Played Magnolia in Disney today for my first time hitting a golf ball in well over a month. Promptly blew my first tee shot right into the water on #1 and then repeated it again on #2. Settled down to shoot 40 going out with some nice iron play and some good putting. Settled down on the back and shot one over 37. Overall a 77 on a 7,100 yard track for not playing in a bit is a moral victory to say the least. Rolled my Edel putter for the first time on the course and there is something to his theory. Did not have one putt that was not struck well and zero three putts today. This one may be a keeper.....for the winter anyway.

The wind cost me that bogey as it was a good one club wind and I flushed a wedge that got caught in the wind and came straight down short of the green. I couldn’t get up and down. So I played the last three holes pissed off trying to birdie something. Drained like a 5 footer on the last hole to get back to level par.

I was hitting is pretty good, considering that I hadn’t hit a shot since Thanksgiving day. Yeah I know, some of you up north just want to tell me to STHU.

Well the other week was my best round. Rewind to 1-2 years and I was struggling to get into the low 90's. The last year has mostly been in the 80's. Personal best was an 84 (different course). Fast forward to a couple weeks ago and I broke 80 for the first time with a round of 76.

27 Putts, 39% GIR (Probably why I had sub 30 putts), and 21 FIR% (Nothing wildly off the fairway). Most pars and birdies I've had in a round. 9 pars and 3 birdies. Only one double and one 3 putt. It was just one of those days where nothing was horrible and putting everything together.

If you combine this with my 36 from Monday that ties my personal best round of 71. I had the whole golf course to myself after work, and the putter was just working today as I made everything I needed to make and then some.

I can’t post this to handicap as it was a solo round, but it’s a legit 71.

Played 9 after work as usual at one of the local munis. +3 and hit 42% FiR and 55% GiR. I think I missed 3 birdie putts by a total of 2" combined. Fairway misses were in the first cut, TS2 was pretty good except when I overcooked one trying to draw it, but that's obviously my fault.

I skipped the fitting and went out and played Palm today with my son. Showed him I can still play for an “old” man with a 36-32 68. Clean card and rattled off 10 straight pars before birdie on 11. Added two more on 13 and 14 then drained a nice 15 footer on 17 for another bird. Last round of the season for me and going out with a good one.

My wife and I weren't going to play today because we had a 10am appointment.  The morning was nice and sunny with a temp of 46º and no wind.  Dang!!  Appointment was canceled; got a tee time at 11:14am.  Great!  On the drive to the course, the fog rolled in; sun was gone; and temp dropped to 37º.  Oh yeah... a slight breeze!  Cold!!

Birdied #1; bogeyed #2; chip-in birdie on #3; birdied #4; bogeyed #5... finally got a par on #6.  Bogeyed #7 and 8; parred #9.  Three birdies and four bogeys for +1 on the front.  I was +6 on the back nine; no birdies and two doubles.  Still... a 79 in the cold is not bad.  Colder tomorrow, but hopefully sunny if the fog lifts.

Crazy round yesterday.  Shot an 81 with two 8's and three birdies - two of which were chip in's.  One of the chip in's from where my ball precariously hung in thick stuff which held it from rolling back into the pond. I couldn't ground the club for fear it would roll backwards.  Just one of those days.

It is fun to play when pretty much every part of your game comes together.  35/37 for an even par 72.  Started out 3 under through 4,  lipped out a pitch on 5 for a tap in par,  doubled 8,  ran off some pars, birdied 15,  then limped home with bogeys on 17 and 18.   Even though the ground was really wet,  I was hitting iron shots really well and my pitching was also on point.  9 fairways, 13 greens, and 28 putts.

Walked 9 after work tonight in dry but soft Oregon conditions. +3 with good chipping saving me from +6 or so.  At the range and last couple rounds Ive developed a bit more of a draw than I like. Not sure if Im not rotating well due to back bothering me in the cold weather or what.

Well today was very wet but 50+ degrees so I was happy. After taking a month off due to work, weather and family I was a little nervous. I ended the season with an 8.5 index and I haven’t taken a month off since I started golfing.  So we weren’t getting much role today because of the rainfall but still ended with a 79. The greens were actually rolling very well but some spots were just puddles. I will admit in the car ride home I was thinking about the strokes left out there instead of being happy i shot a 79

I did figure out the wet shots...at least for the day. I watched the Stan Utley video that someone posted and some James Ridyard videos. Basically I realized I was dropping my right shoulder and hitting everything fat. Worked on letting the club swing and not using my hands to move the club. Contact was good and I was better able to flight the ball. Was even using my 56* which has traditionally been my worst club for pitching and chipping.

Been playing from the blues lately. Was able to squeeze in 9 today.

Shot 42.

Put my new CBX 56° to work today and am in love! I have never been able to hit a wedge as well as this. It’s easy and consistent for full contact, flop shots, green side chips, etc. I’m very happy with it. It is going to help round out my bag nicely!
