Popular Post DPattGolf
Played Widgi Creek in Bend yesterday from the tips. My play was a bit sloppy and disappointing but I was able to scrap together a 73 (+1). Highlight of the round definitely was blasting 2 good shots (including one of the longest 2 irons I have ever hit) on the 3rd hole and reaching the 653 yard par 5 in 2. sirchunksalot, Chip Strokes, tony@CIC and 7 others 9 1 Quote * Staff Professional* Driver: Stealth Plus+ (7.25*) - Fujikura Ventus Black 6X Tipped 1" 3 Wood: Stealth Plus+ (14.25*) - Fujikura Ventus Blue 7x Tipped 1" Driving Iron: P790 UDI 2 iron - HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX 100 6.5 4 Iron: P790 - KBS C-Taper 130 X Irons (5-7) P7MC - KBS C-Taper 130 X Irons (8-P) P7MB - KBS C-Taper 130 X Wedges: MG3 Black 50.09 / 55.11 - KBS TOUR FLT 130 X 60* Wedge: High Toe Raw - KBS Tour 130 X Putter: Custom Black ER2 or Custom Black Del Monte Bag: FlexTech Stand Bag Glove: Tour Preferred Glove Ball: TP5X #11 RangeFinder: R1 Smart Rangefinder Instagram: @dpattgolf

Might want to give a PlaneMate a look if shallowing is your concern... Shoulder is good but there is still minor discomfort, I am actively pushing ROM as far as possible to maximize turn with no issues. I have been slacking a bit on weight training and rehab work but hit 200+ on squats and 250+ on DLs over the past month or two which are the highest since before COVID lockdowns in 2020. Need to progress these up to 250 and 300 respectively. I also tied a personal best of 190 carry with a 6 iron last night using this new backswing position from Gankas which is up 10 yards from average on that club. SC200 gave around 90 MPH club head speed, but I never fully trust that number from the unit. When we arrived at the course it was just over 40F and frost was still coming out of the ground in shaded areas. Left side back muscles were pretty tight which was the bigger issue for this round. Until, my new Adidas golf shoes gave me a blister the size of a quarter on the back of my foot by about hole 10. Planemate is tempting, might try to buy one 2nd hand as people give up using them. I have found a couple drills without a club to exaggerate the shallowing. This is nice indoors in sets of 5. Really trying to figure out the queues and feels to get my lower body rotation driven the transition. Popular Post chisag
... Well I have had 4 months of mediocre, out right bad and some occasionally pretty decent golf but only 3 total at par or under out of about 100 rounds. That said, I think I am finally figuring out desert golf and the conditions have improved quite a bit. Greens are rolling much better and I actually have some confidence in my reads now. What has been hardpan around the greens has grown in with just enough wiry Bermuda grass to miss a chip/pitch by 1/16th of an inch and not bounce into the ball. Today was one of those days where everything was working and I only had one bad shot when I hit a 9 iron a little fat from a downhill lie and missed a 6 footer on #8 hitting the low side and lipping out. Hit a drive into the last bunker on 18 that takes my best drive to even reach resulting in my only bogie of the day to stop me from having a clean card ... sigh. The rest of the day was my best round this year shooting under my age for the first time. And I am really, really liking my King Tour irons. Popular Post cksurfdude
Played 9 on a new-to-me course from the very player-friendly Green / Senior tees .. except for one Par 3 these tees are at the back edge of the most forward teeing ground and let you avoid a few dangerous looking forced carries from the White/Blue/Yellow tees! Actually got to play solo, too .. was supposed to be paired with a couple, but tee time came and no one showed so with the next foursome queueing up I just took off. Round started off pretty well with a solid tee shot to the left of the fairway that ran away from the tee box at an angle to the right, followed by a solid approach onto the green. Two putt par! Second hole topped the tee shot but it still flew fairly straight and past trouble and into the fairway, and another solid approach on the green and another two putt par (wow .. this is like real golf you're playing out here dude!). Next hole - yep - thinned the tee shot and then fluffed the approach into the deep bunker .. which I did not escape on the first try .. second one out and towards the flag .. and left it not too far away .. nailed the downhill putt for a Bogey. Next hole was the Par 3 where the tee was near the front of the White/Blue/Yellow tees, yielding a 140ish yard shot into the breeze and all carry over a native fescue area below the level of the teeing ground and the green. This is one of those Par 3 greens that's sort of crescent-shaped; could not see any obvious bailout area right nor left, and didn't know what was behind the green so it was hit the right number or else. Well, after I chunked/duffed the first attempt into said native area, the next attempt I'm proud of - nailed it!! High and straight and right on the number. Got up there and saw I also got a large bit of luck thrown in - there's a ridge bisecting the narrower aspect of the green into sort of left-and right halves and the ball was on the hole's side of the ridge. Two putt par (what? plus the penalty, you say? what penalty?!? ) Rest of the round was a similar mix of a few really good, a few really not so good and a bunch of mediocre but playable shots. A few more pars and a bogey, another double and on the last hole I splashed not once but twice for a nice Triple. The fairway is one of those that narrows as it goes towards the green, there are bunkers and fescue mounds on the left and the fairway slopes left-to-right towards the water running all the way along the right. So yeah, I kinda choked.... But overall happy with the progress I'm making both with my swing and my developing ability to take a step back and try to think about where to play the ball to a safe area. Stay tuned! Popular Post bens197
First round of the year and it was some good and some bad. No scoring today, just golf. Some takeaways: The TP5 is slightly better than the Elixir. It's not leaps and bounds better, it just shines around the greens; performance on wedges gets the edge. I really love the feel of the TP5 and the 280 yard 3 woods I was hitting today would concur that the distance is AOK. I am still madly in love with my Hogan irons. Honestly, I can't say how grateful I am to have been a tester and I cannot imagine these being kicked out of the bag. They feel so good that I have finally gained that edge, the one where you feel like you cannot miss when they're in your hands. Back to the 3 wood. It's new and it was purchased following a comprehensive fitting. I was apprehensive about a stiff vs an X but my irons are stiff and driver is X so frankly, its a coin toss. The issue is, a lot more left today than I wanted. I love the feel of what I have I just need the dispersion to be a little bit tighter. Putting was awful, I didn’t make anything over 3 feet. It's a bummer because I had 3 consecutive looks at birdies on 8,9 & 10 all inside 7' and couldn't convert...I suppose the Betty found out she's being replaced within the week Other than that, back felt good and it was nice to play as a single, listening to The Masters live feed while playing on an open course. cksurfdude, Kenny B, GolfSpy_SHARK and 15 others 14 4 Quote Titleist TSi3 Fujikura Speeder NX Blue 60X TaylorMade SIM2 3 wood Fujilkura Ventus Blue 7-X Titleist U505 2 Tensei 1K Black 85 X Titleist T100 4-P Nippon Modus 3 120X PING S159 50-S 55-H 59-T DG X100 Vokey SM8 50, SM9 54 & 60 Nippon Modus 3 120s L.A.B. Popular Post Berg Ryman
Round one of 2021 is in the books, heck first swings of 2021, and it was... meh. No scorecard but this was the course I played for iron only round last year that I shot 81. Today was worse than that but we were able to recover on the second nine. For those of you wondering about how the SIK would perform in live action, it put some good rolls and held the line. Speed was tricky but after a few holes it was better. Driver was also going ok. No real two way miss which was a problem last season. The downside, iron play was a tragedy. Fat, fatter, and some would say fattest. Could get better with more time, but I'm looking at our local First Tee auction with some lessons packages in there. Might need a tune up before I try to really get playing in a good way. Popular Post Kenny B
Oh so close...!!! Dang it!! Got a call yesterday from my buddy that plays on a different course in town; the one I sometimes sub for their game of Wolf. Their course was closed for the plugging and sanding that my course went through last week. They needed a fourth for their Wolf game today and it was going to be at MY course!!! I played on Sunday and shot 78 so I was feeling pretty good about my game, but I went to the range on Tuesday and I sucked at hitting anything. So what will show up today? The 3 other guys are all about the same skill level as I am; 2 of them have a lower HI index; one is a little higher. The temp was mid-50's and the wind was 15-20 with higher gusts. I only hit 8 of 13 fairways and 4 GIR, BUT I birdied three of those holes; #4, 14 and 17. I was +3 of the front nine and -1 on the back nine for my best score in a few years... 74, and one shot over my age!!! Hole #14 is a risk/reward par4 that is drivable for the big hitters. I usually lay up, but today with the wind I decided to try to drive it over a hazard and large sand trap; came up short but in the sand a foot from the elevated green, and 30 yards short of the pin. I hit my 54º wedge to 2 feet for a sandy birdie on a par 4!!! There were a couple of holes that could have been a lot better... like the par 5 #6 hole where I hit a tree and had a double sandy bogey. I could have shot my age!! In a month it would be good enough!! I rarely beat the two guys with a lower index, especially on their course, but on my course I have an advantage. They shot 78 and 79... the other guy shot 88. Kenny B
On 4/8/2021 at 5:01 PM, Kenny B said: Oh so close...!!! I sent and email about my round to my coach, Monte Scheinblum, who I spent 3 days with a couple of weeks ago. He posted it on his Instagram page!!! https://www.instagram.com/p/CNcxsL4Ma-B/ Attending a Monte clinic is a treat and well worth the investment in your golf game. sirchunksalot, Rickp, cksurfdude and 4 others 7 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

Popular Post DiscipleofPenick
Got out and shot 76 this morning. 3 birdies 1 double, no penalties. 27 putts again, so I think the BirdieBall green is paying off. Got the driver swing back and started finding fairways. Popular Post MrBandit
Well it was 100% tale of two 9. Playing first day of a 2 day Tournament. I hurt my back on Monday so it's a tough go this week. I can swing just enough without hurtling my back. Front was a struggle to find a decent swing. By the 8th hole was starting to find something decent.. After a disastrous front 9.. Grind out a 1under 35 on the back.. Which I missed 3 birdies opportunity from 10-12 feet that just missed New driver Tour Edge EXO pro.. Is legit.. Hit the ball further than with my G410 and it fought to stay straight even when I was trying to make a bad swing. What I take about this round was I didn't mail it in after the front 9 and battle on the harder 9. Looking forward to tomorrow. Popular Post tony@CIC
I planted some shrubs around our condo yesterday. Being retired and slightly tight in the wallet, I decided to use a trowel I had in the garage instead of buying a shovel. What does that have to do with how you played today? I didn't realize I had gotten a blister in the middle of my palm from the trowel - which made itself known when it broke on the first hole today. Not a fun experience especially since it was on my left hand - being a lefty wearing right handed gloves. Still ended up carding a 93. Biting down on the bullet whenever I gripped the club really helped. bens197, Kenny B, NRJyzr and 10 others 4 9 Quote Left Hand orientation SIM 2 D Max with Fujikura Air Speeder Shaft Cobra Radspeed 3W/RIptide Shaft 410 Hybrids 22*, 26* Cobra Speed Zone 6-GP/Recoil ESX 460 F3 Shafts SM7 54* Wedge Glide 3.0 60* Wedge O Works putter V3 NX9-HD - 4 Wheel EZGO TXT 48v cart - too many shoes to list and so many to buy And BAG Boy Golf Balls: Vice Pro Plus 2020 Official Tester Beginning Driver Speed - 78 2019 Official Tester 410 Driver 2018 Official Tester C300

Popular Post CarlH
A horrendous day!! Well, the back 9 was. Shot a 38 on the front with a double bogey, ripped a drive on #10 down the middle and then disaster!!! Pulled my 6 iron to the left, leaving a tree blocking most of the green, so I went to punch out to the high side of the green, but hit the tree anyway. It bounced backwards, and my next shot went long over the green. Got down with a triple bogey 7. And that's not the worst that happened!!! Another double on @12 and another on 14 and again on 15 (15 was at least a lost ball...the other two were just bizarre ball striking). But on a reachable par 5 #16, it was even more hilarious! Nice drive to the middle of green with 175 yards to the pin and I almost miss the ball. It travels about 50 yards to the left, sort of behind a tree, but open to the green . Knock the next shot into the pond, take a drop and the next ball hits the bank and bounces into the pond again. Drop another ball and hit it long and then proceed to 4 putt the green! Wrote down an 11! (We had a medal game going on). You guessed it -- another double on 17! All of this is due to just insanely bad iron and wedge play. Well, remember that 38 on the front? How about a 56 on the back!!!! Adjusted 6 strokes and posted an 88 for my handicap score. OH EM GEE!!!! Glad none of you guys know me ... I'm really embarrassed by that back nine! If it wasn't so funny, I'd cry! cksurfdude, tony@CIC, MattF and 8 others 7 4 Quote Driver: Rogue ST Max (10.5* set at -1 and neutral) -- Mitsubishi Tensai Blue 55g R shaft Fairway: Rogue ST Max 3 wood (16.5*) and Heaven Wood (20*)-- Tensai Blue 55g R shaft Hybrids: Rogue ST Max 5H (23*)--Tensai Blue 55g R shaft Irons: Apex CF19 6-9, PW, AW -- KBS Tour Graphite TGI 70 shafts R +1/2 inch 3* upright Wedges: Edison 53* and 57* KBS PGI 80 Graphite +1/2 inch 2* upright Putter: L.A.B.
