Sluggo42
Shot a -1, 70 today with 4 birdies. Oddly, I birdied 3 of the toughest holes... strange driver was ok but not stellar, but irons were exceptional, as was the putter. Two of the birds were within a foot, and the other two were about 10 feet. Many other close putts too. Was a great day... Popular Post chisag
... I have really been struggling with my full swing the last few weeks. My back has been very tight which means little freedom in my swing. Had my monthly Chiropractor visit last night and it made a huge difference. Playing today was just a real treat and one of those days where I only missed one shot, which as we all know is just sooooo very rare regardless of your level of play. Not that I wasn't long or short and right or left, just every swing but one felt like it was exactly what I wanted to do and hit pretty much dead center of the club face. But I got a little too cute on 17 and cut a 2 iron into the wind and close to the lake which leaves a shorter approach shot. Start it on the right side of the fairway and just let it fade toward the water with the wind holding it up, leaving a pw. But a slightly exaggerated holding off of the release resulted in me hitting it off the toe, losing distance and direction. Ended up under a tree (that is never in play) and I had to hit a very low knockdown 7 iron 145 under the tree branches but still clear the lake. ... Missed 2 makable birdie putts on the high side and finished with 15 pars and 3 birdies for a 69. After shooting in the mid 70's for the last few weeks it was just a most enjoyable round. This addictive game is so funny. Like everyone here, when I am struggling I cannot wait to get out the next day and fix it but when I am playing well I cannot wait to get out the next day and repeat it. sixcat
Played 9 with an accomplished player last night. Overcast conditions with damp, thick, heavy air. Humidity was high but the temperatures were in the mid 60's. I birdied three of the first four holes. Bogeyed a tough par 3 and pared everything else for a 33. All in all, very happy with where my game is right now. Also very happy with the cooler temperatures. artful_golfer, Rickp, MattF and 3 others
sp0rtsfan86
Well the last three rounds were something else. Had an 18 hole round where I was shooting 36 through 8 and was on track for breaking 90. On the back I blew up shooting a 50 and ended up shooting 93. Then last week I played and shot a very fortuante 40. The type of round where every shot was hit very thing but runs dead straight at pins. My putting and chipping was on point and ended up shooting well below my handicap. Then came the mens league and playoffs. I started out hot with two pars. The guy I played against also had two pars. I got a hole ahead of him with a par on 4, Otherwise it was two players playing lights out. We both shot 4 over 40's but I won after taking a bogey on the hole I got a stroke on. My partner had a rough go of it early but rallied valiantly but it wasn't enough as we ended up losing by one hole. A few missed birdie putts would have changed the match drastically but it was a tough ask. Then again so were two 18 handicappers shooting 40. (for the record, I used to play to a 12 but have struggled over the last two years so this is more of a return to form then anything else) bens197, MDGolfHacker, MattF and 4 others 7 Quote Driver: Epic Flash 12 Degree Wood: GBB 3 Wood Hybrid: Razr 4 hybriid stiff stock shaft. Popular Post Golfspy_CG2
Finally after what has seemed like an endless string of poor rounds, I put an OK round up today considering i started triple, double, double, double! But pulled it together to finish with a 41 on the back nine after the 46 on the front for a 87. The round consisted of 4 straight penalty strokes on my first four holes on that front nine, and three putts that died right on the lip. Popular Post golfertrb
Just a perfect day in Oklahoma City today - 87 degrees with a nice breeze. I played Trosper Golf Club - got around in just over 2 hours. I played well and I did something kind of cool - I have shot 65 my last 3 rounds and I did it on 3 different courses: Broadmoore, Lincoln East and Trosper. Some caveats - all three rounds were played from the white tees so anywhere from 6000 to 6200 yards and par was 70 on 2 and 71 on the other - so I'm not headed to any tour but it sure was fun! My play early in the summer was the best I've ever played and then things cooled off considerably so I really enjoyed the last three rounds - hit the ball solid, short game was sharp and the putter was working. I had 4 doubles, mainly due to putting. Had a few unfortunate lies in sand traps and bare spots, but that's golf. Oh well....better golf next time. 85. golfertrb
I couldn't beat your score. But might have beat you weather wise. 74 sunny and a nice breeze all round. Actually felt good to play with a 1/4 zip on the first 4 or 5 holes. Man that sounds amazing - 87 still felt hot BUT I'm not complaining - it's so much better than 105 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Golfspy_CG2, Rickp, bens197 and 3 others 6 Quote Ping G400 LST 8.5* Graphite Design DI 6 stiff 45" Taylormade RBZ Proto 14.5* Oban Kiyoshi 85 04 42.5" Adams 4555 19* Matrix Ozik Altus 80 S/X 42" Ping G410 Crossover 2 Project X Even Flow Blue 85 6.0 40" Ping i500 4-8 Modus 105 Stiff Ping Blueprint 9-P Modus 105 Stiff Fourteen RM-12 53* and 58* Tour Issue Black Onyx s400 Odyssey Tour Black Series 9 35" Flatso 1.0 Srixon Z Star XV 2018 Ping Hoofer
Popular Post THEZIPR23
71 3/14 fir 9/18 gir 26 putts First time out in while. Back went out again and was definitely sore during round. Got my new sticks so had to get out there. Fairway stats look terrible but only once was I in a spot that hurt me and made par from there anyway. Going to take a little while to get used to new clubs but they feel like butter. Popular Post GB13
35-39-74 10/14 fir 14/18 gir 33 putts I’ve only played maybe 4 rounds in the past 3 months, and it really showed today on the green. Struck the ball exceptionally well with the irons, but missed a LOT of good birdie chances. I was -1 after 3 when I really should have been -4. Missed a 5 footer for birdie on 1 and 3 and a 10 footer for eagle on 2. Solid day overall though, lots to build on. cksurfdude, chisag, Rickp and 8 others 11 Quote Wilson Staff C300 9.0* Fujikura Pro 58 stiff Callaway Rogue 3W Mitsubishi Diamana D+ LTD 80 stiff Mizuno MP-18 MMC FLI-HI 2 iron UST Mamiya Recoil 95 stiff Ping I200's 4-W Aerotech Steelfiber I110 CW stiff Ping Glide 52* and 58* stiff Bettinardi Studio Stock #38 Armlock

MomoMan83
After my best ball striking ever last week, yesterday's scramble was just about the opposite. Got off to a hot start with a great drive and approach shot, but everything after that was a story of wild inconsistency. Hit a couple more solid drives and a couple nice pitch shots, but lots of topped balls and shots that either didn't go anywhere or didn't go where they were supposed to. Our last scramble of the summer will be next Thursday so hopefully will have a bit better luck. Until then, practice, practice, practice.
