Kenny B
10 hours ago, Grand Stranded said: Thanks. I’m doing the same exact thing. Everything with my irons is out on the toe. I mentioned it after my previous round... I thought I wasn’t rotating enough to get the toe square or slightly closed at impact, which I think will cause impact out on the toe(?) I know I’m leading with my hands the way I should, but I just can’t center the ball on the face right now. I need to see someone also, to find out if I’m leading too much with the heel in order to “feel” like I’m coming from the inside, it’s my rotation, or just swinging too hard. Hopefully you’re right, and it’s an easy fix for both of us... do me a favor, let me know how the lesson goes on Saturday? I’m curious to hear what the tell you. What about that guy that helped you a year or so ago? Seemed like that went very well. tony@CIC, Grand Stranded, sirchunksalot and 2 others 5 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
toehold57
First warm round of the year for me. Winter practice appears that it will be paying off, played well once I was able to get into flow. I arrived late and had no warm up. A 9 and a pair of 7’s sunk any hope of a decent score but the hole of the day was 17. A good drive followed up with a solid iron to about 2ft. tony@CIC, gavinski91, sirchunksalot and 6 others 7

Seemed like that went very well. You have a great memory Kenny, he was great to work with, but he took a job as the Head Pro at a course in NC. I recently started seeing someone who actually works as a starter at one of the courses at my club. He’s retired now, but he played on what is now the Korn Ferry Tour years ago, and was the Director of Golf for years at one of SC’s nicest private clubs. I like him a lot, and he’s a very good teacher. My back issues started right after our first lesson though, so I haven’t been the best student. I haven’t been able to work my drills and practice the way I should until just recently. I talked to him after my round, and he basically told me the same thing cnosil did earlier today... enjoy my daughter’s wedding and my family visit up on Long Island, we’ll get to work when I get back down in June. twyatt700
Got to play sunday with the pops and brothers after a long lay off from my procedure Anyways, shot an 83 that could have been much better if I could make a putt! Had one birdie on the day but had 8 other birdie putts that barley missed! I'm going to blame the punched greens! I feel like I've hit every course the week they do that! Either way it was a solid ball striking and chipping round. I've been very happy with that after the lessons. Ben_Howell34
Wasn’t my best today. 90 at a pretty easy course, Bent Brook. I drive it pretty well mostly, average around 280 yards. But irons and chipping were rough. 3 chipped twice and bogeyed the easiest par 5 in the Birmingham metro area. Need to upgrade some irons which I think would help my game somewhat. If I can get a consistent short game 85 will be my ceiling. ncwoz
Had a 2 hour frost delay this morning, but once we got out put together a very tidy round! Finally had a round I knew I was capable of after a slow start to the season! 41/42: 83 (+11, net -3) 4/18 FIR 7/18 GIR (including a 6 hole streak from 11 to 15!) 34 putts (1 3-putt, 3 1-putts) Had some fantastic shots, including a 384 yd drive (see Shot of the Day thread), 280 yard and 264 yard 3 iron on two tight tricky par 4's (thank you Ben Hogan UiHi), and a number of short iron/wedges that I had great contact and distance control. Had a few stinker holes where I made bogey and shouldn't have, and made 2 doubles, but for me that's pretty darn good. Short game was solid but not perfect, which left me with a lot of putts just outside of high % make range. Putting was solid but not outstanding either, I had a lot of chances for birdie or par saves from 10-15 feet that didn't fall - but still played well enough tee to green to get a really solid score together! tony@CIC, CarlH, GolfSpy_SHARK and 5 others 8 Quote Right Handed Driver: 9° Speedzone (HZRDUS Smoke Green 70g X-Stiff shaft) 2 Hybrid: 18° Exotics EXS Pro (Evenflow Black 6.5) (2020 MGS Official Review here) 3/Driving Iron: 18° UiHi Iron (MMT Utility TX 105g shaft) Irons: 4-GW T100 irons (Nippon Modus 120 X-Stiff shafts) (2021 MGS Official Review here) Wedges: 54° & 58° TSW Forged (Dynamic Gold S300) Putter: ER2B (2019 MGS Official Review here) Ball: MAXFLI Tour X Bag: Hoofer Lite WITB thread here

GolfSpy_BNG
Played an ok quick 9 last night after work and a horrible 9 this morning. Last night managed a +3 39. Started par, bogie, bogie and couldn’t hit a fairway or green to save my life. Refocused myself and then went par, birdie, birdie to get back to even. I followed that up with a par, bogie, double to finish. This morning’s round was miserable due to wind and cold 39* and 10mph winds make it very hard to loosen up. I managed 3 pars on the day but mixed in a plethora of bogies and doubles to finish +8 44. They can’t all be great but it sucks to end my sub 40 streak. Time to start a new one! Popular Post Tom the Golf Nut
It was Demo Day at the club today so spent an hour testing drivers from the big four. Nothing was earth shattering compared to my G400 until I hit the Titleist tent. It was magic. Gained close to 20 yards. Wish I could have taken it on the course. TSI 1 10 degrees with an Aldila TSI Ascent 40 shaft in Stiff flex. Bombs away! So now that I was warmed up I decided to play 18. Well I was already there right! Popular Post Tom D.
Played the back nine, and got a bit of a later tee time than usual (called later than usual to reserve). Pitched in for a birdie on par three 13th from about 35' after a short tee shot. On 17 I hit the best 4wood I may have ever hit, and made the green (usually short on this hole, and have only parred it a couple of times before), then sank the 30 footer for a birdie ! 18 is a 558 yard par 5 on which I am notoriously short, good drive and flushed another couple of 4 woods to get just short and right of the green; chipped to 5' and made the put for a very satisfying par (as it's most often a bogie or double). Will take quite a bit to wipe this grin off my face... I’ve really devoted myself to fishing in the last 6 months and Golf became that “other thing”. My fishing skills and overall fishing knowledge has improved as much as my golf index has risen. Fishing is an excellent sister hobby to golf... of course I'm a little biased in this thinking. If I had to give up fly fishing to shave 5 strokes off my handicap, I wouldn't do it. So, more details about the fishing por favor. It wasn’t as challenging as I’d imagined and to be honest, playing two balls on each hole is almost like a full-round warmup. 920 on Tuesday hopefully I’m by myself (I typically love going out as a group with new folks but I’m low key hoping to play this 2 ball and going to play both and somehow try to track what shots were bad) tony@CIC, cksurfdude, bens197 and 4 others 7 Quote Check out my reviews: G710 Irons Official Review I MC Shaft & V Series Putter Official Review 2022 Forged Tec's Official Review I Nitron Push Cart Official Review WITB: Weapons of grass destruction (link to WITB) Traverse is filled with all this shiny metal and tracked by RadSpeed 8* - MotoreX F1 6X SIM 3W - Project X HZRDUS Green U505 Driving Iron 17* - Project X HZRDUS Black SpeedZone 4H - Project X HZRDUS Black 2022 King Forged Tec's 4-PW - KBS $ Tape 130 48 (SM8), 52 & 60 (SM7) - Nippon Modus 125 S ER2VI PROV1X #19 Are you a veteran? If you really want a challenge, you do play 2 shots from every lie so in essence you are playing 2 balls. Hit 2 off the tee and play the worst one, then hit 2 balls from there and play the worst one, then 2 chips or 2 putts always playing the worst one or once you get on the green just one ball putting. Obviously there are many ways to play two balls and just playing out both balls is good too, as is playing the same as worst ball above but instead always using the better of the two shots.
