dlow206
Shot a 102. Bunker play hurt me again. Too many holes that took multiple shots to get out of the bunker. Driver was a bit wild off the tee as well. Made a life changing discovery though. Hovering instead of grounding my irons. Instead of hitting fat shots or low balls, I was hitting high, soft landing irons. Hovering allowed me to make ball first contact instead of hitting the turf. zrumble
Shot an 83 today, still working on a swing change. Wouldn’t normally be proud of an 83 necessarily on its own, but today I played PGA WEST Stadium course from the back-most tee placement today. While not the 7300 yard beast it can be, I controlled the ball for the most part and almost broke 80 the first time ever playing the course, if it weren’t for a double-double finish after a birdie on 16. Yes, the water ate a golf ball on Alcatraz island green from 165 yards. Man that green is SMALL. The course looked fantastic, it was 54 when we teed off mid 60s when we finished, it felt like fall golf. Yep, when I took the down swing on my second shot, it felt like someone was holding my shoulder back. It is still sore, but overall I can move on most directions but lifting my left arm above my head. I'm calling the doctor's office early tomorrow and try to see my doctor and make sure there is no serious damage. EDIT The funny thing is that, I was driving the ball well, and hitting what felt like really well struck balls, then I started hooking the ball on the 7th hole, which is not my tipical miss, I finally got back to hitting straight on 14 and 15, I should have noticed that some was amiss. Kenny B
We didn't play on Saturday since we played on Thursday last week. Sooo, how do I have FOUR (4) doubles in the first 6 holes without hitting OB or into penalty areas?? I found 3 ways; poor ball contact, poor short game, and poor decisions. Shot 48/37 for 85. I decided to have another double at the turn... double BV and 7UP. Should have had one before I started!! My wife shot 44/40 for 84. Arrrgh! EDIT: We decided to play an "emergency nine" after we finished. Another poor decision... my wife started getting her heat stroke symptoms on #5, but wanted to keep playing. I should have insisted we we head to the car. On #7 she relented and we made it home to a shower and a long nap. She's better today. These 100º days can be brutal to her. We are supposed to play at our sister course across the Columbia River on Labor Day; we get 1/2 off greens fees because of our membership at our course. However, the wind is blowing, and it is forecasted to be 20-45 mph when we tee off at noon. We may decide to cancel and play our course instead. I don't see a reason to pay extra to play in poor conditions. cksurfdude, fozcycle, THEZIPR23 and 1 other 4 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

MrBandit
Played 2 times this weekend.. The last 4 rounds have been a consistently rounds of 82. With 37, 38, and 39 on either on the front or back of the rounds. Silly mistakes escalating the scores quickly. Today round was consistent driving, irons, chipping and putting. With the exception of 2 par 3 which, the iron was stroke well but either slight pull or push. And bad around the greens on those holes cause uncessary doubles. Hitting 9 GIR/ 10 FWY / 30 Putts. Felt great finally putting a decent round front and back 39 / 39. Just tried not do too much with each hole, played each shot and tried not make things worse Edited September 7, 2020 by MrBandit MaxEntropy, cksurfdude, MattF and 2 others 5 Quote Driver: TaylorMade Qi10 MAX - 8.5 with Fujikura Speeder NX TCS 50 (secondary shaft HRDZ Black 6.0 Stiff) 3 -Wood: Sub70 949x 3 Wood 15 with Hrdz RDX Black Stiff 5-Wood: Sub70 949x 5 Wood with Hrdz RDX Black stiff 4-Hybrid: Sub70 949x 4 Hybrid with Project X 5.5 Hybrid Stiff Irons: Mizuno Pro 225 - 6-PW , w/Nippon Modus 105 Stiff Wedges: Sub70 TAIII w/Nippon Modus 105 Stiff - 50 ,56, 60 Putter: L.A.B Mezz1, 34 in Balls: MaxFli Tour X, TaylorMade Tour Response, TaylorMade TPx GPS: Shot Scope X5 with Tracking TESTED: SUB70 949X 5 Wood TESTED: NIPPO N.S. sirchunksalot
51/48 99 today 7/14 fairways 3/18 greens 37 putts I've had a long Labor Day weekend and was hoping to get out to play at least twice, but yard work and family time have taken precedence over playing. I'm off tomorrow, but needed to go to the eye doctor for more prescription sunglasses for me and my wife. I'm just happy I got to play today and had a blast doing it. The round started out rough, my contact was horrendous and I showed my newfound mastery of the pull-top on several occasions. For a while I thought about leaving at the turn and just saying forget about it, but I made the conscious decision to relax. I have a tendency to be pretty tense with my swing and I know I need to loosen up, but it's hard for me and I had to keep the thought in my head every shot. Once I did, my game improved. I still had some bad shots, but honestly, they didn't bother me as much. My shot of the day was this SW that Arccos measured at a gargantuan distance. Eat your heart out Kyle Berkshire Just kidding, it was a putt from off the fringe that Arccos measured at 61 feet and after that SW, it could have been tap in distance. The ball was just in front of where I am standing and was a nice left to right breaker that just died in the hole. I'm glad no one saw the celebratory dance, it probably wasn't pretty to see but it felt good. I also hit a 5 iron to 12 feet on a par 3 I was pretty impressed with and a 5 wood from 177 out of the rough to 16 feet on the par 4 11th. It's those shots that keep us coming back for more.
