Normal Tuesday morning round was definitely great! The course got 3/4" of unexpected rain last night, on top of being irrigated, so it was pretty wet and slow.
Epic Flash with the HZRDUS Yellow is a beast of a club. Hit all but one fairway, and the one that I missed, I missed long through the dog leg. Won't complain about that one.
Birdied No. 1, nearly chipped in from 15 yards on No. 2 for birdie, left my birdie putt on No. 3 six inches short, and had putts on No. 4 and No. 6 lip out. Again, nearly a very low round for me.
Had a great look at the green for my third shot on No. 9, and unfortunately, tugged my approach from 75 yards a little long and left behind the green. Hit a poor pitch that stuck on to the fringe before getting a great chip near the pin for a one-putt. Only shot I'm really kicking myself about!
I read about half of Golf is Not A Game of Perfect by Dr. Bob Rotella last night and applied much of what I learned to my round. Amazing how mental state affects your game!

That is so great! Some really great numbers and a very low round is coming with playing like that! The mental side really is THE side once you have a golf swing and some basic repeatable skills - looking forward to hearing about the rounds right around the corner!

Thanks for the words. Really was fun today to just focus on my target and swing. Funny how the body figures it all out. I didn't hit anything super long off of the tee because it was wet, but even with a 219-yard low-on-the-face miss on No. 9, my average driving distance for the round was 248 yards. By far the best driving round of the year; it was also my best putting round, too.

@Kenny B I agree. The injury builds up and if it pops from overuse/abuse you'll be out a long time. The details I didn't go into in my post was that I went to my Ortho first along with tests to determine what was wrong. I sat out during therapy for almost 6 weeks. Only then did I tape my wrist and start back gradually with putting, then chipping, then short shots and finally playing by adding on 3 holes at a time. I'm told I will be taping and wearing a wrap brace for support for months during golf and a number of other things. It may be a year before I can attempt to play 2 days in a row.

I understand.  If I had an injury, I would certainly go through the appropriate rehab.  I woke up one morning and both wrists hurt (must have been an awful dream).  My left wrist was back to normal in a couple of weeks; my right wrist is still sore, but a little better.  The Wrist Widget I wear helps, but I tried playing with it and I spray the ball everywhere.  Without it I hit at least 70% of the fairways.  Toe shots and fat iron shots hurt a little, but other shots don't, so I guess I just can't hit those shots for awhile.  😁

It is amazing how the mind focuses so much on target. I had a friend on the putting green yesterday and he has no experience with putting at all. I had him on a 12 foot putt with a foot of break; he could not see the break or get the speed (understandably). I got him set and comfortable and I had him look at the hole and putt and he made two in a row. He was absolutely shocked! The sheer joy on his face was priceless and I gave him my Stroke Lab putter and he is hooked - so cool because I told him that's what the mind will do. Good stuff

When I started looking at the hole and putt, I went from "hands of stone" to a decent putter.  I was hooked.

Learned a valuable lesson today. At 62 I can’t play with a hangover in 105 degree heat.

I topped and chopped and shanked and pull hooked my way to an 89.

Oddly I putted well which was bizarre because my hands were often shaking

Could’ve been a great round today, 3 lip outs and a skulled bunker shot. Overall hit it good. Putter is coming around which is very encouraging.

I was even after four holes... then, it started raining, then just dumping. Everyone wanted to finish.... I wanted to go home. I HATE playing in the rain and wet. I don't know what I ended up shooting. I know there was at least two double bogies in there. We couldn't even putt on the 9th hole because it was a lake. We all just took bogies and called it a night...lol.

Having been playing in swampy conditions for several weeks, got a 9:00 tee time at The Brooksville Country Club(Brooksville, FL) for this Sunday.

Old course but has three holes on front that were carved out of an old rock quarry......kinda like a Disneyland challenge. They said only one Hole is CPO.

Played pretty great yesterday... except for 2/9 holes. So here is how my round went: par, par, par, quadruple-bogey, triple bogey, par, par, par, par. Missed two birdie putts from 5 feet on #1 and #7. I could not believe I scored a 7 on a par 3 and came back with an 8 on a very easy par 5! Very unimpressed with this as I easily should have shot much better than a 43 😞

It was “Humuggity”! CPO on only a few holes.
I never hit over a 6iron, shoulder was a little “angry” so kept it easy.

I hate rounds like that.  It happens to me too; I know I can do better on those holes, but the golf gods have to punish you occasionally.

73 and a 72 the last two days. Really hitting irons well, and on shots that aren’t, I’m scrambling well and making some putts.

this game... back and forth from low 80’s to low 70’s in the very same week...smh...

Well, day one of club championship and I didn't get off to a good start.  Opened with a double, then a par, followed by another double!  Scratched my way back to shoot 39 on the front.  Then puked all over myself on the back with another double and a triple.  So, 3 doubles and a triple bogey to shoot an 83.  Other than the 4 holes, some decent golf...but those 4 holes shot me in the foot.  Going to take some solid golf tomorrow and Sunday to get in the $$$ on the net side.  Gross is out of the question unless I fire some very low numbers the next 2 days, but there are generally too many low digit handicappers in my division to compete at the gross side.
