Popular Post Berg Ryman
Subbed for the league end tournament in my old golf league, 2 ball best ball with handicap. Popular Post Rickp
No play Monday but a new to me Exec Tuesday that was loong. Used this again as practice for Wednesday Big Boy group. No clue what I shot working on ball flight to carry over to Wednesday 9 holes. Wednesday greens were a disappointment. They were punched & sanded 2 weeks ago and haven’t healed well, very bumpy & SAND. Driver was working very well, hit 7 of 7 fareways, Par 3’s hit 1 of 2 greens. Irons were equally working well unfortunately putting was non existent due to condition of the greens. Too bad, hate to waste a day when I actually found the face of the club! DiscipleofPenick
37/41 back at home today. 3 birdies on the front, too many missed shots. But since I looked at my stats, my GIR is improving. Syks7
I decided to throw all caution to the wind with my finger recovery and played in my first tournament today. It was a tale of three six hole groups of scoring.... Six excellent holes with 5 pars and a birdie, Six bogie holes, and Six holes so bad I ended up with a 93... I actually think that will net down for handicap purposes when it gets posted there's several of those bad holes where I'm definitely north of net double bogie. As is usually the case my blow up holes involved chipping, sand along with a few bad breaks. Two things I'm working very hard on, but that the condition of LA municipal golf makes difficult to do well. I hit a lot of really great shots and putted really well short approach just failed me miserably. 16 strokes inside 50 yards. Still though I had a great time. The only negative was that the guy I caught one of the guys I was paired with cheating on a couple holes. First he tried to take free relief on what was really an unplayable. Then he stopped a short put he missed while it was still in motion. WTF. I made him count those strokes before I would sign the card, but who knows how many other strokes the dude shaved wile we were playing. I just don't get that BS. We aren't pros, are you really going to sell your integrity in the hopes of winning your entry fee back? I'm definitely going to request not being paired with that guy in the future. Anyway here's my shot of the day from 105 -- and I holed the birdie putt. cksurfdude, GolfSpy_SHARK, Jonny_Crash and 6 others 9 Quote Driver 0811XT -- Tensei CK Orange 60 Woods 0211 3W -- Tensei AV Raw Blue Hybrids 0317X 2&4 -- Tensei AV Raw Blue Irons ZX7 4/AW -- C-Taper Lite 110 Wedges RTX Zipcore 56 Mid @55° -- TT DG Spinner Putter DF2.1 or Link.1 -- Accra Ball Zstar Diamond

MattF
What an afternoon. Shot an 86 but a really weird way of getting it. Puked a 12 over 47 on the front and a 4 over 39 on the back. 71% FIR. I think just stepping up and hitting the driver worked on the back, opposed to trying to hit to a target line on the front. cjeffs12
I played a round with my buddies after work yesterday, and I had a lot of positives. I shot an 84 with 3 penalties, but my ball striking keeps improving, and this was the best my swing has felt since the changes. My driver and putter was on beast mode, and I had a personal best 8 one putts with a total of 29 putts. I need to play the par 5's better, and fewer drop shots. Also, I played the Pro V1x, and I was really fighting too much spin, so some really good iron shots came up short of green, but I have been trying the TP5x and really liked it. I also have a dozen Pro V1 Left Dot that I will try as well. I just need to use the V1x first. I will go to the range to see if I can keep building while it's hot. Popular Post Jonny_Crash
Played 9 with some folks from work this morning. Best round of the summer for me. I was +2 through 5 and ended up with a 46. That's a good score for me, but it should have been a bunch lower. It was really only three holes that cost me 8 strokes (two triples and a double). I hit 6 GIR, 5 fairways and for the second consecutive round I didn't lose a ball. They had just punched the greens (tuesday) so putting was a bit of guessing game. I had two 3 putts and one four putt. The biggest area of complaint was the short game. I bladed a couple and generally wasn't landing things where I planned. Overall, very happy with the round. Beautiful morning as well! KurtActual
Shot one of my worst recorded rounds. Raven Nest in Huntsville, TX is the home to the Sam Houston State University Bearkat Golf Team. (My alma mater) They have done some serious turf work on the greens, and they're a wreck currently. Pretty disappointed the Pro Shop didnt mentionn it when I paid for my tee time. On top of the patchwork greens, they also sanded them 40 min before I tee'd off. If only I could blame my triple digit score on the greens... maybe I'd have 8 more balls in my golf bag than I do now. It was nice to get out and walk 18 in Texas without dying though. fozcycle
After being rained out both Tiesday(11 holes) and Thursday (15 holes), we had an overcast day with no rain. My best round since moving my membership from Pebble Creek(R.I.P.) to Plantation Palms, I shot a 41/43:84 today with an Eagle on the Par 5 #9, followed by a birdie on Par 4 #15. The Eagle came from a good drive, followed by a setup 5 wood, then a 63 yard 58* shot that landed just right of the pin then rolled around and down into the hole for the Eagle. Also of importance was a Hole in One by one of the other players(we had 36 today) which was celebrated in the Pub. My strokes gained was impressive today as compared to other 15 hcaps. null
First round (and first time swinging a club) in 3 weeks due local courses aerating, rains, flooding and me having a hell of a cold Decided to take my usual set out and not use Arccos. Played surprisingly well given that I had some rust to knock off Shot +6 78 with two double bogeys from lost balls off the tee. Other than those two swing I played really well. Struck my irons about as good as I ever have. The workout program and swing speed training I’ve been doing has given me about a half a club more distance with the irons which was great to see. Burned a bunch of lips on some short birdie putts but did get two to fall MattF, ejgaudette, JerryB and 5 others

fixyurdivot
Played Beaverhead in Dillon today... just gorgeous weather compared to the smoke we've had pretty much since early July. 40/43 and 45/41 playing 2 ball... today a Z-star vs. a yellow CS. I must say that I really liked the feel of the Z-star but no clear winner. I had to fight off my tendency not to release my hands at impact; which tends to cause me short and right results. I also don't want to exaggerate that and start getting "flippy". I was a bit off with the driver today, more pulls than I've had recently, leaving me to scramble around and over trees. But those are good practice and fun to tackle, so what the hell... FIR's are overrated . The ZX5's/MMT shafts continue to feel really good. Compared to the G410's, flush shots almost feel like nothing coming off the face... if that makes sense? I've been watching my strike locations on all shots and really like what I'm seeing. I was quite often toe side on the G410's and the ZX5's are really close to dead center, a whisker low. I wonder if it the +1/2 vs. +1 shaft length? PMookie
74 (40/34), birdied three of the last 5 holes. Finally hit some greens today, but struggled hitting a “top spin cross court forehand” with driver for awhile. That’s my big miss and it’s SO hard to get rid of mid round. Played the Cobra F9 Speedback today. I like the feel of it a LOT more than the Max LS. fixyurdivot, GolfSpy_SHARK, cksurfdude and 5 others 8 Quote Driver: Ping G430 Max 9*, Ping Tour 70X Fairway: Ping G425 15*, Ping Tour 70X Hybrid: Ping G425 22*, Ping Tour 80X Irons: Ping i230 4-GW, TT DG X100 Wedges: SMS 50D/54V/58DModus 130 stiff, +1” Putter: EAS 1.0 Ball: Titleist 2023 AVX
Jmikecpa
Slapped it around for a 74 today in Va. on a funny note I played my last 12 holes with an older Asian couple that kept calling me Godzilla after every tee shot. Getting more used to the mew irons and the ball flight that is a bit higher than the PXGs. Best news is no pain in my elbow so I can play again tomorrow with no issues.
