Popular Post tony@CIC
Well I chalked up another cra**y round - 100. This time at Eagle Creek which is one of my favorite courses in northern Ohio. My driver has been getting steadily worse - it started just before the northern Ohio get together. At the outing I had just a couple of sky balls then and its getting steadily worse. I had 6 bad drives today - all sky balls. I've been reviewing everything - position, grip, alignment, etc. to no avail. I called my instructor on the way home and told him I need an intervention so we're meeting up for a half hour lesson tomorrow. If that doesn't work, I'm calling a sports psychologist. Kenny B
I played on Wednesday with my wife, BIL from Seattle, and my buddy that used to walk with me on Old Guy Mondays. He moved to the other course in town to play in the Wolf game that I join once in a while. He's a 77 year old Marine and has been playing very well lately; shot 74 on Tuesday and has shot even par this year. This was his first time back at my course, and he struggle a little on the front nine, but made a comeback on the back nine. I shot +2 on the front with one birdie but started to fall apart on #14 and 15 with a double and a bogey. I manage to close birdie; par. Shot +5 on the back for a round of 79. My buddy shot 80... a rare time that I beat him. He informed me that there may be a permanent opening in the Tue/Thu Wolf game coming up. I don't know if I'm up for 18 holes on Tue, Thu, Sat, and Sun plus a 9-hole walking round on Monday. fozcycle, CarlH, cksurfdude and 3 others 6 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

Popular Post Sluggo42
Im not sure if its the 4 months of swim spa exercise, and dropping 20 lbs, or if its the new MavriK , or my new swing finally settling in, but my driving distance has become a weapon for me, as I'm getting 270-280 more and more. I know thats not long for many of you, but at 64.5 years old, my old usual distance used to be 230-250. Obviously not every time, but.... I had 4-5 that were in the 260-280 yesteday. Played a weird "stag day" event at my friends club, and it was a full 4-man scramble. It was the "Diabolical" tourney, where the pins were all placed in the absolute worst spot on every green. Putts had to go in, or they would roll for miles, many times right off the greens. I think we ended up at -4, haven't heard if we were competitive yet... Everyone also had to get at least 3 drives each, which cost us two bogies I think as one of our players is a little older and can't hit it very far, but he's a great putter. It was a blast anyways. xOldBenKenobiX
After over a month of no golf, shoulder and leg injuries in between, I got a chance to go out and play. We played the back 9 of Lakes of Taylor twice this morning. it was the maiden round of the SpeedZone Xtreme, and oh boy was it ever good. Again I cannot thank @GolfSpy STUDque Cobra, Arccos and MGS for the awesome prize. I hit it from every tee box except the par 3s, so I got 14 hits overall. I average 220 yards off the tee. which is up 11 yards from the TS2. For the entire summer, I hit my TS2 driver 159 times with a pretty even misses left and right, and very low fairway hits. analysis bellow. As for the Cobra, well it was a day of fairways, of the 14 shots 13 were fairways, to the right shots were still on the fairway, I do not know why Arccos marked them as a miss. This club was amazing today, the left duck hook that I hit only went 139 yards, but it was not at all bad. The cobra fells lighter than the TS2 and a bit shorter. I had no issues on finding the center or close to center of the club face with consistence. The red circle was my worse shot of the day. The club looks awesome at address. Some pictures of the round. The SpeedZone is here to stay. I shot 45 and 46 respectively, which I am pretty happy about it. StrawberryShortCake
Played the worst game of the season last week played the best game of the season this week. I played a United way charity tournament today and it went amazing I don't think I'll take a trophy because there's some very good players but nonetheless I played incredible today. I missed a hole in one because it lift out and I got a birdie from 6 in. On the par 5 on the back 9 from 220 out I had a good lie so I said screw it and hit my driver off the deck and nailed the green and it's stuck. Freaking three-putted for a bogey but that driver off the deck shot was awesome.the guys I was playing with said they'd never seen it that happen. Chip Strokes
44/47 for a 91. i had a real chance of breaking 90 for the first time, but i made a real mess of the last 5 holes. still, teed up at 18 needing par for an 89 and promptly lost my drive OB to the right. so it goes. on the plus side...i putted really well. i think i had 3 one-putts MattF, cnosil, xOldBenKenobiX and 2 others 4 1 Quote SIM2 8º | KuroKage XD 70TX SIM 3W 14º | Fujikura Atmos Black Tour Spec 9TX SIM2 5W 18º | Fujikura Ventus Black 10X U500 2i | Fujikura Ventus HB Black 10TX T100 4-PW | Dynamic Gold X7 SM6 52* SM8 56* SM8 60* | Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 DW | BGT Stability Tour
Chip Strokes
and just to cap off the round, i got off the 18th green and realized i didn’t have my phone. drove back to where i hit my last two shots from, but it was too dark to see anything. back to the course at 5:30 this morning and found my phone using my wife’s phone to track my location Grand Stranded, xOldBenKenobiX, MattF and 2 others 5 Quote SIM2 8º | KuroKage XD 70TX SIM 3W 14º | Fujikura Atmos Black Tour Spec 9TX SIM2 5W 18º | Fujikura Ventus Black 10X U500 2i | Fujikura Ventus HB Black 10TX T100 4-PW | Dynamic Gold X7 SM6 52* SM8 56* SM8 60* | Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 DW | BGT Stability Tour
Slater
I played okay, shot 79 on a local public course. Greens were just sanded that day and the tee boxes were dirt. Very annoying. I did have 3 birdies, which hasn't happened in years. It was more luck than skill haha. xOldBenKenobiX, cksurfdude, cnosil and 1 other
