76 again, but a few mental lapses contributed at least 2 or 3 strokes.
really been hitting a lot of solid shots lately- I’m hoping for one of those days for it all to come together....

I just can’t get any birdie putts to drop lol started off great, 3 straight fairways and 3 straight GIRs and 3 straight 2 putt pars. Then 1 pulled tee shot and the wheels came off for a nice round 81...grrr

Started off rough with back to back double bogies, but finished the front nine with a 41.  I'll be darned if I didn't get another 2 doubles on the back nine and shot the same 41.  82 with 4 double bogies (one birdie).

Just think of it as playing 14 holes really well.  Nice job!

To piggy back off @B.Boston I also made all my meetings and felt refreshing to play before work! Light drizzle here and there felt good (very humid today) nothing was rolling so off the tee was shorter. Was a good ball striking day, crap putting.

Driver.jpg.b57f9ef2067b6cd68bf4f6e20528f1e2.jpg

Also to note I played irons only (with 2 drives just to see where I was at). Overall 40 with great fairways hit (thanks to the irons) and the GIR reflected the shortness off the tee.

Lastly the course entrance I through in there. Was great to see with memorial day and the shutdown, was nice to see some American pride out there.

Played 18 today with dad at the course hosting the district qualifier next month. Lots of positives and some really good course management today. 39/37 with 3 birdies and a double. If I could gripe about one thing, my was not great.  5 over round was a big deal for me as I had never broken 80 on this course until today.  I strung 3 bogeys in a row on 15-17 but finished 18 with a bird.

It’s at the south end of Canandaigua Lake and the views are fantastic. One amusing shot from today...I landed the ball square on the top of the flag. The black nut that keeps the flag secured left a nice ding as a reminder.

Unfortunately no, this is a really fun one.  It's only 368 from the back tee and that fairway sits on a table.  Miss left and you're in a valley surrounded by those trees.  Miss right and it's OB.  I hit a 3 or 4 iron and it turns into a get your par and walk to the 11th scenario.

My guess is typical 18 is between 18-25% save %. Which means they get up & down roughly 2-3 times a round, same as me if not better from that perspective. The biggest difference between me and an 18 is that if I miss the green 98% of the time bogey is the worst I make. Probably not the case for an 18.

I'm not saying you improving your short game will drop your handicap, I am simply saying that for me vs you our short games are probably not that different.

Yes. My home course if you miss anywhere but short on line you are in the rough around the green.

And the one thing that doesn't get figured in the save % that people miss is putts. It is a combination of the 2. That is why SG is so valuable.

My guess is typical 18 is between 18-25% save %. Which means they get up & down roughly 2-3 times a round, same as me if not better from that perspective. The biggest difference between me and an 18 is that if I miss the green 98% of the time bogey is the worst I make. Probably not the case for an 18

I'm not saying you improving your short game will drop your handicap, I am simply saying that for me vs you our short games are probably not that different.

I should've edited my post earlier, but that's the point I'm trying to make.

... So many ways to play this game,

Yes sir. Short game is a big reason why at a + I have never had a clean card. My game consists of driving it great and rolling it in the hole. If I have to rely on my chipping I would be a 10.
