fixyurdivot
First winter round in AZ on Tuesday at Las Barancas. 38/42 with 27 putts... only 12 on the front!! We play a fewest putts bet for a quarter and Mick said he's pretty sure that's a record for our groups. The G410's felt awesome and had me thinking about why I'm considering a bag fitting. I'm sure some rounds are forthcoming that will have me wondering why I haven't done so already, but wow, they sure felt and performed well Tuesday. Maybe these iron heads reshafted with composite? Perhaps a reshaft on the G410P driver? I'd love for it to be a challenge to the fitter prying my fingers off the current gamers . Playing Desert Hills today and Mesa Del Sol Saturday. The courses are in really good shape considering the scorching summer they had here. I was expecting much drier and firmer conditions. Many of the courses have invested heavily in reclaimed/recycled water systems and they are no doubt getting lots more mileage/drop. Popular Post yungkory
+1 38 (par 37) 6/7 FiR 7/9 GiR 17 putts (one 3-jack) Today was one of those days where things worked. I was honestly 3 lip outs away from playing out of my mind/body/existence whatever you want to call it. I was -1 through 7 and then made double after nuking the green from 78y, wups. On in 4 and 3-putted for double, for 1 birdie, 7 pars, and said double bogey for the round. I think I've found my iron swing again, my last two rounds have been very solid from a ball striking perspective. Don't know how to explain what I'm doing using the English language, but I am feeling like I'm just dumping my wrist. It felt prior like I would swing very rigid (think Bryson) with my irons and I think it was making my AoA very flat. I was hardly taking divots anymore. Now I just feel like I'm trying to flip, like you're told not to, and it's... working? Ball flight is still piercing but it's going high, and I'm not losing any distance. 6i from 180 to literally 8": PW into the wind from 124 to 5' (I missed): A cat: Feels good to hit my irons well again, it's been a struggle for the better part of 2020 honestly. Need to make a couple more putts within 10' and I'll be very happy. edingc
Brrrr! Had some sunny weather that pushed temps up just past 40 after a hard frost last night. Quite the difference from the 65 degree day I had for my rounds Tuesday. Went back to the "goat track" and played another practice round of 14 holes. Played three or more balls on the first 11, and then played the final three holes "for real." Had a lot of fun, made several birdies, lots of pars and don't think I doubled any of the balls I played. Still lots of things to work on, but I hit some really good shots and some really bad ones. About normal for me. I think next week officially starts the "offseason" and a move to the heated range. EDIT - Not that it matters, but I was +1 over the final three "real" holes. Parred the par 4, bogied the par 3 after missing my 12 inch tap-in (dumb), and parred the par 5. Had decent looks at birdies on the first two holes and didn't miss by much. Still loving the L.A.B. DF 2.1. Kenny B
My wife talked me into playing today; not sure why since she can't swing a club yet until the stitches come out. Cold... 43º with a 20-30 mph wind. She wanted to walk, so I got stuck with the cart; cold just sitting there. She drove starting on the back nine and I walked on most holes. Shot 85. Only 2 GIR from 9/13 fairways hit, but I only had 28 putts. Unfortunately, most of the one-putts were for bogey. The first green I hit in regulation was the par 4 #14 for a tap-in birdie. I followed that up with a pushed 6i into the bunker on the par 3 #15, but got a sandy par. It wasn't as bad as it looked, mostly coming up short because of the head winds and my stubbornness to club up twice. Sometimes hitting a 6i at a flag that's 150y just seems wrong, but there were some stiff winds and I should've just done it. Missed a lot of what I would call makeable putts, and a double bogey from 120y away in the fairway cost me a round in the 70s. CarlH
Cold, damp, and slow play today. We played the whites at 6500 yards two days after getting 3 inches of rain because I have friends from Long Island visiting, and they wouldn't buy into the 'ball not traveling thing down here like it does back home" thing the starter and I tried to warn them about. It was a long, hard day on a wet, sloppy course (cart path only), but I managed to get in with an 88. Incredibly frustrating day with my irons though, as my gremlins reappeared and I missed almost every green short and left. The only good thing about all the poor iron play I've had recently is my short game keeps getting better and better. I hit a lot of great wedges that gave me a par or an easy two putt bogey. The problem is I'm not going to score the way I should doing that, I need to hit some greens... As for my friends? I think they learned there lesson. One shot a 90, the other two struggled to break 100. We're playing the Norman Course at Barefoot at 1230 today, and they've agreed to play the Whites at 6100. CarlH
We cancelled today....sloppy conditions from rain last night, still raining and expected to drizzle/rain off and on all day. Recent lock-down guidance issued by our governor (Oregon) has resulted in the cancellation of our 3-man Turkey Tournament scheduled for Friday. Our golf courses will remain open, limited one person per cart (unless family), dining and clubhouse restricted for take-out only, etc. Lockdown scheduled for 2 weeks, but given the rate of cases in this county, it will likely last longer. sirchunksalot, Kenny B, yungkory and 3 others 4 2 Quote Driver: Rogue ST Max (10.5* set at -1 and neutral) -- Mitsubishi Tensai Blue 55g R shaft Fairway: Rogue ST Max 3 wood (16.5*) and Heaven Wood (20*)-- Tensai Blue 55g R shaft Hybrids: Rogue ST Max 5H (23*)--Tensai Blue 55g R shaft Irons: Apex CF19 6-9, PW, AW -- KBS Tour Graphite TGI 70 shafts R +1/2 inch 3* upright Wedges: Edison 53* and 57* KBS PGI 80 Graphite +1/2 inch 2* upright Putter: L.A.B. dlow206
Feeling pretty down after my round today. Didn’t do anything well, and felt like i forgot how to hit a pitch and chip shot. And i injured my right lat early on in the round, probably made my round worse. only thing that was ok was putting with my new wristlock style. overall, feeling pretty discouraged to be honest cksurfdude, MattF, sirchunksalot and 2 others 1 4 Quote Follow my golf journey to break into the 80s Tester for the Titleist TSi Driver Spring 2020 MGS Tester for the Fujikura Motore X Shaft Updated 07/15/2022 Driver: Rogue St Max LS - Autoflex Fairway Woods: Rogue Max St 3HL and 7 Wood Irons: JPX 921 Hot Metal 5 to AW - Aerotech Steelfiber i95 Stiff parallel tip Wedges: Glide 4.0 54 and 58 Putter: PLD Custom Kushin

Managed an 86, with a few too many doubles. Next 18 hole round...at least six weeks away . Good luck with the surgery, and I hope you have a speedy recovery. cksurfdude and jddaigneault
