My putting has been inconsistent. Left the flagstick mostly all season for putting. Now reflecting back I think it’s really speed up play so it serves it purpose. 
Overall I think it helped my putting   The short ones 3,4 5 footers  I feel like more confident.  Can’t explain it other than like me putting to a table leg at home. It’s just an addition target 

longer putts I don’t think it makes any difference to my score. I haven’t done the stats but generally feel I should be aim at a cup not a pin for longer putts   I could be wrong but I think there is stats that says if there significant downhill break the pin does help.

I wish I could bottle up fall golf season and play in this weather all year.

Dropped off my daughter at school and walked 9 on an empty course.  45 minutes later I was 2 over after hitting 7 greens.  Good driving, good putting, nothing great but man it was a nice stroll.

Except for those specific stats, you just described my golf here in MT most of the year.  I walked 27 holes, playing 2 balls, in just under 4 hours.  And, that included about 20 minutes worth of lost ball rescues.  I agree with bottling up fall golf weather - love playing this time of year.

It's really hard to put into words how much I enjoy this time of year more than any other season.

I'm glad to hear others share the sentiment.  Enjoy what's left of this nice fall.

Very frustrated with my current fall golf. Hopefully can bail out a few times over the next couple weeks during lunch and get 18 in. Thats the plan right now anyway.....

Played yesterday in great weather but was struggling with enjoying the walk because I was putting so poorly. By the time I got to 18, I realized that golf is a humbling endeavor and if you get too married to what you shot, you're eventually going to go crazy. At least, that is how I think I will be. I am striking the ball about as well as I ever have (avg carry with a driver is up from 245 to 260, hit between 11-14 GIR per round) and I should think of that as a positive rather than focus on how I am "wasting it" by not being able to make many 5-10 footers all of the sudden. 

Ultimately, I have neglected my putting practice because my putting had been pretty good as of late and, wouldn't you know it, my putting started slipping. Hard to justify getting upset about poor putting if you are not practicing putting, right? 

Final thought is the a recurring realization which is that it is very rare that my game is firing on all cylinders (driving, iron play, wedges, chipping, putting). But I am encouraged by the fact that through lessons I can usually diagnose (if not always fix) the problem. Trying to enjoy the process and not get too wrapped up in results.

Golf indeed is a humbling pastime.  The last few round I have played better than I ever have, and last Sunday was my lowest score EVER!  I just know that, sooner or later, I will not play so well again.

Played a Par 3 Exec this morning with most of the Bacon Boyz.  First time in a week.  Needed a break with knee and elbow trying to see which could deliver more pain, knee clear winner!

Backswing is a little shorter than I normally have to try and keep everything simple and elbow pain free.  Bogie 1st 2 holes followed by 4 straight Pars. Then a ball died a watery demise for a Bogie and finished with Pars.

I was happy with ball flight and distance even with a modified swing.  Ready for Big Boy course next week!

I had off since last Thursday and went tovisit my dad for his 90th birthday. We threw him a great party. The 13 hour drive home yesterday sucked, but the trip was worth it. 

No Internet at his place and barely cell service. Had some MGS withdrawals. 

So still having today off I got a round in before going back to work tomorrow. I played well no bogies and back to back birdies on back to back par 5's. Shot a 69.  34 on the front and 35 on the back. 

Greens were a little slower today. Il have to see if they are keeping them a little longer for fall.

I'm glad to hear you had a safe trip, that's a long drive but getting to celebrate your dad's birthday is cool. 

It's good to hear you had a good round today after spending all that time in the car. I would be locked up and hardly moving after a drive like that.

Played in a scramble Monday that supports former U of AL players in need and provides athletic scholarships as well. Got to play at The Ledges club in Huntsville, AL. One of the prettiest courses I’ve ever seen and played. Scramble was pretty straightforward, everyone was allowed one mulligan but that’s it. No throws, strings, or gimmicks. Course was in immaculate shape with great views. 
 

I drove it very well besides the first two holes (borrowed @Mtbryant01 Cobra driver, it’s legit). Approaches were off and made two long putts but had a couple not great efforts putting too. Team score was 62 and had a great day all around. RTR!!

Love fall golf: my wife shot her all time low of 87 Sunday, and I was no slouch myself! I took a bogey on 18 for a tidy score of 1 over on the day. Short game was on point all day including going 7/7 on up & down opportunities. Followed that up with a roller coaster round of +2 that included 2 doubles and bogey against 3 birdies. Why does it always take all season to score well? And then it snowed here today…

I had a blast! Beautiful course overlooking the city of Huntsville. If only we could have putted a little better, we might have caught that 54

One of my better full rounds of the year.  Didn't feel like I played overly well to be honest, but didn't make any glaring mistakes.  I did have a couple 3 putts, but the greens were just punched so distance control was a bit difficult.

Course played a little long today as it was very wet all over the course.  I did not think we had gotten that much rain recently so I was a bit surprised by this.  Hoping I can get more rounds in this year, but it was nice to come out and play well after a few weeks layoff.  Putted well and made a 25 and 30 foot birdie putt as well as several just slide by and nearly go in. 

Score: 74 (4 biridies and no doubles)

FIR - 3

GIR - 11 (2 additional on fringe and putted)

Putts - 32

Took the day off, as it may be the last really nice day of the year, mid 70s and sunny. Shot a 78 at home, swing felt great and putted well. 1 bird, 1 double. There's still a lot of golf left as is usually nice enough into early December now, but it'll be in the 50s & 60s the rest of the way.

The only question is, will this still be my home course next year.

Played yesterday to get some stuff off of my mind. I ended up shooting an 84. Definitely my worst putting round of the year. Couldn't seem to get the pace right all day I had some good shots, and some absolutely terrible shots. Ended up with three penalty shots. Lets just say my head wasn't in it for the back nine. Always nice to get out and to exist with grass, the ball (s), and my sticks.

Haven't posted in awhile as my right shoulder partial tear(auto accident) has not been good to my game.  Today I posted a 41/45:86 at Plantation Palms, with FIR: 8/14 71% GIR: 2/18 17% Putts: 29 with 7 one putts and a 40% Up & Down.

Last week, I played in a 9 hole shootout at Heritage Isles, posting a 38 with 3 birdies.  I took first place, 3 skins and a Closest to the Pin.....winnings: $73!

Learning to play with the limited range of motion for my right shoulder and the 3 bulging discs in my lower back.

Hopefully, this will carry over to the weekend for our Fall Two Day Blitz.
