Popular Post fixyurdivot
I played Bridger Creek in Bozeman this morning. Absolutely stellar weather and with the recent weeks worth of rain/snow, the vegetation was popping and the grass as green as it can be. On #1 tee (adjacent to Bridger Creek), we heard some crunching and rustling then a cinnamon brown bear (technically sub specie of black bear) trotting past the 18th green (opposite side of creek) and running down the fairway. No one could grab their phones quick enough to get a picture. Great driving day and so so short game. 40/45 with two lateral hazard strokes and an OB while choosing the "safe" shot, 3w, on #5 . Played that shot my last round there and hit it perfect - tried to put that image in my mind - try being the operative word. Hit perhaps my best ever drive on #10 and followed the 118 yard uphill approach right into the trap... just one of those days. Greens were certainly fast and as we learned on 15, all greens break toward hole number 12. Great to know for next time. Course was stunning for a muni. Better than some semi privates I’ve played. Sadly this round we had a group behind us always hitting into us. On 17, I was playing my 3rd and I got hit in the back ( on the bounce) from one of them in the group on their drive. I was not pleased and let the clubhouse know. I should have tossed his ball in the lake, but this is a gentleman’s game. I agree with the gentleman part but firing one back at them typically gets the point across. I’ve played Stone Creek a few times and always found that the shop pushed out as many groups as they could. Popular Post edingc
Played in a work fundraising scramble yesterday with a co-worker and two of our vendors. I was really happy with the way I hit the ball, and we used the majority of my shots. I think we ended up -3 which is near the bottom middle of the pack as usual in this outing. Some teams get pretty stacked and finish almost -20. The outing was a long day, basically 11 AM-7 PM with warm-up, lunch, golf and drinks afterward. I wasn't sure how this morning's round would go as a result, but my good ball striking carried over well. - 39/39 = 78 (+6) - 6/15 FIR - 8/18 GIR - 31 Putts (14 2-putts, 3 1-putts, 1 chip-in par save) It was very foggy for the first 14 holes which made aiming and following tee shots quite an adventure. Had three birdie putts and three par putts run over edges and had another birdie attempt finish about a roll short. Just a few inches over all 18 holes could have made a huge difference! What's funny is that picture makes it look like you could actually see out beyond the tee box, which was not the case! On several holes I basically would hit the ball, try to judge what direction it was going based on the feel of the swing and then carefully listen to hear if I hit a tree. I actually had to walk up almost to the greens on the par 3s because I couldn't see the hole location from the tee. This particular hole I must have hit a slightly cut hybrid because I found it sitting nicely on the right side of the fairway around the dogleg. cnosil, BKordon, M. Had a putt for 79 on the last to break 80 in a round for the first time in like 15 rounds, Everything went right except the ball OB on the 2nd handicap hole, but I made a 5 on the hole anyway by believing in myself. Things are going well, looks like I might be playing on Sunday morning in 90 degree heat. Popular Post PankaGolf
Didn’t keep score. Didn’t care but played Moray Old Course today and it was a very special evening. Course is spectacular and should never be driven past. twyatt700, bens197, MaxEntropy and 10 others 8 5 Quote "C'mon be good"
Popular Post PMookie
Played the Ole Miss Golf Course in Oxford, MS. Shot 79 (42/37). The greens had just been punched so putts bounced all over the place. Popular Post GolfSpy_SHARK
Had a great evening round with my cousin at the course he works at. Had a 2v2 with him against the pro and one of his grounds crew employee. was a really fun round and the employee is a freshman in college and just has some really incredible skills. He started off poorly and was waiting for the crumble but he just never got down and we ended up halving the match on 9 after he eagled the par 5 8th hole. Was impressive. I played well. Nothing stellar but just had a really solid round top to bottom besides the 8th hole where I tried to really get after the driver and ended up taking a penalty off the tee. Putting was just really solid today. Lots of long putts as I couldn’t figure out the wind and was short or long on several holes. I had several 50’ers that I was able to get within 2’ for tap ins. overall just had a really fun round. Always enjoy playing with my cousin. cnosil, StrokerAce, cksurfdude and 9 others 12 Quote Check out my reviews: G710 Irons Official Review I MC Shaft & V Series Putter Official Review 2022 Forged Tec's Official Review I Nitron Push Cart Official Review WITB: Weapons of grass destruction (link to WITB) Traverse is filled with all this shiny metal and tracked by RadSpeed 8* - MotoreX F1 6X SIM 3W - Project X HZRDUS Green U505 Driving Iron 17* - Project X HZRDUS Black SpeedZone 4H - Project X HZRDUS Black 2022 King Forged Tec's 4-PW - KBS $ Tape 130 48 (SM8), 52 & 60 (SM7) - Nippon Modus 125 S ER2VI PROV1X #19 Are you a veteran? juspoole
Played one of my favorite courses in the area - The Fort Golf Course, and did something that I usually do not do at this course. Played the tips, which played long in the mist this morning and play 7150 yards as is with a course rating of 75. Luckily I was driving the ball well, but just put myself in a couple bad positions from the middle of the fairway. Also, could not get a chip/pitch shot inside 10 feet and my putting was atrocious. Feel was bad all day and the short game really let me down. Turned in an 84, which was the highest score I could have gotten today I think. Some mediocre putting and chipping could have shaved several off of that and I likely would have broken 80. Heading to Hilton Head for a week and get to pay a couple rounds while there. Looking forward to a vacation with the family and hoping for some nice weather. ejgaudette, MaxEntropy, Kenny B and 6 others 9 Quote Driver: Mavrik Sub Zero 9* (Set to 10) Ventus Blue 6X 2 Hybrid: TSI3 Hybrid Tensei Blue 80 X (17.25*) 3 Hybrid 818 H2 Hybrid Hzrdus RDX Black 6.5 (20.5*) 4 Iron - T200 4 Iron Graphite Design Tour AD IZ X Hybrid Shaft Irons 5-PW: T100-S 5 - GW KBS Tour 130 X Gap/Sand Wedge: Vokey SM6 49* SM8 54* Lob Wedge: Jaws 5 Wedge 58* DG Tour Issue Stiff Putter: Phantom 5.5 34" Pro Platinum Newport 2 35" Taylormade Tour Black Spider 34"
Mtbryant01
Played my 2nd of 3 match play rounds yesterday at my home course. Had to win to keep the hopes alive of advancing out of the first stage. Great match, back and forth. Both of us sank our birdie putts of 25+ feet on 17 to make things interesting on 18. We both par to allow me to win the match 1 up. I played well today. Shot an 81 - 40/41. That included a triple and 2 birdies. I had 10 GIRs which is always nice. Need to work on the FIRs as I only hit 4/14. Beautiful day outside of a summer shower dropping on us on 18.
