Popular Post CarlH
Struggled with the flat stick on slower greens today -- 34 putts. Playing the back tees and couldn't reach most of the greens in regulation (6/18) and my up and down percentage wasn't up to par (not getting close enough to one putt too many times). Walked off with a disappointing 86. The group I played with was such that I was hitting from the gold tees, 2 others from the forward blue tees, and the other far forward white tees (this group I play with sets what tee you play by age -- under 70 plays men's tees, 70+ plays senior tees, and 80+ plays forward tees). MmmmmmBuddy
So, I finally got out after 12 straight days of 12-15 hour shifts. I played with a member in an Alternate Shot event, and put that poor guy in some spots that he didn't know existed on the course. (we still won the thing by one.) Then we went out for a 6 hole feature. 11 players in one group. We played a 3 team scramble. ended up going extra holes. Finished Birdie/Eagle in extras for the W. All in all, it was a good day on the course. cksurfdude, cnosil, Rickp and 3 others 6 Quote Driver - Ping G430 Max 9° | Ventus Blue TR Hybrid - ZX 16° & 18° | GD Tour IZ S 2 Iron - ZU65 17° | AeroTech SteelFiber 110icw S Irons - ZX7 MKII 4-Pw | TTDGTI S400, std length 1° flat Wedges - RTX 6 Tour Rack 50° 54° 58° | TTDGTI S400, std length 1° flat Putter - L.A.B. TR1PTIK
Better Ball tourney on Saturday. Didn't go well. Shot 89 on my own ball, partner scored even worse (considerably). Didn't hit enough greens or get close enough to the hole when chipping/pitching up. Putting was good though - no 3-putts all day. Ball striking was decent. My biggest issue was just getting yardages right with the wind blowing a constant 15+ MPH all day. Hole of the day was the most difficult on the course, #11. It's a 456-yard downhill par 4 and the pin was in the back on a relatively small sliver of green and tucked behind a bunker. I piped driver down the left side where there is a speed slot and a good angle into the green. With 163 left in, I pulled 7-Iron and flushed it, ball mark was within 3' to the right of the flag - ball stopped about 10' past the flag. Missed the right-to-left putt for bird, but made an easy par which is much more than I can usually say about that hole. cksurfdude, MmmmmmBuddy, CarlH and 3 others 6 Quote Driver: ST190 9.5* Fujikura Atmos Blue 5S Fairway Wood: ST190 15* Fujikura Atmos Blue 6S Hybrid: CLK 17* Fujikura Speeder EVO HB Irons: J40 CB (3-PW) Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 Wedges: Milled Grind 2 54* & 58* Dynamic Gold S200 Putter: Tri-Hot 5k Two 34" Bag: Players 5 Stand Bag Ball: Maxfli Tour

Jmikecpa
Played Saturday with my son at Whirlpool GC in Canada. Overall it was a fun course and had a beastly collection of par 3’s from the tips with four of the five playing 225 yards or longer. It was hot and I was at the tail end of an 8 day road trip with my wife and three kids so as you can imagine I was a bit tired by the time I got out to play. Had a blast watching my son hit the ball now that he is back to playing golf a bit more. No idea what I ended up shooting but my son said around 74. edingc
Finally got back out after storms ruined the chance for a round Sunday morning. Usual nine holes before work. - 40 (+4) - 4/7 FIR - 5/9 GIR (1 birdie) - 17 Putts (8 2-putts, 1 1-putt) Considering my range session yesterday was absolute trash, I'm ecstatic about my round. Hit a bunch of good iron shots, some great approach shots, putting was above average for me and my driver didn't ruin the round (though I only had two good drives out of six opportunities). Tested out the MTB-X for the first time and was very impressed. ballplayer002003
I just got back from our annual Pinehurst trip. This year we played Whispering Pines, Pine Needles, Mid South and Talamore. I was also able to play Royal New Kent on the way down. I hit the ball pretty well, but on the second and round I lost all short game. My confidence went way down and I just did not want to be anywhere inside of 60 yards. I fixed the problem following the round and chipped great for the rest of the trip. Pine Needles was great! They kept it in the same conditions as when the Sr LPGA was there a few weeks ago. Greens rolled fast! It was also my first time playing Royal New Kent (Strantz course). I have played Tobacco Road and Tot Hill Farms (both Strantz courses too) and saw a lot of similarities between them and Royal New Kent. I liked the layout of Royal New Kent and with all the Strantz courses, I would like to play it again now that I know where to hit the ball. It was a HOT week of golf with the heat index right around 115 every day. I was planning on playing Pinehurst 4 but the heat kept us from playing two rounds a day so maybe next year. Did I mention that I didn't want to pay $400 to do it either. Ouch!!! Hit 'em straight!!! When I lived in southeastern Colorado, we played on a course that had a ditch running the entire length along the right side of #9. It was overgrown with plant growth and was a well known spot to find plenty of rattlesnakes. Needless to say, players did not attempt to retrieve their ball from said ditch. Sluggo42
This game... shot an 80 today, but once again, completely different from my last game. Irons were working today due to a massive swing change, that is unpercievable to the human eye of another. And tomorrow will probably be different too.**sigh** Rickp, MattF, cnosil and 2 others 5 Quote TSr2 on tensi blue stiff Speedzone 3-wood on Tensi blue S Epic Max 5 and 7 woods on HZRDUS Reg flex Paradym 9 wood on HZRDUS reg flex P770 / P790 combo set on Ventus R-6 shafts 6-AW T22 Denim Copper 54°, 58° on Kinetic X Trajectory ER3 or, E.A.S. #4 (“Fang” or “Adele”) ProV1x, or, Maxfli Tour X .Org 14 cart bag Adidas Tour 360 , or Sketcher shoes

golfertrb
Played 9 holes tonight with my middle son - weather was beautiful - light breeze and low 80's. I was worn out because I wasn't planning on playing so I had hit 2 buckets of balls and then my son called and wanted to play. I hit the ball really solid on the range but I had a bit of draw in my irons when I played - largely due to being tired. Such a beautiful night and a welcome relief from the heat. 34 FIR: 5/6 GIR: 6/9 Putts: 14 THEZIPR23, cnosil, MattF and 2 others 5 Quote Ping G400 LST 8.5* Graphite Design DI 6 stiff 45" Taylormade RBZ Proto 14.5* Oban Kiyoshi 85 04 42.5" Adams 4555 19* Matrix Ozik Altus 80 S/X 42" Ping G410 Crossover 2 Project X Even Flow Blue 85 6.0 40" Ping i500 4-8 Modus 105 Stiff Ping Blueprint 9-P Modus 105 Stiff Fourteen RM-12 53* and 58* Tour Issue Black Onyx s400 Odyssey Tour Black Series 9 35" Flatso 1.0 Srixon Z Star XV 2018 Ping Hoofer
