Popular Post Jmikecpa
Nice practice round today just hitting some shots and working on my game. The time I spent with the PXG rep on Wednesday was worthwhile as we got my three wood dialed in. Added a degree of loft and put the heavy weights up front to kill a bit of the spin. Hit it once off the deck from 265 into a bit of wind and was about 5 yards short dead center of the green. Hit it off the tee on 16, 17 and 18. On 18 a bit into the wind I hit 3 wood- 9 iron into a 430 yard par 4. Now that the setup is sorted the thing is a damn cannon. Also got the putter set up a bit to play our greens, put in some head weight and added the 50g SuperStroke weight to the butt end. I feel like I am on the verge of a nice low round in my immediate future with the way I am hitting it right now. revkev
I play better farther back (maybe not tips depending on distance) but 6800 is pretty much a good number for me. Why? Because off the tee 130-170 is my wheel house, start getting within 90 and I think I’m worse off [/lIf I’ve learned one thing about golf it’s this - what I think and feel about my game isn’t always true. Data tracking systems like shot scope or ARCCOS have brought me to that realization. So for example I used to think that what you wrote was true for my game. Why? Because what is “acceptable” from 150 is far different than what is “acceptable” from 90 perception wise.I would recommend you back up your perception with real numbers (for yourself not us - what you tell us or what we think doesn’t help your game at all) and if what you’ve written here is true go practice some with your wedges. Good luck!As for my game I played 9 yesterday afternoon and shot 37. My game for now has settled into a routine that includes a range session, two Super Speed workouts, two short game sessions and a walking 9 each week. My work/family schedule handles 11/2 to 2,hour blocks of time many days while there’s seldom room for a 4 to 5 hour block. I can play reasonable golf with that schedule. It’s also more “off” season for us right now. GolfSpy_BNG
Managed a nice 40/39 today with the driver not behaving on the front nine. I switched the Nemesys shaft out for the Oban Devotion on the back 9 and things started to turn around. I couldn’t buy a birdie today as I didn’t make any putts over 4 feet and I am starting to get frustrated. I know I just need to push through and keep working at it but the club ho in me is thinking about a new putter. Also the PXG Proto X is creeping back into my head! Popular Post chisag
... Yesterday was a disaster. I was behind a traffic accident and then road construction ate up my 1/2 before tree time to stretch and warm up. With a league right behind our 4some, I was forced to almost run to the first tee as the other 3 had already teed off and were waiting with league carts lined up. Took one practice swing and then hit a nasty slice in 25 mph winds and DUH! felt a twinge in my back. I had to turn the day into a practice round. Hit some of the worst shots I have hit in a long time. Lost 4 balls. In retrospect I should have just eaten the $29, turned around and went back home. At least my back feels much better today after stretching last night, applying some infra red heat and stretching again this morning. I really should have known better. Windy again today but I will arrive with plenty of time to warm up and hopefully have a normal day on the golf course. CarlH, artful_golfer, Rickp and 7 others 4 6 Quote Driver: Qi10 10.5* ... Jmikecpa
So much for the putting turning around today. Missed 7 birdie putts inside 8 feet today.....on the front 9. The other hole I made a 25 footer for birdie. I seriously just can’t putt. Shot two over on the back for a 73 and it was about the worst number I could have shot. My group had the first tee time off this morning. Beautiful weather. Greens got punched a week ago, so could afford to be aggressive as they were a little slow with the rain from this week. CarlH
I redefined ABFU today .... started off par, bogey, then birdied #3 ... and now for the ABFU .... straight bogies until I made par on the short par 5 #16, then finished bogey bogey....for a smooth 87....really????? We had 3 teams today and one team only had 3 players....and then I became their blind draw (lucky them)....helped them a bit, but not enough to beat the other team. I did get a skin from the birdie, so it wasn't a total disaster today. yungkory, MaxEntropy, cksurfdude and 1 other 4 Quote Driver: Rogue ST Max (10.5* set at -1 and neutral) -- Mitsubishi Tensai Blue 55g R shaft Fairway: Rogue ST Max 3 wood (16.5*) and Heaven Wood (20*)-- Tensai Blue 55g R shaft Hybrids: Rogue ST Max 5H (23*)--Tensai Blue 55g R shaft Irons: Apex CF19 6-9, PW, AW -- KBS Tour Graphite TGI 70 shafts R +1/2 inch 3* upright Wedges: Edison 53* and 57* KBS PGI 80 Graphite +1/2 inch 2* upright Putter: L.A.B. I'm really jealous of about 99% off the members here who play courses that put the ones I play to shame as far as how beautiful they are. Not saying there aren't nice courses around here, just those are sweet. B.Boston great photos of the sunset, I like how you framed the one with the fence. Chunkster, take a trip and visit the New England MGS guys, great courses awesome viewsSent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy cksurfdude, GolfSpy_SHARK and GolfSpy BOS 3 Quote Rick Left Hand, Driver; PXG 0311XF Cypher 50 gr Senior 5 wood; Ping 425, Senior Shaft 55 gr 7 wood; Ping 425, Senior Shaft 55 gr 5 hybrid; Cally Steelhead, Hazardous R2 Irons; Mizuno JPX 923HM 7-GW Recoil 460 F2 Wedges; Titleist S9 54*, Mizuno SW 56* Putter; Waaay too many to list
Rickp
I appreciate it and you can get if I ever get up that way, I'll definitely take y'all up on the offer. My wife is wanting to travel once things settle down, now just to talk her into going northeast... I swear honey, it's not motivated by golf. Great part of the US to visit, lots of history and great topography. Early fall the bestSent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy GolfSpy_SHARK, cksurfdude, GolfSpy BOS and 1 other 4 Quote Rick Left Hand, Driver; PXG 0311XF Cypher 50 gr Senior 5 wood; Ping 425, Senior Shaft 55 gr 7 wood; Ping 425, Senior Shaft 55 gr 5 hybrid; Cally Steelhead, Hazardous R2 Irons; Mizuno JPX 923HM 7-GW Recoil 460 F2 Wedges; Titleist S9 54*, Mizuno SW 56* Putter; Waaay too many to list

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkYup, that’s what I was thinkin, Mrs Chunkster would love the leaf season. Is there a course in New England that doesn’t have a view? I never saw one! Beautiful part of US.
