Yeah based on the story I would have been pissed too.

two weeks ago a guy sent a hosel rocket piss missile of a wedge straight at @Lacassem, myself, and our two boys. The tee box is probably 25ish yards in the shank direction of the green so it’s not surprising... but he was profusely apologetic and made sure everyone was ok.

yikes! scary stuff especially with the kids out there. sounds like he handled it the right way though.

Yes he did. We had to explain to the kids after what the “fore” meant and what to do. Luckily was closer to us then the boys.

Guy was good, thank God boys don’t need to see me getting mouthy

I played Bridger Creek in Bozeman this morning.  Absolutely stellar weather and with the recent weeks worth of rain/snow, the vegetation was popping and the grass as green as it can be.  On #1 tee (adjacent to Bridger Creek), we heard some crunching and rustling then a cinnamon brown bear (technically sub specie of black bear) trotting past the 18th green (opposite side of creek) and running down the fairway.  No one could grab their phones quick enough to get a picture.

Great driving day and so so short game.  40/45 with two lateral hazard strokes and an OB while choosing the "safe" shot, 3w, on #5 😐.  Played that shot my last round there and hit it perfect - tried to put that image in my mind - try being the operative word. Hit perhaps my  best ever drive on #10 and followed the 118 yard uphill approach right into the trap... just one of those days.

Stone Creek is the only course in the Portland area (prior to the 9 holes with @rbsiedsc at Redtail) that I have played; OGA being the only other one that's close.  The nines are certainly different from each other if I remember correctly.  The back nine certainly would take playing a few times to figure out what club to hit on a few holes.  It was in nice shape and I did enjoy it.

Yep, I prefer the front for sure, it's like two separate courses. But for the price it's such a great course.  You'll need to make it down for another round!

Played this morning with @rbsiedsc at Stone Creek in Oregon City.... Course was is in primo condition, firm and fast, and wearther here in the PNW is perfect.  I shot an 87 but it felt much better. Had a lot putts that could have gone in on another day.  Either way it was a great first time outting with another spy!

I’ve played that track more than once. Good layout but typically packed. My wife grew up in Molalla. I like it better than Langdon Farms. Great to see fellow spies get together.

Was a great time for sure. I shot an ugly 109. Was keeping pace the first four holes and then had a blow up. Also 8 three putts, ugh. Had a super awesome bird on a par 5. Great drive.  Then super hybrid to 60 out on a hill. Then 6 iron bump and run to 10 ft.

Greens were certainly fast and as we learned on 15, all greens break toward hole number 12. Great to know for next time. Course was stunning for a muni. Better than some semi privates I’ve played.

Sadly this round we had a group behind us always hitting into us. On 17, I was playing my 3rd and I got hit in the back ( on the bounce) from one of them in the group on their drive. I was not pleased and let the clubhouse know. I should have tossed his ball in the lake, but this is a gentleman’s game.

I agree with the gentleman part but firing one back at them typically gets the point across. 😳

I’ve played Stone Creek a few times and always found that the shop pushed out as many groups as they could. From what I remember, there are a handful of holes that can cause congestion too.

Played in a work fundraising scramble yesterday with a co-worker and two of our vendors. I was really happy with the way I hit the ball, and we used the majority of my shots. I think we ended up -3 which is near the bottom middle of the pack as usual in this outing. Some teams get pretty stacked and finish almost -20.

The outing was a long day, basically 11 AM-7 PM with warm-up, lunch, golf and drinks afterward. I wasn't sure how this morning's round would go as a result, but my good ball striking carried over well.

- 39/39 = 78 (+6)
- 6/15 FIR
- 8/18 GIR
- 31 Putts (14 2-putts, 3 1-putts, 1 chip-in par save)

It was very foggy for the first 14 holes which made aiming and following tee shots quite an adventure. Had three birdie putts and three par putts run over edges and had another birdie attempt finish about a roll short. Just a few inches over all 18 holes could have made a huge difference! Gorgeous morning for golf.

Thanks. What's funny is that picture makes it look like you could actually see out beyond the tee box, which was not the case! On several holes I basically would hit the ball, try to judge what direction it was going based on the feel of the swing and then carefully listen to hear if I hit a tree. I actually had to walk up almost to the greens on the par 3s because I couldn't see the hole location from the tee.

This particular hole I must have hit a slightly cut hybrid because I found it sitting nicely on the right side of the fairway around the dogleg.

It's funny you mention this CK, I didn't post from my round this weekend, but I bounced back with an 80. Had a putt for 79 on the last to break 80 in a round for the first time in like 15 rounds, Everything went right except the ball OB on the 2nd handicap hole, but I made a 5 on the hole anyway by believing in myself. Things are going well, looks like I might be playing on Sunday morning in 90 degree heat. Going for it in a big way!

Played one of my favorite courses in the area - The Fort Golf Course, and did something that I usually do not do at this course.  Played the tips, which played long in the mist this morning and play 7150 yards as is with a course rating of 75.  Luckily I was driving the ball well, but just put myself in a couple bad positions from the middle of the fairway.

Also, could not get a chip/pitch shot inside 10 feet and my putting was atrocious.  Feel was bad all day and the short game really let me down.  Turned in an 84, which was the highest score I could have gotten today I think.  Some mediocre putting and chipping could have shaved several off of that and I likely would have broken 80.

Heading to Hilton Head for a week and get to pay a couple rounds while there.  Looking forward to a vacation with the family and hoping for some nice weather.

Played my 2nd of 3 match play rounds yesterday at my home course. Had to win to keep the hopes alive of advancing out of the first stage. Great match, back and forth. Both of us sank our birdie putts of 25+ feet on 17 to make things interesting on 18. We both par to allow me to win the match 1 up.

I played well today. Shot an 81 - 40/41. That included a triple and 2 birdies. I had 10 GIRs which is always nice. Need to work on the FIRs as I only hit 4/14. Beautiful day outside of a summer shower dropping on us on 18.
