Popular Post kardboard.kid
Was able to get out yesterday and play in a Scramble. The "ringers" for our group didn't show, so my one son a 14HCP and me a 16HCP played 2 shots every hole. We managed to shoot an 3v3n par 72. Haven't been out playing in over a month, as I torn something in my forearm, and couldn't even use my arm to pick up items, let alone swing a club. Used the 3I a number of times. That is one fine club. Even with my limited strength I was still getting 180 yards out of it. Had to show off the nice Gap Wedge shot into 18. Popular Post ShaunieBoy652
Had a VaCa to see my granddaughter graduate from HS in Illinois. Wife didn't go so it was also a golf vacation! The local Muni is a good track, got to play 5 days straight. Kids don't get up until noon'ish so I played around 7 AM each day. Had an interesting thing happen on one of the par 5's I wanted to share. My tee shot was crap so I was laying up, just a 175-200 shot down the fairway, simple 4 Hybrid. Interestingly I hit the ball to the 150 marker (a one inch piece of PVC), not only to the marker, but the ball hit it on it's last bounce! Had to take relief least have the marker in the poop shoot :) Why does this matter, here's why; I've been listening to books on the mind game we play while playing this wonderful game. (Be a Player, Play You Best Golf Now, Golf in the Kingdom; Vision54 stuff) A lot of what the books talk about is visualization and how much better we'll play if we can get out of our own way. As soon as I hit the ball I knew it wasn't hard enough. After it bounced off the marker I quickly realized my body (subconscious) was focused on the 150 marker, not where my mind wanted the ball to go. This round was so horrible I didn't bother keeping score, but this lesson is one I don't want to forget! Popular Post sirchunksalot
Played a round today with a guy from work and his son who's still pretty new to the game. The son is 20 and a former baseball player and played really good for someone who might have thirty total rounds under his belt. If he can get his short game under control, watch out! We actually played 27 holes today, and I can feel it as I'm sitting here writing this. I'm going to be sore tomorrow, but it was worth it. As far as my game went I shot 55/52 107 on the first 18 with 4/15 fairways, zero greens and 35 putts. The last nine I shot 58 hitting one fairway, zero greens, and 21 putts. My driver killed me today, I had a bad case of the rights and lost several balls due to errant tee shots. Two of which absolutely broke my heart. The par 4 15th has a creek running around 240 from the tee box and I hit two into it. The disappointing thing was I probably averaged 220 off the tee the rest of the day, but was able to find this creek...twice. Overall, I feel my game is close. My ball striking was decent with irons and my putting and chipping saved me today. The course was nice, it was a bit rainy today. The bottom picture is a 100 yard par 3 that I lost two tee shots on. One was pushed right and the other pulled left. Tom the Golf Nut, GolfSpy BOS, CarlH and 12 others

The nines are certainly different from each other if I remember correctly. The back nine certainly would take playing a few times to figure out what club to hit on a few holes. It was in nice shape and I did enjoy it. sirchunksalot, cksurfdude, BKordon and 5 others 8 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

I don’t know what would be worse, actually hitting into you, or needing to walk another hundred yards back from the tee to get my ball after it sails over my head. getting hit into is one thing. it happens. it’s usually a mistake and gets followed up quickly by an apology. his post made it out to seem like it was happening all day long. that’s a different story and gets treated differently in return. Gotta make choices The 9 hole dog track where I used to play here in Washington had Crabgrass!! The Pro called it bermuda. M. Popular Post CarlH
Had to cancel my usual Wednesday round today. AC went out, dog was puking, wife was sleep deprived. Did get the AC fixed and it's a good thing since we hit about 93 before the AC was working again (bad capacitor). House only got to 84 inside and is now 80 and dropping with 64 degree at the vents. 95 outside. Didn't really mind not playing in that! M. My iron play has been like the stock market lately, up and down. The only thing saving me is my putter and just recently picking up a Taylormade Sim2 driver with a Fujikura Motore X F3 shaft I've picked up a good 20+ yards and longest being in the 260 range, the shaft does really make a difference, HA! Who knew. I had the same issue Sunday...for the last year or so my driver has been hit or miss but my irons, especially my short irons, have been so consistent...but Sunday I striped the ball of the tee...12/14 fairways and one of those misses was hit through a dogleg. but my irons sucked...I hit so many thin or topped shots...Hell, I topped a 9iron into a ravine (I hardly ever hit bad shots with 9 iron or below) thank goodness my chipping game was working and my putter was on fire or my score would have been bad!
