I really took my time deciding on shots and it paid off! I actually didn't hit very many good shots from the tee today (bad case of the hooks with driver and Super Hybrid), but I hit my irons very well, chipped OK and putted excellently. And, down the stretch, my driver perked up for me. Played the front nine at even par for the first time ever, highlighted by a 25-foot birdie putt on No. 5. I was +2 coming to No. 16 (probably the second hardest hole on the course) and blasted a beautiful drive that led to a par. I very nearly hooked my tee shot on No. 17 out of bounds left, making a mess of the hole with a double bogey to get to +4 heading to No. 18 tee. (My previous best was +4 during Cobra Connect last summer.) Most of the pressure was off after the double bogey. I uncorked the longest drive I've ever hit on No. 18, 280 yards uphill, leaving 95 to the flag. Lined up a 58 wedge, landed a few yards short of the flag and ended up with my best approach all day. Knocked in the birdie putt for a new personal best. Feels amazing to put a great round together this early in the season. Lots of offseason work paying off! Fantastic round Cody! Popular Post Kenny B
Had my first 18 hole round with my new Mizuno MP20 HMB irons. I have been struggling with them on the range; feel so different and not making good contact. After a couple of weeks wearing shorts, today was a long pants day; 4 layers on top; headband over my ears; and I was still cold. Temp never got above 55º with 20+ wind; no sun. Not a bad day with the Mizzies. I still don't know how far the ball goes with each club, and with the wind I decided it didn't really matter anyway. Shot 43/41, so an 84 with only one double. I seem to have a pronounced draw with these clubs that I have never had before; I guess I need to play it until it doesn't. I had one approach shot into the wind and from the left with an 8i that looked very good... until it wasn't. Waaay short! And in a bunker! I could have used a 7i or maybe a 6i. I really love the feel of these clubs when I strike the ball solid; however, I need to strike the ball solid... more often. Popular Post RollingGreens
Well guys. I fell short today. 43 on the front I was off to a great start. Missed 2 putts I wish I could have back and 1 OB that was a big mistake with a 7 iron standing up in my downswing. Back was rough 49. I had a decent start, but played 14-17 on the double train which was a killer. The positive were 79% fairways hit. My driver since changing to the Tensei shaft has been a fairway finder, distance at 250+, only lost 2 balls on the front. 1 as stated above and the other going in the water in 7 which got me in the past. I think I am orientating my body poorly. The bad of the round 31 putts. No low it’s not all a result of bad putting but my irons stink right now. My accuracy to the green is poor. I haves why myself up in great scoring position off the tee but 7-my wedges are hot garbage. I’ll be taking the next few weeks to clean things up and likely use my free lesson with the club pro. I wish I could say it’s one thing but I’m all over, poor striking and placement. I don’t think it’s a big fix needed but I do need to make some adjustments because being that accurate off the tee with my driver should not yield that type of score Vegan_Golfer_PNW, MaxEntropy, Curtis Atkinson and 8 others 11 Quote Stealth 2 Plus 9deg Kai' li Red Stealth 2 13deg Aldilla Rogue Silver Stealth 2 15deg Aldilla Rogue Silver JPX 921 Hot Metal 4-PW Nippon Modus 120s SM8 54 and 58deg Dynamic Gold Wedge Flex Scotty Cameron Newport 2 Titleist ProV1 Hoofer Stand Bag Stewart Q Follow Electric Caddie 300 PRO Rangefinder Official Nippon Regio B+ Driver Shaft Review Official Stewart Q Follow Review

The L.A.B. (combined with EXPUTT) has made me such a better putter. My distance control is so much better than it used to be. A lot of easy tap-ins. Makes for a very stress free round. The belt buckle feel has been great for when I get "quick" and spin out my hips and shoulders. Getting a little bigger hip turn has helped a bunch, too. Popular Post TR1PTIK
Played my first round with some guys from a Facebook Group at Bear Creek - West. Nice course though it was a little wet. We played from 6200~ yards and had a good time. Thought I'd be making a return to "normal" finally after a good range session and piped drives through the first few holes. Apparently the golf gods found humor in my thinking and decided to humble me by taking away the long ball at the turn... Wound up with a 92. First real greens for my old flat stick and it did not disappoint. Should have been a couple more one putts and no three putts had I aimed right. Divot board and keeping my back to target as long as possible really helping iron game only one fat iron shot sirchunksalot, GolfSpy_BNG, Kenny B and 10 others 13 Quote Follow my journey to enjoying golf and going low Driver: Epic Max LS Ventus Black 6x 44.5" 3wHL: Rogue ST LS 75x Tensei AV Blue w/ xlink 7w: Apex UW 21* MMT 80S DI: Caley 01X 18* with KBS PGH Stiff plus 95g 4-AW: 0211 with KBS Tour Stiff 2.5* up 3/4" long, Soft stepped, MOI matched Wedges Zipcore Putter: L.A.B. Popular Post DiscipleofPenick
Went out on the home course early with temps fighting to stay above 50. 77 from the whites, 1 birdie, 1 double. Oddly, it got colder as the round progressed. The high point was the last 5 holes at -1 which has been the opposite of my last few rounds which ended in collapse. Hit some bad chips, but finally hit some GIR so it balances.Take Dead Aim MattF, cksurfdude, GolfSpy_SHARK and 9 others 12 Quote Take Dead Aim Driver: PXG 0211 10.5* Fairway: Titleist 917 F3 15* Hybrid: Adams Idea Pro Boxer Gold 18* Irons: MacGregor MT-86 Pro Wedges: Vokey 50/54/58 Putter: SeeMore X2 Costa del Mar Ball: Srixon Z-Star
Popular Post bens197
Played the first 6 at even with six straight pars and decided to string 3 bogeys for a +3 round. Dad wanted to get some fresh air and we agreed the executive down the road would be great. Nice 90 minute walk, the course was empty. Hit the sim2, 3w with the Ventus for the first time today and first impression was not bad. A lot tighter but the sample is still too small. One thing I did quite well was putt. 13 putts for the day on 1 GIR. Yep, just 1. Decent day but good company and a nice walk. Popular Post Tom the Golf Nut
I know you can get out on my course easily with little to no wait. But today was ridiculous. I'm the only car in the parking lot at 9am. I had the entire course to myself. I finally saw someone on hole #3 as I finished up on 18. Overcast and low 50's for temp. Had a little wind, of course it was into my face on the tough holes. Two bogies and one bird today. Hit all the fairways. So in the end I shot a respectable 72. Popular Post dlow206
I got tired today during my round, not 100% sure why, but I didn't eat breakfast and forgot my snack, so that probably contributed. Got lazy on a long uphill par 3, didn't want to swing hard with any club. So I pulled a driver lol. On this hole, I need to carry at least 200 - 205. Leave it short, its pretty much death, you are going to roll back down the hill at least 50 yards. Usually if i try to do something out of the box like this, it fails miserably. Took a nice and easy, shorter driver swing, hit it right on line a the flag, it landed on the green, but given it was a driver it came in hot, so it rolled off, but just a short chip shot back on to the green and then made my putt for par. Popular Post ncwoz
Wanted to get out today to get the bad taste from yesterday's round out of my mouth. Actually felt like I was playing really poorly, and was surprised to add up scores at the end and see 82! Ended up being another pretty windy round too, particularly the last 5 holes that are more exposed. Started getting some steady 15mph and gusts up in the mid 20's. 42/40 - 82 (+10, net +2) 5/15 FIR 8/18 GIR 34 putts (1 3-putt, 14 2-putts, and 3 1-putts) I was trying to really avoid the big numbers today, basically telling myself if I hit a good tee shot that I'd be gunning for par, and on poor tee shots just trying to make bogey. I actually did this pretty well, so I'm counting that as a win! I only had one double bogey, and no worse than that. My short game was feast or famine - I had some nice chips and pitches, but had a few spots where I should have been a good look at birdie, par at worst, but had really poor contact resulting in par/bogey. It's usually a decent enough part of my game, so I'll trust it'll come back into the season. Putted quite poorly as well, which is typically my biggest strength. Arccos so far this season has been telling me my approach game is where I'm losing the most strokes, and this round I was almost dead even compared to a 5 hcp. Feels good to be a little more back to normal! Still some room to improve, but it's a nice feeling to know I left a number of shots out there but was still low 80's.
