I had just finished a coaching session with my club pro (we have been working weekly for the past 10 weeks or so), and walked out to the course to play 18... I left my card on his desk after the round with a note of appreciation for helping me achieve something I never thought possible. Subsequent to this I shot rounds of 77, 80, and 79 over the weekend... so still have some work to do on the consistency side of things... but now I know it is possible Hell of of round spy, one hell or a round!! Popular Post fixyurdivot 17,452
2022 PNW Spy Meet-up | Round 2 | Palouse Ridge | Pullman, WA Today I played the home course of the Washington State Cougars. This one has been on my radar for quite some time but I just never got it done. I arrived early and couldn't believe how empty the parking lot was. The pro shop said the course was pretty wide open and, if I wanted to head straight out, could get started before two foursomes were scheduled about 30 minutes later... sign me up. Barely having stretched my legs from the 2-1/2 hour drive over from ID, I loaded up the cart and headed to #1. Another opportunity for a 2-ball contest. This time a PV1 vs. Chromesoft ERC. Both drives were roped and only about 10 ft from one another. I hit the PV1 straight at the flag and the CS leaked a bit right and short. Upon getting up to the green, I see the PV1 sitting inside 1 ft. I coaxed the CS to within a few feet, made that putt and the tap in for a birdie, par start . I chose the "gray" tees at 6172 yards (70/127). The weather was absolutely gorgeous and the views across the Palouse beautiful. The PV1 shot 42/44 with three birdies and the CS a 43/44 with none. Because the course was so open and I finished the first 18 pretty quick, I opted to do the $30 replay. I played 2-ball again on the front 9, PV1 (49) vs. a TP5 (43). On the back, I could feel my energy waning a bit and just played the TP5 the rest of the round, shooting a 46 on the back. I kicked myself for not clubbing down on this approach. Right at the flagstick for my 3rd shot on #18 par 5 and I get a "fried egg" on a 70 degree lie. I tried hacking it up and out but it hit the lip and rolled back down. Definitely a Advil night . Tomorrow, I'm off to meet with Kenny, Chris, and Martha to play Columbia Point. 8 11 Quote G410 Plus, 9 Degree Driver G400 SFT, 16 Degree 3w G400 SFT, 19 Degree 5w ZX5 Irons 4-AW Glide 2.0 56 Degree SW (removed from double secret probation ) ER5v Putter (Evnroll ER5v Official Review)

Popular Post TR1PTIK 3,554
Had a decent round Monday with an 87 at Tierra Verde in Arlington, TX. It's a pretty tight track (off the tee) and after racking up a number of penalty strokes the previous week, I decided to formulate a gameplan and put it on paper to take to the course. I cut the penalty strokes in half and only one of those was a result of strategy - the rest were simply execution errors (either target selection or just a bad swing). I went from 29% fairways last week to 57% fairways this week - only missed one fairway on the back nine. GIR was down slightly from 39% to 33% which was disappointing, but I wasn't off by much most of the time. My buddies and I got paired with a high school kid who was there to practice for a two-day tournament which started yesterday (currently T2 at -1). If this kid isn't on tour one day I'll be surprised. His game was perhaps the best I've seen in any playing partner and I have a few friends who have spent time on developmental tours. It was a fun day watching him absolutely stripe it and share some strategy with him since he had never played the course before. We were hitting very different clubs, but it was further validation that doing my homework was the right move. A nice bonus was that simply watching how he held the club and moved it through the turf seemed to rub off on me. I found myself staying down through the shot better and hitting flight windows I'm not used to seeing. Final highlight of the round was achieving a 4.50 scoring average on the par fives - birdied two, parred two. I never seem to get as much out of a par five as I know I should and this ties my previous best from earlier in the season when I had three birdies and a bogey at a different course. 17 2 Quote Driver: Mizuno ST190 9.5* Aldila RIP Alpha 60 S Fairway Wood: Mizuno ST190 15* Fujikura Atmos Blue 6S Hyrbrid: Mizuno CLK 17* Fujikura Speeder EVO HB Irons: Bridgestone J40 CB (3-PW) Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 Wedges: Bridgestone Tour B XW-1 54* & 58* Nippon Modus 3 105 Putter: Cleveland Huntington Beach SOFT Premier 4 34" Ball: Snell MTB-X Bag: 2017 Titleist Players 5 Stand Bag

Popular Post cjeffs12 886
I went to the course yesterday prepared to practice, but the course was wide open and the pro said lets go play. I played 9 holes, and easily had my best ball striking day, and after 9 the pro said this is the best he has ever seen me swing. This is the first time on the course I don't have a bunch of swing thoughts. Everything feels free and easy. I drove one par 4 on the fringe, and flew one over long. The ZX7 is a beast! I just fell into my comfort zone of score of 41, so I need to work on scoring now. More so in picking better targets, so I plan on really digging into DECADE. I'm hoping to get in some holes this evening, but if not I really need to dial in my wedges and putter. 15 Quote ZX7 9.5* Ventus Blue 6-X Sim Max 15* Accra TZ RPG 362 M5 ZX Utility 3 20* Nippon GOST S ZX7 4-PW Project X 6.0 RTX Zipcore 52.10 Mid Dynamic Gold TI Spinner RTX Zipcore 56.10 Full Dynamic Gold TI Spinner RTX Zipcore Full Face 60.09 Dynamic Gold TI Spinner M Craft OMOI 02 34.5” Z-STAR 3.5+ Push Cart NX9 with Slope
Popular Post CarlH 8,312
It was a hot one today in AR, somewhere in the mid 90s. I drank a lot of water and 2 gatorades to stay hydrated. Shot a 39 on the front with one birdie, then made the turn. Things were going okay, but I was already 3 over through 4 holes on the back. Then I chili dip a wedge shot and double 15. 16 is a 145 yard par 3 and I stuck it about 10 feet to the left and burned the edge for a tap in par, then went birdie, birdie (both with 8 foot putts (give or take)) on the final 2 holes for another 39 and an overall 78 for the day. Ladies Member-Guest starts tomorrow, so I won't be playing until Saturday when I play a nearby muni. Supposed to be over 100 Saturday, but our tee time is 7:24, so we should be through before the highs for the day are reached. Was awesome. went 82/83. I struggled the second round after about 8 holes, was pretty gassed and I struggled on my second shots. the first round while it was an 82 I felt like it was my best ever chance at an even par round. I hit 10 greens and my approach play was A1 best I have ever played. Where I struggled? Putting!!!! I had multiple 3 putts and a 4!!!! Popular Post Golfspy_CG2 32,684
Thursday AM league was a rainfedt. 1sy 9 holes was the worst rain I’ve ever played in. Fairways starting go puddle. Couldn’t find my rain gloves until the 7th hole. Couldn’t keep the grips dry and both towels soaked by the 4th hole. Shot 51 on the front. But rain slowed to a steady drizzle on the back and shot a more acceptable 45 considering the conditions. I was too bundled up to get a good idea of how the irons were. But the few chances I did get a good chance to hit them from semi dry conditions they felt fantastic and held the line very well. 10 2 Quote TSi1 Aldila Ascent 40G shaft TSi2 18 FW with GD AD IZ 6 Shaft TSi1 20 and 23 degree hybrids Aldila Ascent Shafts R T300 5-P Tensei R flex shaft 1/4 long SM8 48F/54/58 D Grinds Tyne 4 ProV1X Play number
