MaxEntropy 8,219
Got out with @DiscipleofPenick today. Course was in pretty good shape and drier than my league course. Still some plugged balls and little roll, but decent. Hard part was the wind: 18-25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. I ended up with a +15 86 after 40/46. Back 9 is a little longer and irons were too fat too often. An example of what happened because of the wind: Driver, 4h and still a little short on a 360 yard hole. Unfortunately, there were not a lot of holes downwind. 6 Quote Driver: Epic Speed 9* (set -1) Mitsubishi MMT 70X 3W: Tour B JGR 15* Recoil 460ES 3H, 4H: Tour B JGR 19*, 23* Recoil 780ES 4-AW: Tour B JGR HF2 Modus3 Tour 105 SW: Zipcore Black Satin 54* LW: Zipcore Black Satin 58* Putter: Stroke Lab Marxman Bag: BigMax Dri Active Lite Ball: TP5x Pix Pushcart: BigMax iQ+ 2021 Test - Callaway Epic Speed

Popular Post MaxEntropy 8,219
I forgot to add one point - I've now played 54 holes around here this spring and have yet to lose a ball. I'm sure I just jinxed myself, but I'm also 99.9% certain that is a record for me. It has been a rotation of 3 balls, but I might have to retire one before I lose them. This is unfamiliar territory for me! I did lose 3 balls when I played in Hawaii, so it hasn't been a completely clean spring. 10 Quote Driver: Epic Speed 9* (set -1) Mitsubishi MMT 70X 3W: Tour B JGR 15* Recoil 460ES 3H, 4H: Tour B JGR 19*, 23* Recoil 780ES 4-AW: Tour B JGR HF2 Modus3 Tour 105 SW: Zipcore Black Satin 54* LW: Zipcore Black Satin 58* Putter: Stroke Lab Marxman Bag: BigMax Dri Active Lite Ball: TP5x Pix Pushcart: BigMax iQ+ 2021 Test - Callaway Epic Speed

Don't forget the greens were still recovering from aeration too! It was a fun day and great to get out for my first round of the year. Chipping was the only bad spot, but touch was starting to come back as the round went on. Regularly had to go up 2-3 clubs on approach shots. I hit them well, but didn't hit many greens given the wind. Kept my head in it and didn't let the tough conditions frustrate me. I feel really good about the way the season started and looking forward to the next round. 10 Quote Take Dead Aim Driver: PXG 0211 10.5* Fairway: Titleist 917 F3 15* Hybrid: Adams Idea Pro Boxer Gold 18* Irons: Titleist 714CB 4-PW Wedges: Vokey SM5 & SM6 50/54/58 Putter: SeeMore X2 Costa del Mar Ball: Srixon Z-Star
Kenny B 33,500
Rain/Snow mix 40º and 12 mph wind = cancelled tee time. Rain supposed to quit around 5pm and it should be 45º with only 5mph wind; might head out for a late nine. 5 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

Lost a few balls in the fairway due to plugging. We could see where they hit but just couldn't find them because they'd gone deep. So drop in the area and keep going. Ended up carding a 43/39 82 for the first "official" round of the season. Which put my handicap down to a 14 even. You played the Windmill! Did the 18th hole have a clowns mouth too. 34 putts for mini golf is a little high.

Popular Post Rickp 29,486
Friday Bacon Boyz, I played well but not a good morning. We have a guy who had moved to another city and has returned. I had him in our 4some and it wasn’t fun he just takes over every conversation. Not to drag this out but 2 weeks ago I told him to cool it with the political . Obviously he didn’t hear me. Popular Post edingc 12,461
Got out with @ncwoz at the short muni to open my season, finally. Weather was not particularly nice. Mid-to-upper 30s, mostly cloudy, 15 MPH winds with 25 MPH gusts. Some snow at times... Par 65, shot a 79 for a +14. Looked back and in perfect conditions last summer I shot 77. So not bad at all. The course has several par 3s that are long. Two are 220+ yards, and both played directly into the wind today. Hit driver and hybrid well, irons were touch-and-go, putter wasn't too bad. Short game killed me as I didn't have a ton of touch, which is to be expected, plus the wind made everything an adventure. Lots of good to take away from the round and am excited for better weather to get here. 15 Quote Unofficial WHS Handicap: 5.8 / Anti-Cap: 11.1 (Last Updated July 1, 2022) Driver: Callaway Epic Max LS (9°), 45.75", Fujikura Motore X F1 6X | Club Champion Fitting 17° Hybrid: Callaway Super Hybrid, 41.5", Mitsubishi MMT Hybrid 80 TX 21° Hybrid: Callaway Epic Flash, 40", Mitsubishi MMT Hybrid 80 TX 4 Utility: Cobra KING Utility (2020 Model), 38.5", UST Mamiya Recoil 110 F5 5-PW: Ben Hogan PTx Pro, 37" 7 Iron, Aerotech SteelFiber i125cw Stiff | Club Champion Fitting 50°, 54°, 58°: Edel SMS, V Grind, Nippon Modus 125 Wedge| Official Review Thread Putter: L.A.B. JerryB 1,188
My son talked me into playing Sycamore Golf Club late in the afternoon today; 4pm tee time, 50ish but breezy. Once again we played like trash. We called it at the turn; I scored a +20 56 and he didn't keep score but likely was similar. Nearly every hole at Sycamore is a straight par 4. Well maintained but also, well... boring. The rough is always extra shaggy so it's actually a bit of a penalty to miss the fairway, which we did pretty often. On a positive note, Owen pointed out my issue with my irons; I'm basically just rotating and not using my arms at all. Just the opposite of last year where I was all arms and little rotation. My last two iron shots were much better as a result. I wish I could be as observant as he is. Next decent day looks to be next Saturday but I'm sure we'll get a round or two in before then, ha! 6 Quote Callaway Rogue ST Max D driver Tour Edge Exotics 3 wood and Bazooka 7 wood Titleist 21° and Grand Hawk XR3 hybrids Adams Idea 6-PW Titleist Vokey SM7 50° 54° and C3I 65° wedges Ray Cook Silver Ray IV putter
