Wedgie
I didn't play great shooting an 86 with 2 birdies. However, it was the first time in about a month that I felt like being out there playing. I guess I hit a lull and wasn't having much fun but now I'm looking forward to crushing my son on Saturday. cksurfdude, THEZIPR23, golfertrb and 6 others 9 Quote Wedgie Driver - XXIO X Driver 9.5 - Launcher Turbo 2 hybrid - F9 One Length 3-L - ER 1.2 Top Flite Gamer Play Right
SteddyGolf
Renovating a home so I decided to take a break and grab a cart for a 99 degree mid afternoon 18. The forecast was for late afternoon thunders. Teeing off at two should have given me plenty of time to make my way around the links. I didn’t make to the 3rd hole before the horn sounded as the clouds rolled in. In the spirit of Caddy Shack I soldiered on trying to stay one step ahead of Mother Nature. I ran from cart to tee to cart to ball to green to cart hole after hole. I rarely even took the time to stick a tee in the ground opting instead for an unassisted driver on most holes. While I didn’t keep an official score I can assure you there were many more pars than bogies, no lost balls, and no three putts. I’m now sitting in Whole-Pay-Checks (Whole Foods) soaking wet, tired and completely satisfied. Lesson learned? Don’t over think or over complicate the game of golf. Just swing the club and let God sort it out. yungkory
Shot a 3-over 40 (par 37) after work today fir 2/7 gir 6/9 putts 18 Didn't do anything particularly well today. Missed two makeable putts but it was more over-reading than bad strokes. Couldn't find the fairway -- I was pushing everything, and the winds weren't helping at 15-20mph with some gusts that felt stronger. Felt good to not really have any really bad holes, but the course is pretty flat and wide open. Had to get in some golf though, we got some potential tropical storm/hurricane crap coming our way this weekend. downlowkey, cksurfdude, MattF and 6 others 8 1 Quote Driver: Rogue ST Max LS Tensei AV Blue S 3w/5w: TSi2 Tensei AV Raw Blue S 4h: CLK 22* Hybrid Tensei CK Pro Blue 80HY S Irons 5-PW: 223 Steelfiber PR 95 S Wedges: RTX Zipcore Tour Rack 50, 54, 58 Steelfiber PR 105 Putter: LAB Link.1 Ball: Z-Star Diamond

cksurfdude
Better! Played 9 from the front tees with my wife and .. for the most part .. my ball striking was reasonably solid. Tho the scoring didn't reflect it .. still chasing that elusive bogey golf .. and this round was +4 over "my personal par" due to two triples..... Hit zero fairways, but .. all the tee shots were solidly struck and for the most part not too far off the fairway. Just some minor left-right issues... Did make a few nice recovery shots, tho. Hit both Par 3s with decent iron shots - and parred them both - so happy with that. One of the triples was the first hole; thought I was warmed up but wasted a few shots just getting to the green. Other triple was on a fairly straight Par 5 - stepped back to the White tees and decided to test the driver - slliiicce! - then wasted two shots getting back into position, followed by a great iron shot to a good wedge distance, followed by a chunk & splash into the pond fronting the green... D'oh! Decent follow-up wedge shot, if a little left of intended target, and a solid 1-putt from 20+ feet for the snowman 8. edingc, MattF, THEZIPR23 and 6 others 9 Quote WITB of an "aspiring" play-ah ... Tarheelvolvo
Shot a 91 at a course I've never played here in town today - Jefferson Lakeside CC. No triple bogeys and only 3 putted once! Spent far too much time at the beach than I had wished for, but playing a course for the first time will do that too you. Overall, a nice course, tight holes/layout, somewhat fast greens - even with all the morning rain we had today - and chips were solid all day! Also, another fun fact: I outdrove my buddy, who's a 7hdcp and has a G400 driver, almost every hole with my old Titlest cksurfdude, russtopherb, CarlH and 3 others 6 Quote In my Hoofer: G410 LST 10.5* - Kai'Li White 60 X-flex VRS Covert 3W 15* - Kuro Kage 65 S-flex T200 4-GW, DG X100 Tour Issue - Tester Glide 2.0 Stealth 54.12 SS & 58.10 SS Zing 2 LW - 60* Anser

I have similar experiences when my wife and I play after she gets off work at 5pm. There are slow groups playing in the evenings. We usually run into the groups in front of us around hole #5. We have found that rather than waiting for every shot, there is a shortcut back to the #1 tee and no one is teeing off that late in the evening. We can play #1-4 to finish out 9 holes; it's only practice rounds for us anyway. cksurfdude, Rickp, tony@CIC and 2 others 5 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
Peaksy68
First round back after shoulder surgery. January 5th was the last time I played 18. Started really well, parred the 1st (tough par 4), birdied the 2nd. At that stage I was getting pretty excited. Doubled the 3rd to bring me back to earth. Had a bit of a flat spot through the middle of the back nine as fatigue set in, but finished pretty solidly. Finished 14 over with 5 doubles. Drove the ball reasonable well, lacking a bit of distance, but hit 12/14 fairways. Putting was either sensational or ordinary, a few really good putts holed balanced by an awful 4 putt and a couple of 3 putts. Irons improved over the round, I've got not a lot of idea how far my irons are travelling, but the last few swings felt a lot more like I want things to be. Shoulder is felling good, a lot better than my feet Not used to walking 18. cksurfdude
Better. Again. Weird, huh? Two times in a row?!? Think I made a PB +5 on a 9-hole Par 3, where each hole is a scaled down recreation of a famous Par 3; for example, #3 is the Augusta #(11, I think?) with a pond fronting a narrow, kidney-shaped green. Well.. *that* hole is still my bugaboo... A double after I thinned and pulled the tee shot left, then pulled the pitch up a little left and it ran off the back of the green.. chip on, two putt. But that was my worst hole and was after two pars; rest of the round was three bogeys and three pars. Hit 5 greens, had a few nice close in chips on the others, and mostly good putting though I felt like I had two or three chances to make a par or a birdie putt but couldn't quite sink it... But this course, since each hole is a different layout and there's a little up or down on a few shots, is great approach and short game practice. So happy with a feeling of good progress made! There is a “water dump” going on now to lower the ponds which is needed. cnosil, MattF, fozcycle and 1 other 4 Quote Rick Left Hand, Driver; PXG 0311XF Cypher 50 gr Senior 5 wood; Ping 425, Senior Shaft 55 gr 7 wood; Ping 425, Senior Shaft 55 gr 5 hybrid; Cally Steelhead, Hazardous R2 Irons; Mizuno JPX 923HM 7-GW Recoil 460 F2 Wedges; Titleist S9 54*, Mizuno SW 56* Putter; Waaay too many to list
edingc
- 44 (+8) - 2/7 FIR - 2/9 GIR - 17 Putts (2 3-putts, 4 2-putts, 3 1-putts) - 1:30 Round Time Nothing really working for me this evening. Lots of thin blocks. Did hit one drive out to 271 dead in the middle of the fairway, but unfortunately it was my third shot after hitting my first tee ball out of bounds left. Debated playing 18 holes, but glad I didn't. Although there were only two groups (a twosome cart and a solo walker) in front of me by two holes, I opted to instead hit a medium bucket at the range. Figured out my swing and still had time to play 17 and 18 before the cart was even visible on the 16 tee. My drives on 17 and 18 were both 262 yards and in the fairway, so that's a positive heading into tomorrow morning's round! fozcycle, cksurfdude, THEZIPR23 and 3 others 6 Quote Unofficial WHS Handicap: 7.5 / Anti-Cap: 13.0 (Last Updated Feb. 19, 2024) Driver: Callaway Paradym TD (10.5°, -1/N), 45.75", Fujikura Motore X F1 6X | Fitting Post 3 Wood: Cobra RadSpeed Big Tour (14.5°), 43", Fujikura Motore X F1 7X 20° Hybrid: PXG 0211 (2020 Model), 40.25", Mitsubishi Tensei AV RAW White 90X 4 Utility: Cobra KING Utility (2020 Model), 38.5", Aerotech SteelFiber i110cw Stiff 5-PW: Ben Hogan PTx Pro, 37" 7 Iron, Aerotech SteelFiber i125cw Stiff | Club Champion Fitting 50°, 54°, 58°: Edel SMS, V Grind, Nippon Modus 125 Wedge| Official Review Thread Putter: L.A.B. THEZIPR23
78 6/14 fir 8/18 gir 30 putts Back from vacation and after 2 weeks you would’ve thought I forgot what end of club to hold. 42/36. Figured it out on 7th hole but man I was a disaster until then. New putter is awesome! Having a little trouble getting speed right but alignment and start line were spot on. cksurfdude, Kenny B, cnosil and 4 others 7 Quote Stealth 2+ 9 (Diamana PD 60 S 45") Stealth 2+ 15 (Diamana PD 70 S 43") G425 19 (Raijin 2.0 85x) G425 22 (Raijin 2.0 85x) ZX7 5-9 (KBS C Taper S) Vokey SM9 45 10 F (KBS 610) Vokey SM9 49 08 F (KBS 610) Vokey SM9 55 08 M (KBS 610) Vokey SM9 59 04 T (KBS 610) Spider GT Splitback 34" ProV1 #23 Twitter @THEZIPR23 "One thing Golf has taught me, is that my muscles have no memory." mr.hicksta
Played 36 today with mixed resultsGenoa Lakes: 87 (48/39), 43% FIR, 39% GIR, and 34 puttsGenoa Ranch: 96 (47/49), 43% FIR, 22% GIR and....40 puttsThe difference between the two? Genoa Ranch was CRAZY windy, like golf balls blowing off greens windy. The wind was shifting on every hole making for some borderline impossible tee and approach shots. I still had fun, but man the last 18 was a grind. Edgewood tomorrow though so it’s all good!
