Jmikecpa
Down south for the week and got in a round today at Disney’s Palm with my son. Shot an even par 72 with one over in the front and one under on the back. For not playing in a few weeks it was a pretty solid round and I didn’t do anything dumb. Shot an 80 which I was satisfied with consider it was inte low to mid 40s, no roll, and lots of long clubs in to par 4s. CarlH
Played yesterday afternoon in rather chilly weather for most of the round...but the chill wasn't the reason that I played so poorly. It was a disaster. Ball striking was really bad today for whatever reason. As normal, I struggled with my driver off the tee, but it was the iron play that devastated me. Normally, my game can recover from mediocre driving, but yesterday, it just wasn't there. My putting was the only part of my game that I felt came to play. Started off with an opening OB triple bogey on the par 5, followed up by a brain dead double. So, it wasn't my best start. Parred number 3, which is our hardest hole according to the handicap rating and I'm thinking "okay, you've got this...you can still salvage a decent round".....nope! I mean, when you make the turn and you've already shot your handicap, you know things aren't going your way. And, it didn't improve any on the back, despite a birdie on #16 .... 91 for the round....thankfully (or maybe not), our posting season is closed. golfertrb
It was beautiful today - nearly 70 and I played for the first time in almost two weeks. My back has been really bad but I felt great today. I had no idea what to expect but I hit the ball quite well and I was able to put together a good round. I was striking the ball really well right off the bat but I wasn't making many putts on the front. On the back nine I got tired and wasn't hitting quite as well but I made more putts. Best shot of the day was 2 Crossover. Par 3 9th hole - 197 but was into the wind and playing 217. It's hard to see in the picture but the ball is 3 paces behind the flag and the pitch mark is pin-high right about four feet. So happy with that shot. The other shot that made me happy was from the middle of the fairway on the 11th. I had just over 100 yards and I hit a little knockdown PW. It was playing into the breeze and it came off just as I pictured it (the Blueprint irons are amazing!). The pitch mark is just past the hole. Unfortunately, I missed both putts I've also played the Titleist EXP balls the last two rounds and I like them. I will be interested to see what they become in terms of marketing.67FIR 8/13GIR 12/18Putts 26 downlowkey, THEZIPR23, MattF and 4 others 7 Quote Ping G400 LST 8.5* Graphite Design DI 6 stiff 45" Taylormade RBZ Proto 14.5* Oban Kiyoshi 85 04 42.5" Adams 4555 19* Matrix Ozik Altus 80 S/X 42" Ping G410 Crossover 2 Project X Even Flow Blue 85 6.0 40" Ping i500 4-8 Modus 105 Stiff Ping Blueprint 9-P Modus 105 Stiff Fourteen RM-12 53* and 58* Tour Issue Black Onyx s400 Odyssey Tour Black Series 9 35" Flatso 1.0 Srixon Z Star XV 2018 Ping Hoofer
yungkory
Same 9 I shot 2 over on last week, I shot a 5 over with 2 3-putts. 42 (par 37) 6/7 FiR 3/9 GiR 16 putts Last week, I would've missed the ocean if I was teeing off from the beach. GB13
Absolutely terrible day. I think I pulled a @Shankster and quit for 20 minutes after I left the course. By the time I got back home, I was already analyzing what went wrong to prepare for my next “adventure”. After extensive analysis, I realized that hitting 4 inches behind the ball was not producing optimal results. The cause of this ineptitude is pending investigation.... Jmikecpa
Played Magnolia today with my son in what will be my last round of the year. Shot an even par 72 from the back tees and it was an up and down day. I shot even par on the front and didn’t make a par until the 9th hole...four birds and four bogies on the first 8 holes in alternating order (not sure I have ever done that). Then for good measure I finished the round with 10 straight pars for what was a good way to end the year. Overall the swing is there, ball flight is where I want it to be and working the ball both ways. My goal over the winter is to work on the putting and getting more comfortable with left hand low. Other than that the gear is dialed in and ready for the spring. Rickp
New problem with the 410? Have you changed the hosel setting? Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpyGoing to change hosel setting next time out. I took the F8 out after a couple of mediocre G410 outings and I was hitting drives as long as 2-3 years ago.Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy MattF and CarlH 2 Quote Rick Left Hand, Driver; PXG 0311XF Cypher 50 gr Senior 5 wood; Ping 425, Senior Shaft 55 gr 7 wood; Ping 425, Senior Shaft 55 gr 5 hybrid; Cally Steelhead, Hazardous R2 Irons; Mizuno JPX 923HM 7-GW Recoil 460 F2 Wedges; Titleist S9 54*, Mizuno SW 56* Putter; Waaay too many to list
Mr. 82
It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. Today was the end of year dogfight. They double cut and double rolled the greens and tucked the pins where no mere mortal would dare aim at. I mean, these greens normally run 11 on the stimp. But today was another level of fast. By the fourth hole I had learned my lesson and stopped aiming at flags. It didn’t seem to matter. I played safe and left my approach shot short of the green. Chipped on 10 ft past the hole and blew the first putt 7 ft by the hole, missed the comebacker and walked off with double bogey. The highlight of the day was the 7th hole, a driveable par 4. They had a closest to the pin on your 2nd shot for $50. I left my drive in front of the greenside front bunker and looked at the pin location and my 30 yard chip and had no idea where to hit the ball without it going off the front of the green with it’s false front. So I hit my chip 10 feet right of the pin and just past it, just far enough to avoid the false front. The ball ended up 6 ft 4 inches below the hole. Of course I missed the putt, but my shot held up to collect the closest to the pin prize. Good times!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk cksurfdude, fozcycle, MattF and 3 others 6 Quote G400 Driver XR 4 Fairway 16.5° Fli-Hi Utility Iron - 21° G Series 5-9 irons SM7 46°, 50°, 54° & 58° Ghost Spider S putter Nexus Laser Rangefinder Garmin Approach S20 GPS
pulledabill
Walked 9 after work tonight finishing right at dark. Shot a 41 with a bird and left a 10 footer on the course. Happy with the round in 50 degrees, fog, and soggy fairways. The 5 par 4s left me a 5i, 6i. 4h, and a wedge on a short dog leg which I birdied. Nice night on am empty course. cksurfdude, MattF and sirchunksalot 3 Quote DRIVER: Cobra F9 10.5 Tensei AV Blue 65g 3W- Callway XR PRO 16 stiff 5W- Alpha- Mitsubishi Diamana Redboard w/band Irons- Mizuno JPX 919 Tours with S KBS Tour shafts Hyrbid- TM 4h mid-rescue Vokey- Vokey SM5 51 degrees, SM7 Wedges 54 and 58 1/2 half 3 degrees upright Putter- Taylor Made Rossa Monza Mini Spider Ball-ProV1 and AVX
