There are times where I wonder why I even left the house to play as well. It's never due to weather, though 😔

Yeah, yeah. Rub it in. 😉

I'm not too upset. Even with COVID stuff and fairly typical Michigan weather, I've played at least one round per month since March, and I think this was either round 76 or 77 for the year. I'll never match that again, this year had so many special circumstances that led to that number of rounds.

Just disappointing to end the year (most likely) playing the course I did. Felt like I struck the ball pretty well (at least on the first nine), but the greens just didn't let me really close out the year on a good note.

79 (40/39). Still just not comfortable at address yet. Hit some great shots with my 5 iron! Driver issues mid-round again- hitting the “topspin forehand, cross court”... Could’ve  easily been 75! Ugh

Don't worry I followed in your footsteps and shot a 43 while hitting 100% fairways 😂

First two holes I felt great. I put the TourB X back in play and forgot how long this ball is. Blasted driver off the first two tees, 64y left on #1 for an easy 2-putt par. I had 215 into the par 5 and chose to layup because the green is surrounded by bunkers and hazard left right and long. Layup to 55y and put it to 8' then lipped the birdie, which would happen two more times today.

Two other times I forgot that the BX is long and nuked the green, and was unable to get up and down. Some trouble on the greens as well and, yeah... Why did I even play today

83 - 43/40

6 FIRs / 7 GIRs

33 putts / 12 chips

0 birdies but 1 eagle

I played with my regular group this morning in an unusually great weather day. Low 50/High 65. First time getting to walk in a while, really enjoyable round. For my actual score, it was a scramble. Putting was off On some holes, drives were off on others.

Hole of the round was a 540 yd par 5. My drive caught a slope and ended as a 330 yd drive. With the pin in the front, I had 140 in. Put it to 20 ft and sunk the eagle!

finally warmed up after over a week of frost delays and cold, damp weather.

I played TPC Myrtle Beach, which is one of the best courses down here, imo. It was 68* and sunny when we teed off at 10am. That's the good news...

I'm not sure whether the 20* rise in temp had anything to do with it, but the course was infested with lady bugs! I'm not talking a few, I'm talking swarms. Hitting you in the face, sticking all over your body swarms. We were swatting, picking them off in bunches..

On the 8th hole my partner lined up his putt, and before he could roll it, 4 of the suckers were on his ball. That was it, we'd had enough. We drove past the 9th hole, went into the clubhouse, and they gave us a 9 hole raincheck, which they didn't really have to do, but I think I caught a break because two of my 4some are members there.

What a crazy day!!!

I’m back! After 3 weeks off due to Covid19, then two practice rounds of 91 & 94, I played with the Friday Senior Members and Shot 41/42:83! I had 3 birdie lips that didn’t fall. Holes #14 & #15 were my downfall with doubles on each one. Overall, I felt good and my strength held.

Glad to hear you're back Foz.

This weekend doesn't look good for golf, so Martha and I went out to walk 9 holes; her first round playing her whole bag after her hand surgery.  She had a few shots that stung her left hand, but overall she hit the ball very well.  She reached two par 5's in 3 shots; very rare even with a tailwind and there was almost no wind.  Good ball striking, but putting was waaay off.

It was a so-so day for me; I parred the first 4 holes (missed every birdie putt), then bogeyed 4 of the next 5 holes.  I've done better, but I've certainly done worse too.  It was a nice day that turned chilly as the sun started to go down.  We have snow coming on Sunday... yuck!

Still struggling, but some signs of improvement. 14 over playing off 8, but conditions were tough. The rough is pretty solid at the moment, this is on the 16th, a miss by 2 feet is probably a lost ball

Despite driving the ball well, I really struggled with my approaches. Played much better on the second 9, played the last 6 holes in 1 over after a run of 8 straight bogeys 🤮

Yesterday was not a good golfing day, but, like a true addict, I played anyway.  Temperatures stayed around 36, give or take a few degrees, overcast and threatening rain.  Only played as a threesome, so we just played Nassaus around.  None of us played particularly well, although the guy I had to give 2 strokes to, played the front side lights out, while I stunk it up.  I couldn't make up for lost ground on the back nine and lost to him, but tied the lower handicapped player (net), who didn't play well either.  Clothing restricted my swing quite a bit and it took awhile to settle in.  I didn't keep the score, but I believe I shot an 84 for the day.  Over my handicap, but it was cold outside, baby!

Today we gathered for our Saturday game with 43 players to honor Tony Fusco. Tony passed in July at age 77. He was not only a beloved member of Pebble Creek, but also spent his spare time working with paraplegic children helping them enjoy the game of golf. So we honored Tony by donating $2,965 to the Never Say Never Foundation. Tomorrow we honor a Tony with a Celebration of Life at Pebble Creek GC.

Tony also held clothing donations for women and children to supply the local battered wife shelters with much needed clothing.

Tony coached the U19 women to two national soccer championships then won the Jr Olympics in 1984. President Reagan wrote a thank you letter to Tony.

Tony will surely be missed.

Got out yesterday for 9 holes.  Drove the ball fantastic and hit it incredibly solid off the tee.  Probably my longest average driving day of the year.  A little bit off directionally, but not much.  Approach play was not good and had too many greenside shots.  Also could not make the 6 - 8 footers that I left myself with so I ended up with 5 bogeys and a 41.

Played better than that overall in my mind, but still can't complain to play golf in December.  Likely, I'll be transitioning to hitting balls in the garage for the next 3 - 4 months now.

So today was my last round for probably at least 6 weeks and I ended on a high note... I played the Dye Course at Barefoot and shot 41-41-82. that's about as good as I've ever scored on that course, so I couldn't have been happier.

The bad news is the game we played was the same as last Saturday. 8 two man teams $20 per man. $20 for a CTP and the winning team on the front, back and low total each get $100.

Last week my partner and I went -4, -2 and won the front, back and total for $300. this week on a tougher course we shot the same score, -2, -4, but got shut out. Three teams shot -6 total and we lost the TB, and one of those teams won the back with -6 which is a great score, so good on them!

It will be a while bedore I can post about "how I played" after today, but I'll be checking in to see how you guys are playing while I freeze my butt off on Long Island, LOL.

After playing 9 holes yesterday and her hand not hurting too bad, my wife and I headed out to the course this morning to play with another couple.  It was 34º when we got there but no frost delay.  It warmed up to 43º by the time we finished.

My wife had several mishits which hurt her hand, but she managed to still shoot 88.  I shot 82;   Zero birdies 🙄, 8 pars and 10 bogeys with a ::::Personal Best::::

4 out of 4 sand save pars (tap-ins)!!

Enjoy the Frozen North
Keep checking in

Wow!  They don't give you an intermediate cut of rough, do they?

Way to end the round!!

Most holes you get 1 mower width, maybe 2. There are quite a few spots like this on that are straight into the 6 inch plus rough.  To say the members are not happy with it is understating things.  The mowing patterns have supposedly been the same as normal, but it's been a high growth year due to much higher rainfall. The superintendent doesn't adapt well.

60 degrees in mid december?! bet your ass i got out for an afternoon round.
i had never broken 90 before today...and i shot an 82!!
40 on the front/42 on the back
we finished up basically in the dark, which made the last few holes a mess. bogey/double/bogey on 16-18, otherwise we might be talking about breaking 80.
what a way to finish the season up. real winter weather rolls in tomorrow. 30s and snowy.

Congratulations, on your way to a 78!
