Popular Post fozcycle
Played Eaglebrooke GC in Lakeland today with Your fav and mine, Golfspy_CG2. He was in O town this week for a Billy Casper Golf conference and had a day to play. Let me tell you, this course is no slouch, a Casper managed course, everything was in place and the greens were rolling like sh$t on shinola. We both had to deal with water and O.B. On a course we never played before and put up some bodacious numbers. Popular Post Kenny B
After a bad weekend playing with sore arms and shoulders from pruning, I walked 9 holes today with the Monday guys. I can't remember when I struck the ball so well, particularly my irons. It was 65º and sunny yesterday, but today it was a cloudy 50º with 15+ mph wind. I was -1 after 4 holes with a birdie on the #1 hcp hole, but starting on #5 I was hitting into the wind and made 3 bogeys getting home. Not a particularly good putting day. Shot 39 (+2). Happy with that!! sirchunksalot, tony@CIC, MattF and 7 others 10 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

Popular Post Golfspy_CG2
As Foz said above. I had a chance to play today and hoped to get a group of locals. But due to some family commitments RickP and RevKev weren’t able to make it. They most likely saved themselves a real butt kicking. Course had trouble lurking on every shot and i probably got a bit full of myself after a couple pars to start. Greens may have been the fastest ive ever played on. Loved them ss they rolled as true as you could ask and not a ball mark to be found. And throw in s pretty constant 15 moh wind and the fact i hadnt played a round since last October. I guess i ciuldnt be surprised at my 48/49 round. Easily could have been 90 if not for 3 putts and might have been 105 if a couple 10 and 15 footers didn't find the hole. here’s a couple more shots from the round. Including one if me fending off a Foz eating gator. perseveringgolfer
ventured out on a VERY wet course after 3mths of rain landed in 2 weeks here! It was very cold but not raining. A 20mph wind made the 37* temp feel like 30* Played surprisingly well, long straight drives (considering the temp and wind I was pleased with the length) but everything plugged so it was carry all the way. After 12 holes it started to sleet then snow, trolley wheels got clogged with sleety ice but we carried on as 4 holes to go, fingers were numb, no-one shook hands at the end for fear of a finger snapping so it was fist pumps only. Sleety snow has a way of slowly wetting you unlike rain, so I was soaked thru by 18 but happy with my play.........except the 5 fatted chips and 3 thinned ones ffs! One day I will figure out a chipping method that works for me. 78 blows on a par 70. chisag
11 hours ago, mr.hicksta said: Putts - 19 with two terrible 3 jacks, with one coming from 7 feet ... While I am always reluctant to give advice without actually seeing a player, I am going to do it here. Take a look at your line and get a general idea of what your line is. Then completely forget it and only concentrate on speed. Hit your putt with enough speed to die in the hole. You can do this on the practice green with uphill, downhill, sidehill and flat putts. Do not worry about making the putt, just hitting it with the correct speed to stop around the hole. Not only will this eliminate 3 putts, you will most likely make more putts because just like stepping on a rocky path where you see those places to step and then look ahead to your next step, you can trust your brain to tell you foot where to go without looking at it again. ... Your brain will do the same thing with the line and free you up to roll the ball to the hole for an easy tap in if you don't make the first putt. I don't care how badly you miss your line, unless it is a massively breaking putt that fools you, you will always be within a foot or two of the hole. Contrast that with picking a good line and leaving it 5 feet short or rolling it past the hole 5 feet and that is a recipe for a 3 putt. Obviously the correct speed and line give you the best chance at great putting, but concentrating only on the speed will eliminate bad putting. mr.hicksta, CarlH, cksurfdude and 5 others 7 1 Quote Driver: Qi10 10.5* ... Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy I think a lot of us (myself included) can get caught up in being so technical that we forget that if we just act/react naturally as athletes then things start to fall into place. One of the things that I have to remind myself all too often. Shawn Clement does a great job of explaining this on YT. fozcycle, JohnSmalls, mr.hicksta and 1 other 4 Quote Driver- Cobra Aerojet LS Woods- Cobra LTD 3w 15*, 5W 19*, F9 24* Irons- XXIO X (6-A) Wedges- Callaway Jaws Raw (54/58) Putter- Bettinardi BB56 Ball- Maxfli Tour X/Wilson Triad Buggy- Clicgear 4.0 Bag- Callaway Org 14/Fairway C

Generally, we've worked our way out of the basics in an effort to fix things. JMO! Very true and every time I've tinkered, I've ended up playing poorly! 6 hours ago, cksurfdude said: Do you have a coach or a good pro you trust to take a look at your swing? Could be something simple... No coach at the moment, but I found one I plan on working with once I get settled in San Diego. And I agree, it likely is something fairly simple! 4 hours ago, THEZIPR23 said: Everyday do that speed drill. I have never played with you but I have trouble believing your line is that far off. GET YOUR SPEED RIGHT!! I literally just ordered a ball marker from Liberty Ball Markers that says 'Mind The Speed'! I keep it in mind every putt, but I just need to practice more. 4 hours ago, cnosil said: I know you will be fine, I have seen you play.
