RoverRick
After my best round in years yesterday posted in the HRC, I expected to great again today. However, poor swings early on had me 4 over through 4 and poor decisions 6 and 10 cost me 4 more strokes. And playing too conservatively cost me 1 more on the last hole BUT a net 68 in League play added $156 to my pocket. All in all I should be happy. I beat my handicap by 4 strokes. But I feel like I left 5-6 strokes out there by not making good decisions and committing. Here he is swearing he could put one right between the trees, while I hid behind one! ETA: I completely spaced out about this, but I hit trees with my drive on three holes in a row. Popular Post sirchunksalot
Got out today to play another round of the HRC and realized I had put all the qualifying balls in my other bag since we've been doing a little renovation in master bath and things are all over the place. The company was good, got the wife out to caddy for me another round and just enjoyed the outdoor time with her. The golf, well, let's just say I had one of those days I wonder why I even play this game. I started out great, making par on the first two holes before my game did a great impression of a raging dumpster fire. I was pulling tee shots, chunking my irons, and shanking wedges better than if I was trying. Ended up carding a 52, hitting 3 fairways, two greens, and 19 putts. The putter was solid with only 1 3 putt. Very frustrating day, but it is good motivation to work on the game and figure out what's going on. After the round, I took a couple of junk balls out to the driving range and hit a couple of 3 woods. Put a little more speed in my backswing and swung aggressively, striped them! That's golf. russtopherb, artful_golfer, DiscipleofPenick and 9 others

Kenny B
I haven't swung a club since last Sunday. I was supposed to play at another course in town on Tuesday and Thursday but on Monday I woke up with a knot in a muscle in my lower back. By Monday night I could hardly move so canceled golf for the week... until today. Back is better; not sore but muscles are very tight. I had a massage yesterday that helped and I did a lot of stretching before the round today. Warmed up on the range, and it wasn't pretty. On the 1st tee I told my wife and the other couple that I thought I would break 100; not the good way. I haven't shot 100+ on this course in... ever! 50/41 for 91 with a triple and three doubles. I couldn't stay down through the ball. I managed a few good pars on the back nine, and my drives on #16 and #18 were fairly decent even for a health Kenny B. My back didn't hurt, but it was far from normal feeling. Oh BTW, my wife finally beat me, but she probably would have anyway with her 83. Best round she's shot since I've known her!! Popular Post Peaksy68
Played a very casual 9 with my older daughter. She hasn't been on the course since January, and swung the club really well. She was 12 over for the 9, with 2 x 4 putts and a 3 putt. I drove it well and putted well, had 3 over with a double despite poor irons. After a tough couple of weeks it was great to get out there with my daughter, I had a couple of beers and she had a cider for her first on course drink. Not sure if I'm a good influence. GolfSpy AFG
79 yesterday. A very bad ball-striking day; 33% GIR, 46% FIR. On the positive side, I scrambled pretty well, and I've now gone 4 consecutive rounds without a 3-putt so i'm pretty happy with that. I know it sounds like a cliche, but I feel very very close to shooting some really good scores, I just need my ball-striking to shore up and keep the putter going. I hit several dead pulls off the tee, and some toey weak flares with irons that I think are just a result of me not swinging in a good sequence, but I'm going to get there, and soon... cnosil, kardboard.kid, tony@CIC and 4 others 7 Quote Driver: TSR2, Ventus Blue 6 S, 65g Stiff FW: TSR2 3w, 15, Ventus Blue 7 S, 70g Stiff Hybrids: Apex Pro 3H, Ventus Blue 8 S, 80g Stiff Stealth DHY 4H, Ventus Blue 8 S, 80g Stiff Irons: SMS 5-6, SMS Pro 7-PW, Aerotech Steelfiber i95 Stiff Wedges: SM9 48 F Grind, 52 F Grind, 56 M Grind, Aerotech Steelfiber i95 Stiff Putter: Sri-Hot 5K Triple Wide, Stroke Lab shaft Ball: Pro V1 Click here for my HONMA TR20 Official Review! Popular Post The Mad Hacker
78 yesterday at Oxford Greens in Connecticut, my personal best! It's a demanding course that requires accuracy off the tee, as well as a strong putting game. The Driver was working (72% of fairways hit), which certainly helped. 45% GIR, with 33 putts, 2 birdies and 9 pars.
