Another great day on the course and missed 3 makable birdie putts inside 8 feet with these slightly bumpy, aerated greens that are still a week or two away from being back to normal. They are re-leveling 4 tee boxes and I got to tee off on the senior tees for the 2 Eagles at 472 and 476 but still had to hit an accurate 4hy and 5 iron and make the putts. ... I kept track of GIR's and what club I used today. Hot streak indeed because I hit 12 GIR's and that is just not the norm as I am probably around 7-10 and some days 5 or 6 or less when I am struggling. I missed greens with pw, 5, 5, gw, 7, 6 irons. The pw I went after a ball left open and caught the fringe but still rolled down the slope and my only bogie of the day from 132. Then on severe downslope I caught my Gw fat leaving a 62yd Lw I stuck to 3 feet. On #6 I hit the pin dead solid with my Gw from 117 and instead of a tap in I had a 15 footer that somehow found the cup so some karma justice. ParFore74x
So so so close. New PR with a 46/44, 90 this morning with four doubles and four pars. Analyzing the round in my head trying to figure out if there was that one shot that I could have saved. There were actually a few. Only hit one green in regulation which left quite a few chips but several of those chips were close to the hole which resulted in 6 one putts and no three putts for a total of 30 putts. Truth be told, I was feeling decent. Tee shots weren’t great for the most part but recovery shots helped a lot. I might just need to go to the range and work on just tee shots. I’m not usually one to hit just driver and 3W at the range but, it might need to be done. Vegan_Golfer_PNW
Played the back nine of my home course. Only second time this year. Shot a 53. Tried to play smart but things just happened. My chipping was off due to green speed. Looking forward to my aids to come in. Driver was super hooky until it wasn’t on one of the par 5s. Despite three three putts putting wasn’t bad. Those three putts were focus issues or I just hit the putt too far and it caught a slope (like 16 where if there was no slope woulda been a 3 ft comebacker). Learned a lot this round and look forward to getting out again. Had a super awesome chance at birdie on 11 a down hill par 3. 18 was a driver to tree barely past the white tees and then a piecemeal to the hole from downhill and uphill lies. cksurfdude, ParFore74x, edingc and 4 others 7 Quote Follow my journey to enjoying golf and going low Driver: Epic Max LS Ventus Black 6x 44.5" 3wHL: Rogue ST LS 75x Tensei AV Blue w/ xlink 7w: Apex UW 21* MMT 80S DI: Caley 01X 18* with KBS PGH Stiff plus 95g 4-AW: 0211 with KBS Tour Stiff 2.5* up 3/4" long, Soft stepped, MOI matched Wedges Zipcore Putter: L.A.B. chisag
... Well I put my hot streak on the back burner yesterday. Played the #1 rated public course in AZ for the first time. We Ko Pa Saguaro that just reopened after being closed for 2 weeks after aerating and they were slow and just a little bumpy. Definitely a course you need to play a few times as there were lots of semi blind tee shots and approached where you could not see the landing area and the greens have a lot of undulations. Spectacular views so there was that but I shot a 76 with 1 birdie and 5 bogies. Long 1 hr drive to get there and never fully loosened up and wish I could come up with more excuses. JerryB
Woof. 53/60 for a 113 (+41). Owen and I decided last minute to play 18 today. Most places in the area were booked but we hit Marengo Ridge. Weather was hot and humid. I was an absolute mess. Driver started decent but quickly turned into a weak draw that went nowhere. Wound up pulling 3 wood off the tee for the last few holes to marginally better results. Woods and hybrids were chunk city. Irons were chunky and/or pulled left. Wedges and putter were hit-or-miss which is not bad for me. Had my only par on 17 and followed that up with a 10 on the par five 18th. Owen shot a respectable 87 and as always the food in the clubhouse was terrific. tony@CIC, Vegan_Golfer_PNW, ParFore74x and 4 others 7 Quote Cobra Aerojet Max driver Cobra Aerojet Max 3 wood and 7 wood Cobra Aerojet 4/5/6 hybrids Cobra Aerojet 7-PW, GW Cobra Snakebite 52° and 58° wedges Cobra King Stingray 20 putter

Alf. S
82 on Saturday medal, still struggling with good scores dropping off my WHS handicap being replaced by mediocre ones. Good day on the greens didn't really miss much. Now using the putt visualisation technique on most putts and trying to forget about the mechanics and it worked on Saturday. Still windy and dry on the course so GIR are a real struggle. But driving was what caused the real damage , OB at 9 and 17 and pull left into woods on 4, accounts for +6 on the card. And the stats show only 2 from 14 fairways hit. RollingGreens
Playing ok as of lately. Things are either really good or bad not too much in between. Scoring all over the place and it doesn’t feel like a huge difference shooting low 80s to low 90s outside of an extra putt or two. Really having a hard time scoring in the front 9 of my course which is the easier side. Yesterday I went 46/41. No penalties on the front. Maybe one bad tee shot that cost me. Just not playing smart golf. Really should use a shorter iron or putter from the front lately. Plus my iron shots are either spot on or missing by a mile. Popular Post cnosil
Played both Saturday and Sunday and was pretty happy with how I played. I think Saturday was 78 and 79 on Sunday. Putting was good with 7 birdies over the 2 round, tee shots were good and I only got myself in trouble a couple of times with a few lost balls, hit my irons and hybrids really well. Short game had its up and downs and I’d say cost me quite a few shots. Gotta figure out how to take the short game from the practice area to the course and be a bit more consistent. Gonna put some 95-105 gram graphite shafts in the wedges to see if that helps out based on some feedback that I got this weekend. Popular Post Alf. S
We have the equivalent of the Bermuda Triangle or Twilight Zone at our course, let me try to describe it. The 2nd and 16th run parallel to each other, the 2nd running south to north and the 16th north to south. The 2nd can be a card wrecker it is a narrow fairway that cambers left to right with a steep bank of knee high grass and undergrowth on the right and a steep bank running off to the 16th fairway on the left. To compound this the prevailing wind is left to right. For most golfers who hit it left to right the drive is to aim for the left side of the fairway and look for a cut or wind to bring it back to the fairway. Too far left and you hit the bank on the left and the ball heads on the 16th fairway out of sight. This mysterious Twilight Zone resides on the 16th Fairway about 200yds off the 16th tee and 240 - 260 yds off the 2nd tee. Balls hit off the 2nd just disappear or they miraculously change manufacturer and number (normally changing from Pro V1 to Top Flite). Balls have been known to lie in the fairway for hours unclaimed by the discerning golfer, identified and left with a shrug. Normally these mysterious incidents happen when the mystical Sages of the club are playing the 16th. These old, weathered Sages usual travel around in 4s and come out between 9am to 1pm every weekday to do their ritual course worshipping. They can normally seen scampering off into the distance after one of these incidents and if challenged they will impart some of their knowledge, abridge with some Scottish adjectives and nouns. "I never took your ball, bleep off you bleep" My Callaway turned into a Top Flite today at the 2nd There are also know for their pearls of wisdom and 100% hindsight if you play with one of these Sages. No matter your age after you play a bad shot they can be heard saying "Aye son, I don't think you want to do that" Better day with driver and approach shots today, changed my setup and now hitting the ball a lot better and consistent. Putter setup was a bit iffy on the front 9 missing 3 from inside 4 feet but sorted this out on the back 9. Edited August 10, 2022 by Alf. It seems that it’s either a great shot or terrible and in the worst spot to miss in Sounds like we need to get out and work on course management cksurfdude 1 Quote Take Dead Aim Driver: PXG 0211 10.5* Fairway: Titleist 917 F3 15* Hybrid: Adams Idea Pro Boxer Gold 18* Irons: MacGregor MT-86 Pro Wedges: Vokey 50/54/58 Putter: SeeMore X2 Costa del Mar Ball: Srixon Z-Star
Popular Post GolfSpy_SHARK
Had a fun tournament last Friday. Was a good time, met a few guys from one of my vendors we use for roof repairs. great cause all the money went to the fisher house, we’ll worth the money. course was decent and was 3 of us so we had a lot of extra shots, split them up nicely between the 3 of us. tee game was meh, but was smoking the 3W off the deck and my irons were A+ again. Started draining putts on the back. we went -8 with 3 yes read it correctly, 3 bogeys on the front (started on 2) woooooof we joked around that we just needed to warm up. this hole was great, my only decent drive of the day and I hit this monster draw 3 wood, hit the front of the green and bounced off pin high. sirchunksalot, Hobert, JerryB and 11 others 12 2 Quote Check out my reviews: G710 Irons Official Review I MC Shaft & V Series Putter Official Review 2022 Forged Tec's Official Review I Nitron Push Cart Official Review WITB: Weapons of grass destruction (link to WITB) Traverse is filled with all this shiny metal and tracked by RadSpeed 8* - MotoreX F1 6X SIM 3W - Project X HZRDUS Green U505 Driving Iron 17* - Project X HZRDUS Black SpeedZone 4H - Project X HZRDUS Black 2022 King Forged Tec's 4-PW - KBS $ Tape 130 48 (SM8), 52 & 60 (SM7) - Nippon Modus 125 S ER2VI PROV1X #19 Are you a veteran? Sluggo42
Had my 3rd consecutive good round. +2 today, with a stupid bogie on 18 (par 5) from 10’ off in 2 after a crushed drive and 3-wood. putted instead of a chip and caught it heavy- then blasted the next one 15’ by the cup- dumb… butttt, the new driving move has been working well for about 3 weeks, and I tell ya what, consistently shorter second shots make for lower scores sirchunksalot, MaxEntropy, Kenny B and 6 others 9 Quote TSr2 on tensi blue stiff Speedzone 3-wood on Tensi blue S Epic Max 5 and 7 woods on HZRDUS Reg flex Paradym 9 wood on HZRDUS reg flex P770 / P790 combo set on Ventus R-6 shafts 6-AW T22 Denim Copper 54°, 58° on Kinetic X Trajectory ER3 or, E.A.S. #4 (“Fang” or “Adele”) ProV1x, or, Maxfli Tour X .Org 14 cart bag Adidas Tour 360 , or Sketcher shoes
gavinski91
Got out for a quick 9 on Saturday afternoon, was struggling with dispersion off the tee (too many penalties and balls out of position) but managed to get 2 birdies to salvage the round and score a 43. Funniest one was probably hole 4, where I topped my driver off the tee and it rolled out 150 yards, and somehow managed to go 3w > Gap wedge to 1 feet for an easy bird. I got paired up with another twosome, a guy and his 15-year-old son. I feel very old saying this, but man, I wish I could swing as fast at that kid! He only hit driver once, and it was a 316-yard bomb right down the middle. If he can get his short game and putting figured out he'll be in a pretty good spot!
