How'd you play?

MmmmmmBuddy

Recommended Posts

Was 3 over with 3 to play when darkness called it. Did hit a couple of bombs (for me). Career long on 1 and the drives on 13 and 14 were both out there - had 180 into the green on 14 which is 471 on the card - pin and tees were up though. Probably 250, I was right next to a guy who is normally 250-270 on that one.

Ping G410 5-9 wood  Alta 65 R flex

Wilson D7 forged 6-GW -  Mamiya recoil 460 R flex

EVNRoll ER 5

Titleist Pro VIx optic yellow with revkev stamped on them

Tour Exotics 3 wood is in the bag because we are allowed 14 clubs.  It's a great club for pulling balls out of the water or from bushes - you never want to put your hand into anything in Florida unless you are absolutely certain that it's safe.  There are rare wind conditions when I might hit it off the tee on a few holes that I play.

Havent played much as of late. Walked 9 tonight after woek and managed to just get it in. Played with gloves on both hands for the 1st time. It was good until I was around the green or putting as the feel was lost. Verdict still out on two gloves.

My game has struggled a bit. On the 4th hole I realized I let my feet creep too far apart. Im such a better player when my feet stsy close together. When they creep apart I really find myself spraying the ball.

Take the gloves off while putting. I can't putt with a glove, it takes away all the feel.

I always do flying with a single glove, but got lazy with two gloves.

41/40 for an 81. I had a really good chance at 79, but choked on the greens. Couldn't really find the middle of the driver aside from maybe 2 drives. I was pushing my irons a bit to the right, or my aim was off. I was still hitting greens, just leaving myself like 30-footers for birdie. 0 penalty strokes I thought today was the day. Koolina is an amazing course and I strongly encourage anyone visiting Oahu to check it out.

I haven't played in a week, and just got back from a 300 mile trip to visit my dad on Thanksgiving,  I didn't even keep score since we can't post scores until March 1.  Long game was decent; short game sucked.  Poor chips; bad putting.

I hit the fairway on our short par 4 #14.  A seagull ran over to it, picked it up, walked around with it, dropped it a couple of times, picked it up and flew about 25 yards, dropped it, picked it up again, flew over to a sand trap, and dropped it.  I made it over to my ball before he decided to picked it up and drop it in the pond; visions of The Players Championship on #17 went through my head.

Played Magnolia in Disney today for my first time hitting a golf ball in well over a month. Promptly blew my first tee shot right into the water on #1 and then repeated it again on #2. Settled down to shoot 40 going out with some nice iron play and some good putting. Settled down on the back and shot one over 37. Overall a 77 on a 7,100 yard track for not playing in a bit is a moral victory to say the least. Rolled my Edel putter for the first time on the course and there is something to his theory. Did not have one putt that was not struck well and zero three putts today. This one may be a keeper.....for the winter anyway.

The wind cost me that bogey as it was a good one club wind and I flushed a wedge that got caught in the wind and came straight down short of the green. I couldn’t get up and down. So I played the last three holes pissed off trying to birdie something. Drained like a 5 footer on the last hole to get back to level par.

I was hitting is pretty good, considering that I hadn’t hit a shot since Thanksgiving day. Yeah I know, some of you up north just want to tell me to STHU. [emoji16]

Sooo, did you get the Callaway fitting experience for you senior shafts??? 😉

In all seriousness, sounds like a great time and 77 is a really good round on an long, unfamiliar course.

Well the other week was my best round. Rewind to 1-2 years and I was struggling to get into the low 90's. The last year has mostly been in the 80's. Personal best was an 84 (different course). Fast forward to a couple weeks ago and I broke 80 for the first time with a round of 76.

27 Putts, 39% GIR (Probably why I had sub 30 putts), and 21 FIR% (Nothing wildly off the fairway). Most pars and birdies I've had in a round. 9 pars and 3 birdies. Only one double and one 3 putt. It was just one of those days where nothing was horrible and putting everything together.

If you combine this with my 36 from Monday that ties my personal best round of 71. I had the whole golf course to myself after work, and the putter was just working today as I made everything I needed to make and then some.

I can’t post this to handicap as it was a solo round, but it’s a legit 71.

Played 9 after work as usual at one of the local munis. +3 and hit 42% FiR and 55% GiR. I think I missed 3 birdie putts by a total of 2" combined. Fairway misses were in the first cut, TS2 was pretty good except when I overcooked one trying to draw it, but that's obviously my fault.
