I say with great confidence that the aceless thread will be valid for me for a long time as only an act of God will cause such a thing as past shots have stopped where the cup had recently been by the traces sometimes visible proving I was late getting my ball to that spot. On the clubhouse being hit, seen the roof being hit and balls ending in the car park but never seen a window hit. Popular Post Peaksy68 5,041
Perfect conditions today, barely a breathe of wind, a very rare occurrence. Best round for quite a while. Started really well, 2 over after 9, 8 pars and a double. Driver was working, perhaps the best round with the driver I’ve ever had. Started the back 9 well, with 2 birdies, one after hitting my approach to 2 feet, then chipped in on the next. After that things went backwards. I’m blaming the appalling cover band at the winery next door that started up when we reached the 12th tee. Double, double, bogey, bogey, bogey, bogey, bogey and a par to finish was a bit disappointing. After my recent lack of golf and poor form pretty happy with how I played. 10 Quote 849 Pro Evenflow Riptide 6.0 F8 3 & 5 Woods Project X Evenflow Blue 6.0 TS2 7 Wood Project X Evenflow Blue 6.0 MP18 MMC - Project X LZ 5.5 Zipcore Wedges 50,54,58 - Project X LZ 5.5 MLA Tour Mallet 33" Z Star Pioneer bag buggy

Popular Post Kenny B 33,424
Played bad... no, that's not it... played really bad; well close enough! My wife and I were called to the tee with another twosome, but when she came out of the clubhouse she said the other twosome "didn't want to play with us". I didn't know that we pissed someone off that bad!! Well, they had no choice because there was a group behind us that was playing in a "qualifier" for something, so they did join us. They were from the wet side of the state and had never played here before. I think they didn't want to play with a "girl". The first hole is a short par 4; took each of them 5 shots to reach the green, then 3 and 4-putted. We each parred. When we got to the #2 tee, they said "You are much better than we are; you better play on ahead of us." We couldn't tee up and get out of there fast enough... saying thank you, and have a great time. I birdied #2, then the wheels came off. Two doubles and a quad later, I was ready to head to the bar. I did barely miss a HIO on #8... My wife is playing the Yellow Ball... she made that putt for birdie, so the pressure was on!! "Just taaap it in." Which I did. My second birdie allowed me to only shoot +7 on the front nine. Not much better on the back nine with another +7 so a round of 86. For some reason the course sped up the greens and chips and putts rolled out much further than they have all year. 10 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

Popular Post blackngold_blood 6,880
38/40 +6 Today Lets start with the bad. 3 doubles and the blasphemous 4 putt. Now that that’s out of the way I managed to hit 7/9 greens on the front(with the 4 putt). Converted 2 birdies. Only hit 4/9(drove the reachable par 4 in 1) on the back but felt like I hit the ball better. 14 Quote What is in my Bag Boy Revolver Driver: PXG Gen2 0811x 10.5* set to small + with a VA Composites Nemesys 55s @ 44.75" Fairway: F85 5 wood with a UST Elements Chrome 7F5 @ 41.5" Irons: Testing the Titleist T200 irons 4-W2 with Project X LZ 5.5 shaft -1/2" and 1* Up Wedge: Titleist SM7 56* with Project X LZ 5.0 shaft Putter: Custom Futura X5 flow neck with a UST Frequency Filtered shaft -1" with a SS wristlock grip

A sweet hit Approach Wedge over the protecting bunker. Pitched about 2 feet from the hole and gently rolled into the hole. Got applause from the clubhouse and the Senior League team were on the 1st tee so they all congratulated me which added to the occasion More than made up for losing the tie 3&2. What made it sweeter is that I've been having problems with my irons and had the shanks up until a little work on the range on Wednesday. Popular Post cnosil 25,270
Haven't played in a few weeks due to vacation and Covid; overall I hit the ball really well and we very happy with how I played. 8 FW, 10 GIR, 32 putts. Missed fairways were just off the fairway with no issues hitting the next shot. Missed greens weren't horrible with none of them being really bad; mostly due to a few fat iron shots. Short game left a bit to be desired and missed a few putts I probably should have made. Only one 3 putt and that was on a 354 yard par 4 that I hit the green with my tee shot and 3 putted for par. I'd assume I hit the cart path but there were no scuffs on the ball so I probably just caught some hardpan and got the right bounce. 41/37:78 - I was 5 over through 7 with a double and 3 bogeys; bogeyed 10 and pared everything else. Hopefully this ball striking continues; I can see my handicap dropping quickly if I can get my finesse and < 100 yard wedges sorted out. 17 Quote Driver: G400 Max 9* w/ KBS Tour Driven Fairway: TS3 15* set to 16.5* w/Project X Hzardous Smoke Hybrids: 816H1 19* set at 18* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype 915H 21* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype Irons: TR20V 5-11 w/Vizard TR20-85 Graphite Wedge: 54-10S 588 58-12 Putter: Auditions ongoing Backups: 6330, TM-180, Milled Collection RSX 2, Bellum Winmore 787, mFGP2, Directed Force 2.1 Member: MGS Hitsquad since 2017
Popular Post cjeffs12 886
Had a fun round this morning for my birthday, and my parents came down to join. It was cold and wet, so didn’t keep stats just wanted to enjoy the round. Hit some good shots, nothing horrible. Really liking where my swing is at right now. I did notice with hitting ball more solid and with a better face to path, I may have to consider a ball change. I had quite a few run out more than I wanted. Popular Post Ben_Howell34 636
Played yesterday at Bent Brook in Birmingham with some high school buddies. Shot 43-44 for an 87, no birdies 3 doubles… drove pretty well and struck it decent enough that I should’ve been low 80s but had some mental errors. 2 3 putts, a couple of “getting too cute” shots and a blade wedge into the water to end up doubling one of the easiest holes on the course. Played the par 3’s well and par 5’s bad which is the opposite of the setup here, par 5’s are gettable and 3’s are tough. Missed an easy par save putt after a brilliant sand shot too. On the bright side I chipped very well, had a couple of tough up and downs I put within 2 feet for easy pars. Ever since my chipping lesson late last year I love having a wedge in my hand. Way more freeing and just makes golf more fun honestly. 11 Quote Radspeed Driver 10.5* Radspeed 3W 14.5* JPX 921 Hot Metal Pro 4i-PW RTX Zipcore Wedge 52* Mid Bounce RTX Zipcore Wedge 56* Mid Bounce Kirkland Signature KS1 Putter

Not much energy and still tired and hard to believe it has been 3 weeks since coming down with this $%^&%$* sinus infection. First surprise was I tried to play Monday and only got thru 7 holes and mentioned that to one of the guys in the clubhouse (they all know me since I play 5 times a week) and Michael only charged me for 9 holes today without me asking. Nice start to my day. Then I was playing new irons, new shafts and a new driver with a new shaft. 20-25 mph winds but with the temps near 100* not a bad thing really. ... I really liked the LTDx Black with the LinQ White shaft but struggled with the KBS TGi shafts in my new Forged Tec irons. 5-pw with a FT-X 4 iron that was silly long off the tee and from the fairway and set me up for an eagle putt just over the 2nd green. I need to weaken it 2* and match the specs for the FT 4 iron. The FT's performed well but the TGi shafts just feels very brittle and stiff, unlike any graphite irons shafts I have played. Not sure if I was making poor contact, although all my par 3 shots had the tee mark in the center of the face, or the shafts are just very different because as I said, I felt a little weak and tired all round long. I am going to give them a few more rounds and then if the feel doesn't improve, I will re-shaft with Steelfibers similar to what I have in my MIM irons. Love that combo. 3 birdies and 2 bogies so 1 under par while still feeling under the weather gives me nothing to complain about. Resting this weekend then hopefully a little more energy for Mondays round! Sorry about the KBS TGi shafts. I think you know right away if a shaft will work or not. First impressions are important. About 25 years ago I had to get stitches in my finger when my hand slipped off a wrench working on the truck and I sliced my right index finger. Our neighbor was a nurse and had certain skills along with the necessary equipment and homestead mentality to keep me from going to the ER. I took a golf club with me and gripped the club to get the proper finger bend while she stitched me up and we taped in into that shape. You see we had two weekends of golf competition with the sister course starting the next day and I wasn't going to miss it! It really didn't have any effect on how I played. I was glad it wasn't my left index finger as the interlocking grip probably would have been a problem. For a trade on stitching me up I re-shingled their pole barn once the stitches came out. They have since moved to Mississippi so now I'd have to take a club to the ER with me and talk security into letting me bring it in. 4 5 Quote Modern Bag: 849 Pro 9*, Hazrdous Smoke S Flex; 915F 3w, Diamana S+ 70 S flex; Snake Eyes 15*, & 23* Hybrids; JPX 900 Forged 5 - PW, PX LZ 6.0; Tour Action 49*, 53*, 57*; PX LZ 6.5 ; Heppler Fetch; Ball - MTB-Black; Bag - H2NO Shot Scope H4, MG600 Rangefinder Classic Bag: Driver - Persimmon; 3w - Speed Slot; 5w - Tour Block; 3 - pw - Dynapower; sw - Ram Tom Watson; putter - bullseye standard or flange.
