Then work was boring so I left around 3:30 pm and was able to squeeze another 15 holes in before darkness. I mean come on. If you give me 70 degrees and sunshine I’m gonna take it! tony@CIC
That type of Scramble can be fun once in a while. War Department and I played in one very similar couple years and you had to play Par 3 with Putter off the tee and driver remainder of the hole. We used War Dept drive with the putter then she drained the driver shot for a birdie. downlowkey
Work has been nuts so prior to yesterday, I hadn’t compressed a golf ball for ~3 months. And I can’t remember the last time I rolled the rock on dormant Bermuda (probably stimped around 12). 2 bogeys (3 putted the first 2 holes), 1 birdie and an eagle on #18 for (-1) 70. Feels good to be playing again. Hehe... my normal Thursday partner told me it was the normal time of 7:28 am, but at the last minute he calls and says that oops, it was 8:40. so, I couldn’t start that late as I was having lunch with my wife, so the starter told me I could just start on 10, which is a long par 4. It was also cold, as I could actually see my breath! And then play the front when my buddy arrived. so, without ANY warmup, in order to start ahead of a deathly slow older couple, I fired off and kinda overlooked drew my drive. Left me 210 out so I just decided to lay up and hope for a close chip. It ended up 12 feet away, but I got the putt to drop. The back 9 is the tougher side but I had nobody in front of me , nor anyone pushing me. Ended up even and then met my bro for the front. it was now a despairingly slow event now, as every non golfer on the planet had shown up for their annual game with their father in law. Wait, wait wait... Ended up 5 over on the back..., and it’s the easier side. So with all that time, I decided it was the perfect time to try a new swing change... derrrrrr So now tell me, did you prefer version 1, or 2? Happy Turkey day!! Mr. 82
Happy Thanksgiving to me! So my buddy invited me out to his club for a little Thanksgiving golf. We played 33 holes in about 4 hours in 60-ish overcast skies. Not cold at all and I seemed to hit it better the more holes I played. We played a straight 18 first, and if you take away my stupidity on #4 I would have broken 80 on this course for the first time ever. Then we just planned to play back to his house on #7 tee but neither of us wanted to quit so here you are. And finally we turned towards his house, playing through #6. I just handicapped the last three holes. What a day! Golf should be a thanksgiving tradition for everyone. pulledabill
Havent played much as of late. Walked 9 tonight after woek and managed to just get it in. Played with gloves on both hands for the 1st time. It was good until I was around the green or putting as the feel was lost. Verdict still out on two gloves. My game has struggled a bit. yungkory
41/40 for an 81. I had a really good chance at 79, but choked on the greens. Couldn't really find the middle of the driver aside from maybe 2 drives. I was pushing my irons a bit to the right, or my aim was off. I was still hitting greens, just leaving myself like 30-footers for birdie. 0 penalty strokes I thought today was the day. Koolina is an amazing course and I strongly encourage anyone visiting Oahu to check it out. Kenny B
I haven't played in a week, and just got back from a 300 mile trip to visit my dad on Thanksgiving, I didn't even keep score since we can't post scores until March 1. Long game was decent; short game sucked. Poor chips; bad putting. I hit the fairway on our short par 4 #14. A seagull ran over to it, picked it up, walked around with it, dropped it a couple of times, picked it up and flew about 25 yards, dropped it, picked it up again, flew over to a sand trap, and dropped it. I made it over to my ball before he decided to picked it up and drop it in the pond; visions of The Players Championship on #17 went through my head. Jmikecpa
Played Magnolia in Disney today for my first time hitting a golf ball in well over a month. Promptly blew my first tee shot right into the water on #1 and then repeated it again on #2. Settled down to shoot 40 going out with some nice iron play and some good putting. Settled down on the back and shot one over 37. Overall a 77 on a 7,100 yard track for not playing in a bit is a moral victory to say the least. Rolled my Edel putter for the first time on the course and there is something to his theory. Did not have one putt that was not struck well and zero three putts today. This one may be a keeper.....for the winter anyway.
