Me too. Every time I have made trips to Myrtle beach it seems I end up chunking or blading way too many chips on the tight Bermuda that we never see around Ohio.

Yeah, I don't really see it too much out here in NM, but I'm originally from Arkansas, so I've experienced it there...to my dismay/demise.

Does the grass prompt a technique adjustment to use more bounce and less leading edge or something? Technique changes seems like a bad idea...or do you just have less room for error?

Both...bermuda just always seems to grab my club more than I'd like...especially into the grain.

Crab Grass is technically a weed, but I guess if you are already practicing back there, what's the harm.

I will never let that take over my yard lol. There will always be some as its super invasive but if I ever get to that point it means I gave up on my yard.

Years ago when I was working at the local CC, a girl I knew was trying to qualify for the LPGA Tour and was back home in Michigan from Arizona. I asked her what she was up-to and she said she was traveling the US to play on the different grasses. At the time I had no idea what she was talking about, but now I get it. A pro does practice different shots based on the grass characteristics, which is crazy!!!!

I guess that's part of the reason Tiger has those different (grass type) greens in his backyard.

Played this morning with @rbsiedsc at Stone Creek in Oregon City.... Course was is in primo condition, firm and fast, and wearther here in the PNW is perfect.  I shot an 87 but it felt much better. Had a lot putts that could have gone in on another day.  Either way it was a great first time outting with another spy!

Stone Creek is the only course in the Portland area (prior to the 9 holes with @rbsiedsc at Redtail) that I have played; OGA being the only other one that's close.  The nines are certainly different from each other if I remember correctly.  The back nine certainly would take playing a few times to figure out what club to hit on a few holes.  It was in nice shape and I did enjoy it.

Bermuda IS Crabgrass.  I’m not a fan of Bermuda grass but deal with it because I like FL.

Gotta make choices😱

The 9 hole dog track where I used to play here in Washington had Crabgrass!!  The Pro called it bermuda.  🤣

I think I forgot how to hit my irons...😭 Do you ever get that feeling? My iron play has been like the stock market lately, up and down.  The only thing saving me is my putter and just recently picking up a Taylormade Sim2 driver with a Fujikura Motore X F3 shaft I've picked up a good 20+ yards and longest being in the 260 range, the shaft does really make a difference, HA! Who knew.

I had the same issue Sunday...for the last year or so my driver has been hit or miss but my irons, especially my short irons, have been so consistent...but Sunday I striped the ball of the tee...12/14 fairways and one of those misses was hit through a dogleg.

but my irons sucked...I hit so many thin or topped shots...Hell, I topped a 9iron into a ravine (I hardly ever hit bad shots with 9 iron or below)

thank goodness my chipping game was working and my putter was on fire or my score would have been bad!
